All original credit goes to punkprincess for pointing out this sale. I just wanted to start a thread with more information that I was sure would be constantly updated.

This is an in-store sale and the games will most likely be marked at these prices and in a big bin. Some of them are good for the buy 1 get 1 half-off orange tag sale that is also going on at KB right now. There are many other games that are at these prices, but this is what your fellow CAGs have confirmed and remember seeing so far. Happy Hunting.

As we find more games that are on sale, please post them in this thread with the full name and the system it is for, so that everyone can be on the look out for it. Thanks. (List currently updated through post #234)

Picked up:

Polarium (DS) - $10
Pac-Pix (DS) - $10
Retro Atari (DS) - $5
THUG 2 Remix (PSP) - $10
StarFox Assault (GC) - $10
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat W/O Bongos (GC) - $10

Gonna check tomorrow at the 3 other KBs around here to see if I could trade the DK Jungle Beat for one with Bongos, unless someone on here wants it.

Checked out 2 KB's today, the first one was still putting orange stickers on all the games when I went during lunch.
They had plenty of DS games of Spidey 2, Pac-pix and Polarium. Also Evergrace PS2 and FF:tactics PS1 for $5. Bought one copy of each.
At the second store only had Jungle beat game $10, grandia 2 $10 and alot of PS1 sony memory cards for $ .50 worth noting.
I did see FE: sacred stones, but it rang up $32.99, so it must be the first one that is on sale. Also someone mention they bought Grandia 2 for only $5 when I paid $10 at my store.
Can anyone confirm they are getting different prices for some stuff?
Thanks Guile. This should come in handy for trip #2
Sure thing. It may be missing some of the more recent findings but the gist is there.
Don;t forget I'm looking for Dynsaty Warriors when you go. :D
I actually have my dad looking for that tomorrow for me as well. Ill let him know to get 2 if its there

gah, I guess I got there late because they really didn't have any of the high profile games left. I did find THUG 2 Remix(PSP), Madden DS, Spiderman 2 DS, Pic Pax DS, Polarium DS and a bunch of really old assorted titles(chu chu rocket, panzer dragoon orta, otogi). most of those were old display copies with the cardboard boxes crushed or the dvd cases damaged in some way.

I did score Harvest Moon:Friends of Mineral Town for GBA @ $5.00(also has a $5.00 price grabber rebate!) and Deus Ex 2 for Xbox @ $0.50 after combining with the orange tag deal. I felt really bad for only getting those two after the nice clerk looked through a huge stack of set aside 'clearance' games for me, but I guess that wouldn't be a problem if kaybee didn't have such shitty game presentation. I also feel like a jackass for passing up THUG 2 Remix and Spiderman 2 DS since PGrabber rebates knock them down to $5 each. I also apparently missed out on minish cap by a couple of hours, or it was still there but they couldn't find it.

speaking of the orange tag 50% off sale, does anyone have any insight into that? I'm assuming that just because they're clearanced, that doesn't necessarily mean they're orange tag, right? does the computer take it off automatically? also, how do we tell them apart, anyone have a list of those included?

oh yeah, thanks to both OPs, there are great deals to be found.

The KB's I went to said Ooange tagged vidoe games were excluded. And I don't think any of the games I bought had Orange Tags. Except maybe Mineral Town did.

My haul at the KB at the Plaza Bonita mall in Nat'l City, CA:
$10
Pac Pix DS
NBA Street Vol 3 PS2

$5
Retro Atari DS

Final Fantasy Tactics GH PS1
Wallace and Gromit in Project Zoo PS2
Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits PS2
Bad Boys: Miami Takedown PS2
Starsky and Hutch/Midnight Club II
Strike Force Bowling/Mark Davis Pro Bass Challenge/Highheat 2004

The ones in orange I had no problem getting the buy 1 get 1 half off deal to come up. Great heads up OP.

anyone know if these are nationwide prices. 5 of the games on the list i saw them down indiana but they had 39.99 to 49.99 price tags on them

