Is this game hard to find or something? I know it retails for $20 now, and TRU has it for $9.99. I've seen some pretty high pricing on ebay and the trading boards here. I know my TRU has a couple of copies. Should I go and pick them up just because they are (maybe) hard to find?

Most Good DS games are hard to find as it is overall. Things that should really excite you should be Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, Animal Crossing, Trauma Center, Phoenix Wright. Im not saying buy these on the spot (save for Dawn of sorrow) its just that maybe they have a nice price, and they are in overall high demand here. I tried trading advance wars out in CAG trading, but everyone has it already. If you like those kinds of games, you should go for it. But if you want it to be trading/selling fodder, you MIGHT just get a profit that isnt worth the trouble.

Man, you guys are lucky in America. I don't think I've seen a copy of this in stores for quite some time, and the one time I did see it, the guy was charging around $50 (CAD) for it.

I just picked up a copy for 8 dollars, CML im selling it quite cheap

edit: just sold it nevermind, but if you really want i can drive down to a kmart and pick up an extra advance wars for 9 dollars and sell it to you for cost + gas + shipping

yeah,my TRU had AW DS there for a few weeks so I picked one up when they were 10 dollars and kept it.Later on,I checked and they were still there.I grabbed them all and sold them on ebay.Good profit too.

Yes. Buying games to flip them sucks ass. Buy games to play them.

Besides, Advance Wars: DS is one of the best games of the past couple years on any platform. *Tons* of replayability with all the maps and options, and a great multi-player experience if anyone near you has a copy, too.

selling it for $30 will be tough...maybe on ebay it would sell for that?

Most of great low profile games like wario touch, electoplanton, kirby ds,phoenix wright, castlevania and trauma center become rare because they are non mainstream game.As result, caused low print run due to poor sales. Some games you have to pay full price or you will never see them again.Quite possible hotel dusk or lunar knights might be one of them

here's a follow up. don't know if this game is hard to find, but both copies i picked up from TRU for $9.99 sold for $30+ on ebay...prices people pay on ebay will never cease to amaze

I don't agree with this. Someone buys a game for $10, sells it to me for $30 on eBay. Sure, he made $20, but if I couldn't find the game locally and the $30 seemed reasonable, then he made the game available to me. If $30 is too high then no one will pay. The free market at work.

To me, what really sucks ass are those folks who sell bootleg copies. I stopped buying used games on eBay because I was getting about 1/2 of them as bootlegs. I'd send them back and they'd credit me but I didn't order a 'bootleg' version. I ordered a real version.

Anyway, it's that kind of stuff that kills eBay for me.

I bought my AW:DS for about $15 or so (used copy at EB with box and manual). I always see a copy or two around my local shops.

QFT. Though it may seem counterintuitive, "high" prices help ensure availability. I don't know about you, but I'd rather have the option to buy a game (even at an inflated price) than not be able to buy it at all. Oftentimes a high price even helps bring new supply to market which helps stabilize or bring prices down. More and more people look at the price, and think, "Hey I can make money on this," which brings more supply to the market.

Phoenix Wright 1 was a good example of this. Back when it was in short supply, you could still find it on ebay for $$$. Even though it was super expensive, if you *really* wanted it, you could have it. Further down the road, Capcom realized they could make money off the game, and printed a bunch more copies.

The free market at work. Amazing, ain't it? ;)

There is still a couple more at my kmart for 8 or 9 dollars or whatever. Ill try to stop by and sell them for cost
