Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice $10 Walmart [Canada]

Princess Zelda

CAGiversary!
There's some $10 DS games in the Walmart bargain bin!
Ace Attorney:Apollo Justice
Neopets:puzzle Adventure (Reversi/Othello by the guys who made Puzzle Quest)
Exit DS
Legend of Kage.

These were specially marked games with a $10.00 sticker on the front and had their own Value Priced UPC code on the back covering the original. This means if you don't find the specially marked one the price will probably be higher.

If you go to the Kanata store I buried 3 copies of the Ace Attorney game at the bottom in the bargain bin near the paint. There are two bins back to back it was the bin facing the automotive section.

Ace Attorney flash demo.

Amazing. I was holding out to wait for the fine pricepoint of $19.99, but this is even better. Nice find!

If you don't buy it at this price, you are most likely a communist terrorist socialist.

So hard to keep up with the "enemy" in the US these days!

One added suggestion the original 1974 Gone in 60 Seconds is in the DVD Bargain Bin for $5. If you like the Burnout games for the crashes you have to buy this movie and watch it. My Dads a car chase scene movie lover and this is his favorite movie.

Yeah, I saw this the other day and didn't think much of it, but I grabbed a/their last copy despite me already owning it.

Other games to note that are 10 buckeroos, Exit DS and Legend of Kage. Worth getting at 20 (the MSRP) if you're into the type of games, but def worth buying for most at 10.

Mmmm RFD mentality.

Thanks OP, been meaning to pick this up, 10 is a great price.
Mmmm RFD mentality.

Not really; I always end up giving away a lot of my duplicates away to ppl that don't have it, so I just buy a lot of cheap crap. This train of thought started with me giving away 6 copies of Castlevania: SotN and 3 copies of Vagrant Story.

No one likes to be compared to a hoarder, and that includes myself. >:p

Socialists are the enemy here too.

If you haven't played the first three, the fourth will have much less impact on you. Play Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney now. It's an oldschool Adventure game. Mostly text based but some of the most compelling and addictive games on the DS. It's my favourite DS title edging out even Mario Kart DS.
um, casually speaking.... what does Ace attorney focus on? is it like a puzzle game? :p i honestly dont know...
You're a defence attorney and you're trying to prove that your client is innocent because usually they are.

In the outside courtroom setting, you're finding evidence and clues about what happened on the day of the murder. In the courtroom setting, you're putting together all the pieces and disproving the witness's statements and prosecution.

Overall, I think it's a fun game that forces you to think outside the box. It's kind of tedious though since your character (Apollo Justice) does most of the talking. It's a text-based game where you get to present evidence and press on faulty statements. So if you're into mostly plot, it's awesome. :D

EDIT: Oops. Didn't see Firestorm's reply.

damn, i love those types of games!!

this makes me want to get a Ds real quick :)

but ill lay low untill the DSI shows what shes got.

DSIware, it might be the push to overcome DsL...
Is that the fourth? I own the first two but haven't gotten ahold of the third yet, would I be lost?
Actually the fourth is after Phoenix Wright, so its a completely different story base, well, for the most part, so if you didnt played the third, no big deal.

I love the series and own every single one!! This is the best deal ive seen for the Phoenix wright series.
just went to the downtown one in Victoria, no dice. Langford one didn't have any last week either.
Yeah, Victoria's really gone downhill since they downsized.... Langford used to have some pretty good games on the shelf behind the counter, but that's gone too....

It should be noted to previous posters who haven't played PW yet:

1. Each subsequent game's enjoyment increases tenfold if you have played the prior installments
2. While the game is a lot of writing, it's a great memory-testing game (if you're into Brain Age or Layton style games), and the writing is quite humorous at times. I've had plenty of laughs playing through the games.

Each game kind of gives away big spoilers of the last game(s), so I really urge playing through them in order. The series only gets better as it goes along IMO (1 < 2 < 3... 4 I haven't played).

Not really ... No one likes to be compared to a hoarder, and that includes myself. >:p
Valid, no offense intended of course :D

Thanks Princess!
They were well hidden by you but I found them. :D

Also found Wii SNK Classics $14.83 which I've been looking for but never found it till now.

yea. My problem with the downtown store is that dump way too many games into their bin. When I went yesterday, it was practically overflowing and it was nearly impossible to go through all the titles without worry of it spilling over. The Langford one was more organized, but didn't have any. Terrible, I wish I could price match it at EB.

