Found this on my local Craigslist.

Bend Game Crazy Closing: First and foremost, a heartfelt and whole hearted "Thank You" to Central Oregon for choosing us for the past 6 years. In approx. two weeks ALL Game Crazy and Hollywood Video stores will be entering liquidation. As the store manager, and employee since (almost) inception till the last day I wanted to thank all the many, many, many people who have been like our extended family. You have made a job a 2nd home. We will miss all of your faces and down to earth kindness. We have always striven to be your "neighborhood" game store and provide you with excellent customer service and I feel we have done a pretty good job. Your loyalty has inspired us to provide you with the best possible experiences when in our store (CoDMW2 Midnight Launch chest flasher, HALO 3 Megaline around the store, Super Smash Bros. Tourneys and many many more). You have made the long waits till midnight launches and the 4AM Black Fridays well worth it. I also thank the many employees who have been with us over the years, the part time seasonals to the full timers who have moved on. We wish to see your faces all one last time before we close that gate for the final time. So come on down, pick up that game you've been wanting or just come down and shoot the breeze with Dan, Cody, Chris or myself. We would love to see you and say thank you and goodbye.

Bend Game Crazy Store Director,
Glenn J.

Bend Game Crazy Shift Leads (and a better group of employees than I could wish for),
Cody J. & Dan H. & Chris M.

P.S. As I'm sure many of you have some questions I'll try to answer what I know here and save our phone (and sanity) from blowing up.

Q. I have deposits on preorders, credit on my account, a gift card to GC and Hollywood. What do I do?
A. All cash deposits can be refunded for cash or used towards a purchase. All credit deposits/trade credits must be used up, credit is not transferable to cash. I recommend using your gift cards as there wont be any other location to use it at.

Q. Are you still taking preorders?
A. No, we will no longer be taking preorders on future titles, nor offering the MVP membership, offering game guard or console service contracts.

Q. What if I purchased one of those things?
A. Preorders see answer to the first question, as for MVP's and game guard I assume those will be unrefundable. In the case of service contracts I am unsure at this time how the company will handle them. I will have more information after my conference call on Monday.

Q. Are you still taking trades?
A. Yep, most definitely, however, we are no longer doing cash for trades. We still guarantee the best trade price in town and if we come in lower we'll top our competitor by 5% as always. But, if it wasn't obvious, you'll want to use that credit same day.

Q. What/When are your liquidation sales?
A. The sales wont start until the liquidation firms finish bidding on the company's assets *apx. 2 weeks. As for what the sales will be I couldn't tell you at this time. However expect by the time they begin some of our stock may have been shipped out, and expect much of the "better stuff" to go fairly quickly, so don't expect the good/decent/rare(er) games to last past the first or second weeks. Moral of the story, best to just come buy it now rather than try to wait for it to hit bottom dollar pricing as it wont be in stock then.

Q. What do you guys have in stock?
A. Honestly, everything up to date including a few Splinter Cell Elite 360 and Bowsers Inside Story DSI bundles. We have a pretty awesome selection of used games right now (I raided one of the Eugene stores that absorbed a lot of product from another closing store a few weeks ago so we have a lot of hot stuff in). A bunch of refurbished Wii's for $150, a ton of refurbished 360's $160-250 and a bunch of new consoles/handhelds as well.

Q. So what now?
A. We are kicking around a few ideas about a Store Closing BBQ when all is said and done and we'd really love to have anyone who has been a regular or has a fond memory to come down and write it down or sign on the store banner. We might also practice moonwalking and juggling and putting a video on YouTube, we'll see. :)

THANK YOU CENTRAL OREGON, YOU'VE MADE IT AWESOME!

My local Game Crazy has everything at 30% (PS2 was 50%) off. I didn't see any consoles out, they had some accessories out. Pretty good. =)
How much did that cost ya?
Like scorch said. 300$

It was the double arm buffer. Retails for 649$. You can get them on Ebay for 300-400$.

The condition was fantastic. But there were 2 bonuses that made 300$ well worth it.

First they threw in the re-sealing machine with the blowdryer because it wasnt on the list.

Secondly they threw in 5-6 bottles of the white and blue compound plus almost 10 buffing pads. If you price these by retail on jfjs site, its about 200$+ worth of extra stuff thrown in at no cost.

Ive already used the buffing machine and the resealed and both work fantastic. Disc buffer is a dream. I work at GC a few years back so I remember how to use it somewhat.

And have the DS games dropped to 40% or below yet? Anyone with knowledge of the Vancouver/Portland area to confirm?

There is a HV right down the street from my new house. It has been locked up since the announcement and they havent started any sales yet. The store is full of merchandise but there has been no activity for over a month.
Clarksville TN? Nah man, try 9.5+% sales tax.
WTF? Did that happen sometime in the last year? When I was there it was 7.5% sales tax. Shit, that's terrible.

My store is holding strong at 30% I went in today and they still have TONS of shit. The same shit that was there when they moved to 25%. I'm holding out on the madcats mic that includes the buttons on it. I'll jump at 40%. I also want to pick up Beatles Rock Band, but their new copies are listed at 40 bucks, but that game's current MSRP everywhere else is 29.99. fuckers!

It's been that way for a minute, can't remember when it changed. But yeah, it is bad.

I was at the one near Gresham (181st/Halsey) yesterday and they just went to 30% off all games. I'm waiting for 40% off, since their prices are not good to begin with.