It seems that "newer" titles may be discounted but not orange tagged (Jungle Beat). Most of the orange tag games seemed to be older games like Return of the King (2003 or older). However, I have no real insight into this. This is just how it seems to me.

if people see extra copies of 5 buck games pick them up I buy them off you ..... i need a bunch of new games to keep me buzzy over the winter : )

might be taking Jan-march off work (how they talk bad winter and dont feel like driving on ice )

im going to be back up in fort wayne around 1pm tomorrow

so if anyone needs

MADDEN 2005 DS
Poker GBA
or
FF dawn of souls GBA

let me know and i grab a copy

Went to the sole KB in town, and picked up the following

Metroid Fusion (x3) - numerous ones left
Donkey Kong Country 2 (x3) - numerous ones left
Wario Ware (GBA)
Spiderman 2 (PSP)
THUG 2 Remix (PSP)
Harvest Moon: Friends Of Mineral Town (GBA)

I didn't see Wario Ware (GBA) on the OP list, so I added it.

All up for dibs if people want 'em. PM if interested.

Should be. At one store I went to THUG 2 Remix was tagged at $49.99. Manager insisted it was $49.99 even though I said I heard it was $10. She said that was for the older game, this was the newer one. I told her there was no other PSP Tony Hawk game and she said I was wrong. I said I'll take the game anway. It rang up for $10 and she said she was sorry.

The supposed reason for this clearance sale is for KB getting out of the video game market.

Some stores might receive stock from other stores closer to Xmas, though by Xmas, they'll be out of games forever. Came from the KB rep at the store I went to.

That would seeme right as the selection has been rather sparse lately. This means more sales coming up, huh? :D

One of the KBs I went to had 20 or so videogames, total. In the entire store.

They had the standard glass cases behind the counter, but they were all completely bare.

The kbtoys I was at had some of the newer games in there, like the newer sports games and some of the newer PSP games. Hopefully those all go on sale in a couple weeks.

That's the hope, at least.

I scanned all the other PSP games there and they all were at regular prices. The real test will be if they do something with the hardware or not, since that one has a PSP, a few new GBA's and a slim PS2 on the shelf. It's the only KB in the whole St. Louis area, too.

Mine had about 50 or so games, most of it crappy-ass stuff that didn't look worth picking up. I picked the cream of the stuff.

I'll pay someone $15 shipped for a Pac Pix for DS... no KB's around me, unfortuantely.

Ok, I'll do $15 shipped for any of these games... help a CAG out with no KB around :(

Jungle Beat
Crisis Zone w/ gun (I might do more for shipping because it's heavy)
Pac Pix

Maybe Tony Hawk PSP.

man now i got to get back down around indy tomorrow by 10 cause i know they had that game in stock... BUT last time they said there was a sale medal of honor sun game for gamecube... the rung it all the way to checkout and it was still 49.99 and someone said here it was 5 or 10

either way i think im going back tomorrow to grab that FF dawn of souls

That is the main reason I am holding off on a PSP and DS right now. I hate to see KB stop selling games though. The only places in town for me will be K-Mart, Walmart and the flea market. 30 miles to the nearest Gamestop or EB for me.

Bad news for NJ CAGs. I just got back from the Bridgewater store, and the hoarders hit there as well. I had a conversation with the manager, and apparently, at the regional KB manager's meeting this afternoon, they were topic of conversation. It seems that they have hit just about every KB in NJ (confirmed for Piscataway, Westfield, Woodbridge, Jersey Gardens, Freehold, Brick, Toms River, W. Caldwell, Paramus, Wayne, Secaucus & Livingston). In her store alone, they spent $1700 (she showed me the transaction log.)

Slim pickins' guys, slim pickins left.