Thanks, Zelda! It's much appreciated. If there isn't a copy at WM Trainyards, I will visit your hidden cache. I thought I was the only one to pull a 'Costanza hides the suit' and 'shuffles' games around the shelves for later if I am unsure I want it!
um, casually speaking.... what does Ace attorney focus on? is it like a puzzle game? :p i honestly dont know...
if it's like the other AA games then it's basically more like a point and click adventure like say Sam n Max (i've heard) or Strongbad.

In short it's pretty much an interactive story book. The only real puzzle is figuring out which selection to make to advance the story. It sounds kinda cheesy and dumb and to be honest that was a massive disappointment when I picked up AA1 but once I got over that the story is great and figuring out the truth behind the case and finding the next step was vastly entertaining so much so I picked up AA2 and AA3. and I'm going to head out today and pick up this one.. probably now.
The series only gets better as it goes along IMO (1 < 2 < 3... 4 I haven't played).
I actually preferred 2 over 1 over 3. That said the change in your life meter (1-> 2,3) was such a welcome addition.

I think I live in the only inhabited part of the country where there isn't a local EB :) Good thoughts though, I'll take a look at both EB and HMV the next time I'm on a shopping trip into the greatness of human civilization

Justice for all (#2) is pretty cheap, $9.99 used at EB iirc from a week or so ago. I haven't seen the first one at EB for a long time.

ummmm.......
where do you live???

I own the first 3, and love the series. I was wondering if anyone who's played this one might comment on how good it is. The removal of phoenix wright always made me think this was simply the developers trying to recreate the first game with a new character. Hence why I haven't bothered.

Phoenix Wright is in this game too. Its pretty much same thing, but instead of Pearls thing you have a bracelet that does something a little different. The world is a little bigger too so there is a little more searching to do and you can look at each piece of evidence in detail and fine things about that too.
is this game currently 8 TIV at ebg? cheers if anyone can confirm this :)
go call EB games yourself!

:headache:

maybe you will be more likely to get an answer if you weren't so retarded as to just leech off the other users here and not even contribute back with your witholding of tivs

I wish OP's had the ability to erase other people's posts in the threads they create. There's 2 pages of people talking about how good this game is and how happy they are to get it for $10 and one person ruins it.

The really sad part is you'll buy Apollo Justice and 2 other games spend $30 for a trade in 3 deal. You'll get your new game home added to your pile of shame and before you get time to play it, the game drops in price to $30 anyway.

so I went into Walmart asked if they had Apollo Justice and the woman said "What?". I repeated my request and she said "Apollo? Justice, No we don't have that". I wait around ask someone else (I'm trying to see if they have some sort of computer inventory) and the next woman says "I've never heard of it".

I mean really? I don't expect a 35-40 year old hispanic woman with a medium to thick spanish accent to be familiar with all the DS games or have the inventories all memorized. I was going to ask her if they had Dark Sector as a calibration tool because I did see that but I was so annoyed by two of them blowing me off I forgot.

But I did dig pretty hard thru those stacks at Vaughan and Thornhill and nothing. If anyone is seeing them anyway from Toronto to Pickering please keep up updated. Heck I'll pick it up from you if you want to buy it for me.
^also, he now knows the pile youve hidden....

I bet he's going to hoards all the copies there......
Hmm, you'd think we need some sort of private forum, where we could post and let everybody decent know where we hid copies
I wait around ask someone else (I'm trying to see if they have some sort of computer inventory) and the next woman says "I've never heard of it".
They don't have such a system. And even if they did, it'll be a bin item with a generic upc that reads "$10 NDS Game". So they wouldn't know even if they weren't incompetent Walmart employees.

:sigh: such is Wal-Mart i guess.. I'll have to look some more physically I guess. I hate bins. They're like a wasteland. If you don't have 20 minutes to wade thru them it's almost pointless. I darn near ended up organizing the first bin I went to just so I could see what was there.. found some interesting things in there at the very bottom but no Apollo so no bite.
