EB stores are clearing out all used pc games from their inventory. On Thursday 7/13/06 they were all marked down to a penny. YMMV since a lot of EB stores don't have any more PC games, but the ones that do will have them for a penny.

Sucks... I just bought alot the last few months.

I can't really complain though... they were all 99 cents - $4.99, and I think I cleared out all the stores.

Will they sell them for a penny, or are they supposed to be field destroyed? I'd kinda go to some stores and see what they have left but not if I just get the "Oh, we can't sell that" speech.

I'm also curious. And is this confirmed at all EB stores nationwide? And what about at Gamestop and Babbages?

Gamestop never sold used PC games.

Wow, I was at an EB a couple days ago that had several hundred used PC games complete with boxes and manuals. Even though I don't play PC games, might be worth grabbing a few for trade bait. Only game I remember off the top of my head is Guy Game, which I didn't even know came out on PC.

Hmmmmm....I wonder if any of the EBs at the malls I go to still have 'em....one of them had a good rack of them, but that was a couple weeks ago....and the other one....I haven't been back for a good long while. Oh well, I guess I'll give it a whirl today.

I called a Eb games in the dfw area to find out if they had pc games and the man said "we no longer carry them we got rid of them yesterday"
 
I would kill for a penny copy of Pirates! The EB nearest me had some games leftover though. I remember seeing like 4 copies of Call of Duty (which I never got a chance to try) so that would be cool. Can't go until tomorrow evening though :cry:
 
Good lord, I'm drowning in deals! On the way home I want to swing by TRU and grab an Action Replay for the Cube, swing by Radioshack for a DS Case, swing by Comp USA to check on this whole sale thingy, and then swing by EB for this now.

Good luck to everybody, but PLEASE PLEASE don't turn this into another anti-EB thread because a cashier is doing their job correctly and refuses to sell you the game for a penny.

Seriously though, it just occured to me that this would be a good chance to use that $2.64 in store credit I got from when I bought a dead copy of Virtua Strikers 2.
 
My EB had 3 racks of used PC games last time I was there, Im gonna go today and see if they still have them. If so, I'm buying the lot ;)
 
just went to eb,all the used pc games were at regular pricing,i didnt want to go there for nothing so i picked up brain age....oh well.
 
Haven't been into a EB in months since they are too far and I have 3 GS so close by. But this is worth a trip just to see what they have left.

Did you take them up to get scanned? Because they would of scanned for a penny.

Btw the ebgames by my house took all the pc games down last night and i saw all of them sitting right next to the computer.

I asked the guy if he could sell them and he told me they have to destroy them. Long story short he wouldn't let me buy any but he did give me Black Hawk down and Battlefield Vietnam for free.:bouncy:

I doubt it. For some reason whenever a new person joins, he thinks everything is going to be marked the way we say it will be. That's one of the rules you need to know, is never to trust a price tag.
 
If anyone gets any decent games and wants to hook up some CAG's let us know. Sadly none of the stores by me even carry used pc games.
 
I just got back from the Ebgames at Tysons Corner Center, in northern VA. They had no used PC games out. I asked and the guy said they didn't carry them.

Oh well.

Hmm, it was actually an Electronics Boutique. I don't know if that matters. Also, I'd never been there before, so I don't know if they used to carry used PC games or not.
 
For some reason my EB doesnt participate in any of these sales. Even those penny guides arent a penny.

My EB sucks.

OK, here's my noob question. Are EBgames prices online the same as in the store? 'Cause I just got back from one and they had a used Shenmue II for Xbox priced at $9.99. I was tempted as the box was in good shape and it had the manual. But being as my wallet is depleted from the CC sale, I passed.

When I got back to my office I checked online and it is showing as $4.99. Would it scan as $4.99? Or can the prices vary?
 
Odd that they wouldn't do a big advertised (at least through in-store signs and maybe a flyer) sale to clear them all out at $1 or something before destroying them.

It's not like they are getting credit from a publisher and are required to destroy them (as is the case with penny guides) but of course it's their business if they want to just can them vs. selling them at close out prices.
 
hit my local eb that had a ton of used pc games last week... nothing at all now...
what's also strange... some really crappy looking copis of games....looked VERY used,,,and triple labled new....strange.....
