Well I heard part of the Venom stuff was not necessarily just Sony but Marvel bitched and moaned and forced Raimi to have to include Venom.
I believe Sony realized they

ed up and were all cool about 4 then they had to

with Raimi again, imposing their creative control, he said

you, left and Maguire and Dunst left with him.
Sony should have trusted that Raimi could make it good if they would just leave him alone but that can't be, no it's the Vulture and he's an old man, he can't be scary!!! rolls eyes.
It's worth noting about Raimi and wanting only Sandman because he was the only interesting character in that entire pos pretty much. The rare exceptions were a few moments with Maguire and the other guy who was Goblin.
Far as this movie goes I'll see it for $4 in theaters here but not more. That being said, the guy playing Parker looking

able on first glance doesn't instill faith in me. Maguire kinda looks awkward from the getgo so you can believe the nerdy part but you can see past that and see how he could secretly be hot. Parker is suppose to look a bit awkward and not be noticeable at first.
Oh and I wouldn't be surprised if they

up Gwen Stacy's death scene as Goblin will not be in this I assume.
This is Spiderman for the emo scene. So instead of Peter looking unassuming and just blending in, he has to look like he walked out of Twilight.
At least DC has the sense to keep Clark Kent looking like a mild mannered reporter. Next thing you know they'll have him looking like this douchebag does.
edit- From what i've seen, Denis Leary may be the best part of the movie.
