I walked into a Blockbuster with $530 in my wallet. I have no financial liabilties already assigned to that money. All of my bills are paid and there is nothing at all I need the money for. I happend to see a used game I wanted on Blockbuster's shelf for $20. It's a game I've already played and beat, but loved every minute of it. MSRP is currently $40, so it's a pretty good deal at $20. However, Blockbuster has 10 used copies for sale. Knowing this, the price will probably be reduced to $15 within time. On the other hand, I could be wrong and the game could sell out at $20. I walked up to the front counter and informed them of the particular game of which they had 10 copies for sale and asked if the price was negotiable, hoping I could get it now for $15 rather than having to wait for the price to drop. Of course, they said 'no' as it was corporate's decision, so I walked out of the store empty-handed even though I wanted the game. Does this catergorize me as a cheap-ass?
In my defense, I have a massive backlog that could keep me busy for months.
