A GGT approaches. Command?

It's a good thing the Classic Controller + the Nyko grip is so nice, or I'd probably pay the $50 for that Super Famicom pad.

Time to eat some homemade deep-dish pizza :)drool:) and watch Speed Racer with my wife. :) Hooray for Blu-Ray. Hooray for fun movies that many people have the wrong opinion about!!

EDIT: Shit, this post made my question get backpaged. Just so people will actually see it:
So I never go to Blockbuster. Do they sell new games, or just used games/games that have been retired from renting?

Hey refused, what are you looking to get out of that iTouch?

I'm not really looking to buy since I need more space than that, I'm just curious.
not the $180 they are going for....i just want something decent since i dont need it...id rather get rid of it here since i RLY RLY RLY dont wanna deal with ebay

I hate ebay too lol, that's why I'm having trouble dumping my zune.

I'm still trying to decide whether an iTouch is worth losing 14 gigs of space and spending over a hundred bucks after selling my zune and buying an Invisible shield.

I had one in like January when they were still 300 for an 8 gig. It really wasn't worth it then because of the lack of apps and the high price. I took it back a few days after I got it because I was dead broke after buying it.

I just played the Crysis demo again. I figured out it runs pretty well on medium until you alt tab out, or change the settings. After that it's a slide show for some reason. I'm going to go back to it after I look up the command for show FPS. It's a damn fun game, just not sure if I want to drop 30 for Warhead not knowing how well it runs.

Hey GGT, it's been a while since I've been here (or CAG as a whole). Now that I'm living on campus I no longer have a TV therefore I haven't played any games in a month. I stopped reading up on games because 1.) I don't really have the time and 2.) it would only remind me that I won't be able to play games until Thanksgiving at the earliest.

With that said, I guess my love of games isn't so easily removed. The past few days I've gone to 1up.com and kotaku just to see what's up in the gaming world. Dang, I wish I could play Mega Man 9 when it comes out (my birthday!)! I just thought I'd pop in and see what's up with everyone. Happy gaming everyone!

Wait, you don't have a TV because you're on campus? WTF?

Man, college gives me more time than ever to do whatever shit I want. It's amazing.
Wait, you don't have a TV because you're on campus? WTF?

Yeah, the housing I live in only has one TV in the living room area. I don't really want to have 11 other people messing with my 360 when I'm not around.

So...the next GGT, #84 or #85? No one ever numbered this one.

Anyway, I FINALLY finished Secret Mission 17 in Tales of Vesperia. It is by far one of the worst game designs I have ever seen. I also managed to get the 2nd Storyline Achievement and Secret Mission 18 as well. So I think I'm done with the hard part in terms of Secret Missions. Besides SM17, I've really enjoyed the game, and I'm kinda nearing the 65 hour mark already.

OH, and for some reason I decided to pick up my PSP last night and do the whole 4.05 Firmware thing, as well as download Capcom's stuff for Mega Man Powered Up. They put a lot of stuff up for that game, and for free no less. It's also my favorite PSP game out of the 4 I own. Brings it back to one thing: The PSP has almost no good games.

You could play it while it charges Botticus.....

Anyway, Animal Crossing DS came in the mail from goozex and I'm very excited!! Other than that, Platinum is even more awesome that I had originally expected, and I can't wait to sink 600+ hours into it like I did with Diamond/Pearl.

I should get a new DS game. I don't want to spend $40 on TWEWY though. :whistle2:/

KingBroly, your post reminded me that I've been thinking about selling my PSP. It's got nothing I want to play that I haven't already played, and nothing's coming up that I'm even remotely interested in.

Did you really end up with over 600 hours in that?
Did you really end up with over 600 hours in that?
Yeah, but to it's credit, Battle Revolution and Ranch attributed to some of the hours put in. But I must say, Nintendo really picked the series back up after how atrocious Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald were. Diamond and Pearl were such a big improvement from those, and just as easily good as Gold/Silver/Crystal where and still are. And the best part, is that Platinum is already a big improvement and add sooooooo much more to the already awesome games that Diamond/Pearl where.

I hear you, daroga. I kind of regret my slim purchase. When I bought it, there were games I wanted (disgaea, silent hill, etc), old games I hadn't played (Daxter, the Ratchet titles), and it was my main mp3 player. Now...there are no new titles, it feels like I've played everything I want, and I finally got on the dedicated mp3 player bandwagon. If it wasn't for my monster backlog, I might have already sold it.

Dissidia yo!

I still don't have a psp, but I need to get one eventually do get in on the squeenix action and castlevanianess!

The Kirby game comes out Tuesday. I'll probably pick it up. My DS has been gathering way too much dust. Trying to pick up Sonic Rush from Goozex as well.
Mercs 2 is a really bad game, but it's really fun. Glad I didn't buy it, but it's worth the rental.
I only played some of it quick... I'll probably put more time in it when I can, but overall I can't see it being worth more than $15.

I'm keeping my psp around for Loco Roco 2 and Patapon 2, and the possible releases of Phantasy Star Portable and Monster Hunter Freedom 2 G.

For the moment, my psp is really my dedicated Monster Hunter and Hot Shots player. Other than that, it sits in my room and hardly ever gets played.

I've thought of getting a PSP a couple of times, but there's just not enough games to justify the cost. Really just God of War and the Ratchet and Clank games and a few other games.

That and I don't really have a great need for a portable as I end up just working on flights these days and don't play my portables much at home.

Fanboys ruining CAG?

PSP is more worth it than people think it is. Great games for super affordable prices... and even if that's not cheap enough, custom firmware makes for cheap times.