If they spent about $1000 in each store, thats $12K (close enough to the $10K the one guy told me this afternoon) or 1200 games (using $7.50 as the mixed price point of $5 & $10).

ok hit the Bossier City(pierre bossier mall) and Shreveport(st vincents mall) The BC only had a small basket on the counter. I pulled a mario pinball for $10 also saw metal arms ps2 and Gt 4. The Shrevport Kaybee looked to be abust at first had a basket with only like 10 games. I was bummed until I noticed a 5 foot display at the front of the store. Scored Star Fox assualt for 10 and super dodge for 10 both orange tagged. So total of 15.
The supposed reason for this clearance sale is for KB getting out of the video game market.
That's odd because all three KB's in our area actually have a veruy good selection of games. Hence the haul I made.

I hope that means in the coming months other new games will go on drastic clearance for $10.

I even noticed that my KB's just had Mario DDR on the shelves. The first time I had even seen it in a store.

That would suck if KB did stop carrying video games. Yeah their prices suck most of the time but they occasionaly have some good deals (like how they had MGS 3 for $20 before most other stores or that winter clearance yellow dot 75% off sale with games like Zelda Wind Waker for $5)

I dont think its hoarders that are doing this.. Small Video game trader stores buy up as much of the stuff that they can find... I remember few years back Best buy Reduced all their Saturn stuff down to 1.99 . well when i went there everything was wipped out, So i took this one ps1 game over to trade it in and the worker dude told me

Dude: did you see the BB sale
Me: Yea everything was gone
Dude: want to know why
Me: why
Dude: The owner made me and a few other guys drive though the entire midwest buying up every single game... Man we must had around 2,000 games by the time all 4 of us got back ...

funny thing is that place is now sitting on at least 1500-1800 of those games cause 99% of them either suck or few people even owned a Saturn .. well they was sitting on them forgot to add about a year Later they was selling them off to some wholesaler for a buck a piece... they said they made a nice profit even selling the reminding items for less then they paid

i hate stores like that, i mean the dude was bragging about taking all of the games... Man I would love to see A major Game trader chain come in here and Wipe them out ..

After deciding to show up at Ross Park instead of taking the person over the phones number I was able to score a hefty amount while leaving a ton left over for anyone else in my area. Everything I got I'm willing to trade or sell at a fair price. I plan on keeping what I really want and just placing the rest on my sale/tradelist to help pay off the cost and pick up fair trade games.

Private Message me if you're interested in these games to get dibs on them before I put them in my tradelist in the next couple of days:

I'd consider them hoarders.

Um....

I got a sealed longbox copy of Discworld at this sale. Along with sealed longbox copies of Wipeout, A-Train, and Descent.

I will post a pic later.

If someone could pick me up a Zelda: Minish Cap, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, and Metroid Fusion.

Some combination of these or all of these would be awesome. If anyone can, please let me know. I'll pay cost + shipping + extra for your time.
Agreed.
i consider a hoarder a single person buying games to resell

i dont consider a store doing the same thing a hoarder i think its 100x worse though i dont have a name for them that i can say on the boards : )

and
I dont have a ps1 mouse..(would a ps2 mouse work on that game???)

i picked up 2 power mouses for the ps2 off best buy month ago for penny

I piecked up a bunch of GBC games that were orange tagged AND on clearance....

Ended up with:

Super Bubble Pop

Monopoly Party
Sphinx
Rebel Strike

GBA
Tactics Ogre
Breath of Fire

Duke Nukem

GBC
Dragon Warrior III - Sealed and mint!!
Zelda Oracle of Ages
Pokemon Puzzle League

A lot of the GB games were opened and in beat up boxes though. But at $5-$10 each, I couldn't say no

Shit shit shit. I guess I'll have to make a dash for this after work tomorrow, since I didn't get home until well past when any KB would have closed tonight.

the only thing worth mention is mega man xteme and GTA for gameboy color, but didnt pick those up since i only got a DS right now.

I didn't even think to look....but are all of the games out in a bin or are there some still behind the glass with the normally priced games?

When I went they had a bin with games in it (very few, nothing good), but I didn't even look in the glass cases as they keep the games behind the counter and it's a pain trying to see past the cashier. So is anyone finding these games still behind the counter?