I'm surprised nobody's reported this yet. I got an e-mail from GC yesterday that simply states "up to 50% off". No details, of course. They want us coming into the store. I may run by if I get the chance today, but I'm a bit doubtful.

The 50% is probably just for stuff like strategy guides and the such.
again, strategy guides have been pulled. ps2 games are 50%, everything else is 30%
My local store has game guides out, they were I think 10% higher than the rest.

That's definitely a mistake (as Scorch will tell you). I was at mine last night and the manager (who is a very cool guy) verifed that "No, we can't sell them. I have no idea why." Mind you, he said this while wearing flip flops and chatting with his 18ish year old co-worker who was literally sprawled out on top of the counter.

My point is, I'm pretty sure he would have just given me one if I asked him (because he is beyond the point of caring), but they definitely cannot sell them.

Yeah looks like they had it out on accident as they are no longer there when I went in earlier.

Prices hanging from 30-50%, still have a lot of stuff. Will go back if and when they hit 40-60% and pick up a few things. They have a used copy of DJ Hero for about $48 wouldn't mind purchasing for around $42.

I went by the stand-alone store in Salem, OR and there is absolutely no sign of liquidation or closing. I haven't been following the thread since the closer stores closed down, but how does that work?

I was a Game Crazy employee for over a year and it is extremely sad for me to see this happen. They really were a great alternative to GameSlop. I am sad to see this happen but it doesnt surprise me at all.

Got in on this thread late. Did some looking back... but why were the guides pulled? Any ideas?

A friend and I asked one of the liquidators if we could buy a ton of guides. Said she would email her boss and get back to us (never did). What could they possibly be doing with all those guides? Ripping off covers and getting vendor credits? Its seems like too many guides to just not sell.

Is that the location at scholls ferry rd & Beaverton-hillsdale hwy?

I checked out the Hagerstown, MD store again today. The store has been cleaned out fairly well. 30% off everything, and 50% off all PS2 games. Mostly old news, but I'm sure my fellow Marylanders probably wanted the update.

As for the HW next door, that store is still fairly packed. I can see the GC part of the store probably moving over to HW at least before the end of the month.

Yeah, people in Hagerstown usually go insane over liquidation sales, not knowing that the start of the sale is a ripoff. Right when CC started to close at 10% off, people were buying up laptops, etc, by the ton, when you could clearly flip up the liquidation "sale" price sheet and see the regular sale price was hundreds less. That's really too bad though, as I was going to give it another week or two before I really started looking for games over there.
strat guides are back out
Yeah, I saw a ton of guides but even with 30%, most are still overpriced.

It was a pretty sad sight there... sucks that Gamestop no longer has any serious competition left.

Up here in North Dakota they were selling guides fairly cheap today. I picked up a few for $7.00 (66% off).

I was actually surprised at the size of their inventory they had left. In my mind, 30% off new titles is not too bad of a bargain. Of course, most of the used stuff was picked over.

my hometown GS was selling guides for 30% off. They were also selling empty wii, 360, and PS3 cases 5 for a $1, but only Monday through Friday.

I know Movie Gallery owns Game Crazy, so I hope a nice Movie Gallery get can be included in here.

Ended up getting SEGA & Sonic All Stars Racing for 360 and DiRT 2 for 360 both for about $15 each. They were priced wrong on the shelf and with the extra %s off, got them dirt cheap. Pretty happy about that.

Also, totally not game related, but I got a giant box of envelopes for $2 and a gallon jug of hand soap for $3. Yay for store closures!
*whimper* I miss Game Crazy...

I went there yesterday, it didn't seem too picked over IMO, the only problem was that I came across the same issue as I did with my local GC in Frederick: every used game I picked up they couldn't find the disc for... anyone else having this problem?

On the plus side they still had a sealed Assassin's Creed 1 LE for 360 so I picked that up for $20.

I drove by my local store this morning on the way to church and noticed it said "Last 4 Days" but still was advertising only 30 - 50% off. Last I was in there (25%) they still had PLENTY of stuff. Are the stores really closing this week or is that just a tactic to get more people in the store? Really hoping to wait until 40% to jump on Dirt 2 360.

The signs along the road by the hazel dell/vancouver game crazy said up to 50% off. but the only thing actually at 50% off is the ps2 games, right? Everything else is 30% or less?

Yeah, that sounds little fishy. I saw the LE games but I already own all of them (regular editions). I think I'll only bite when it's at least 40% off. That RE5 one looks pretty good.

yeah I just went in and my store had the same sign up...the only thing 50% off are PS2 games and a couple Guitar Hero 3 bundles...

i was talking with the clerk and he told me when I was leaving to "check back Friday when they will be going up to 40% off." I dont know if this is for all locations or just mine but I thought I would post...

nope, if the store says four days, it's four days total. stores ARE shutting down at 25 and 30% off. All product left is being shipped to high volume stores where it will continue to be discounted until it's eventually 80% and 90% off at some point in July.

Idk bout that though Scorch.. My store was closing a few weeks ago.. They didn't clear out enough stock so they actually added a few days to their sign

I think my store is going to be one that will be open through July. When asked how long that be staying open, the manager said
"until everything's gone". It is a pretty busy store
so that would line up with what scorch posted.

One of my local Movie Galleries closed recently. The thing is that it started the liquidation process the same time that all the other stores did (around 3 or 4 weeks ago). I was pretty disappointed when I saw that the shelves were empty.
it was upped to 40% today, or so I heard.
Any confirmation? I don't want to waste a trip!