Sonic Rush is fantastic. Avoid Sonic Rush Adventure like the plague though. :(

whoknows, did you say you got the Speed Racer PS2 game? I had heard that the PS2/Wii game was surprisingly good for a licensed property, almost an Fzero game with the Speed Racer skin, which isn't surprising since the movie is essentially an Fzero film.

And for anyone who cares, Speed Racer is easily a demo disc for a Blu-Ray / decent sound setup. Just gorgeous. I love the style of it all.
Jesus, are the Itouches worth it?
Honestly, I think so. I love the interface, love the browser (honestly, I can surf the web easier and faster on my touch than on my shitty-ass exploding PC), and just overall enjoy having it. My only gripe is that the battery life isn't that great, but as long you don't plan on going days without charging access it's not a major problem.

I always charge every night. Long as it can do 15 ish hours of music I'm alright.

Kirby Super Star is for me easily one of the best SNES games out there. At least ones made by Nintendo. It's also probably the best kirby games. Only one that really comes close is Canvas Curse. Dream Land 3 and Adventure were both good but Super Star did the same thing better.

Battery's pretty good on my touch, but I don't use it a ton in a row. Usually just listen to some podcasts while I work out, and maybe watch a video or two on it.

It's a fantastic little device. I wonder if there's any chance of them coming out with a CDMA iPhone. I'd love to upgrade my Q in a year to one to consolidate the two devices.

StarKnight: remind me again what the Super Star game does differently than other ones? I'm familiar with Dream Land, Nightmare in Dream Land, Canvas Curse, and Squeak Squad (though I've played most of the other ones, they're more hazy...)

Also, note that my unemployed cheap whore self hasn't paid the whole 10 bucks for the 2.0 software update, so I don't have games or all that badass stuff to comment on.

EDIT: Holy shit, tonight was the last night for the Toonami block on Cartoon Network. There goes another piece of my chilllldhooood.

Time Hollow comes out this week.

I'm the opposite of most of you. My DS gathers dust and I play my PSP all the time. My DS is basically just there for Phoenix Wright.

Haven't they cut toonami like 50 times?

And the games and badass stuff are the main reason I'm interested in the iTouch. I'd almost like to get a cheap 8 gig for videos and apps and keep my zune for my music, but that would be dumb.

same here... My PSP get's play every day (especially since i'm on the metro train rail so much) while my DS went to a friend of mine that I'm forcing to play Hotel Dusk (thankfully he loves it like me). I didn't realize the kirby game was out so soon! so good! I don't need it back till the Wii Animal Crossing comes out so I can transfer my data.

It's a text adventure much like Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk, etc. The main character has a pen which can be used to change the past so he can solve problems happening in the present.

Oh.

I have one of the Phoenix Wright games (the one that starts with the case where Phoenix is accused of murdering that one guy), but I never progressed past the first case because I just never have time to sit down and focus on reading text and shit.

I got stuck on one part on TWEWY (didn't know where to go) and I haven't played it in two months. I know I could easily look it up on GameFAQs and progress, but...but...Rock Band 2! There are soooo maaany sooongs!

Super Star is basically 5 kirby games in 1 , plus 3 mini games. You had Spring Breeze , which was an enhanced port of the original Kirby's Dream Land.
Dyna Blade , which was your typical kirby adventure.
Revenge of Metaknight (my personal favorite) , where you board the Halberd and stop it from taking over dreamland.
Great Treasure Adventure , where you travel through 4 zones looking for hidden trasures (many of which are nintendo related).
Milky Way Wishes , which takes you planet hoping and gives you ability trophies that you can use unlimited times , whenever you want.

The biggest selling point for Super Star was basically its variety. Spring Breeze , Dyna Blade and Revenge were all basically standard kirby games , but with different styles. Great Treasure Adventure and Milky Way Wishes were different than regular kirby games.

What? I was just watching it some earlier tonight. What the hell? Are they just gonna replace it with regular shows then or what?

Sounds kinda interesting. Surprised I hadn't heard of it before now.

Seriously, no one has heard of Time Hollow? I've been waiting for this one for awhile, have it preordered and everything.

Time Hollow follows the story of Ethan Kairos and the mysterious disappearance of his entire family. As Ethan searches for his family he comes across a Hollow Pen, an uncanny object with the unique power to open portals to the past. This allows Ethan to change the past in order to solve problems in the present. Through the use of this mystical pen he must follow events in the present and past to locate his missing family.

Huh?

I'm hardly a Nintendo supporter if that's what you're implying. My DS has largely gathered dust since late 2006/early 2007 and the Wii sucked and I haven't missed it at all since ditching it.

I just don't see much I want on the PSP as I really don't want to play console-like games on my portables since I'd rather just turn on the console and play something on my 50" TV. So the portable games that interest me are stuff like 2D games that are few and far between on the consoles.

The DS has had too few of these, but the PSP has even fewer. I have no bias against Sony (hell the couple games I listed that interest me on the PSP are Sony games), I've just not seen enough that interests me on the PSP to justify the price and buying a second portable system when I barely touch the one I have.

Dang, that sounds awesome. The remake of Dreamland 1 is on the DS one? That's probably my favorite one. Sure, it only takes 45 minutes to beat and I could probably do so by sound alone, but it's still awesome.

I remember when I first found out about Toonami. Friends and I at lunch in high school were talking about Thundercats, and one guy goes, "They're showing that on Cartoon Network now!" At that point I hadn't seen it since it was originally on, so we found it on Toonami. Of course, now I own all the DVDs so it's not quite the same, but it was linked to my childhood too, just, differently than you young pups. ;)
