Amazon 30% off all regular priced Blu-rays including pre-orders!

Well they must have changed mine today because I changed my payment option to gift card and just looked at the price. It went from 39.99 with a grand total of 0.00 to 34.99 and the grand total of -5.00. Now I'm wondering if I will get the 5 back to my gift card and they still owe me 10 dollars for bluray purchase due to me trading in over 50 bucks worth of dvds.
I'm a fan of the awesome and cheesy as hell so no judging! O_O
I preordered:
Witchblade: The Complete Series (No it's not for the boobs lol)
Samurai Champloo: The Complete Series
Basilisk: The Complete Series

Everything else I want is out already and it's a bit more than 27 items so if I got them all I would be on the street with a amazon box full of blu-Rays lol. Hopefully this sale is on next week still so I can finally get at least few of the movies on my Wish List that's been there forever. :bouncy:
I had samurai champloo preordered from a couple months back, and it looks like it's still the same price now as it was then. :( Not a BAD price, but I would have liked to have seen it go a little cheaper. Ah well.
The credit will stay on your account, available for a future purchase.
Well then they need to update it to 15.xx because as of right now it is only 10.xx. I'm still wondering about that extra 10 I should get to use on a BD for that promo for trading in 50 dollars or more in dvds.

I wish i knew what was really the difference in the Forrest Gump Chocolate Box gift set besides the big box...because now its only a dollar more than the regular edition on blu-ray....

Did they ship the order yet? The credit won't be applied to your overall unspent balance until then.

Yeah, I was puzzling over that special Forrest Gump Box Set myself. It's like they want it to really be like a box of chocolates--never knowing what you're going to get. :p

I bit. Here is whats in it....

"The Forrest Gump: Sapphire Series Box of Chocolates gift will be available for either DVD or Blu-ray and include the appropriate two-disc package, a "chocolate box" with chocolate scent, a commemorative booklet and a replica Forrest Gump feather bookmark. It will not include actual chocolates as the name implies, unfortunately, but will smell good enough to eat. "

I've only seen one review of Gump on BR and it was positive. I might bite on the Choco box.

Not sure why Amazon raised the price on Star Trek, but I did my pre-order a while ago when it was $22.99. I'm just going to keep it like that for now. Yay for pre-order price guarantee. I just wish I knew if I should keep my Amazon Up pre-order, or get it from BB?

Amazon still has them both for $19.99 and $19.49 respectively.

You can pick up Star Trek (2009) @ BB for $15.99 right now, if you order one of the stand-alone BR movies with it in the same order, as it'll take $10 off your order when you order both movies.

Info here:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcmcat191700050012&type=category

The movies are ST2, ST4, ST6 and ST: First Contact. It'll take $5 off each movie, so the movies are $12.49 each and ST (2009) is $15.99.

Best deal I can think of at this time for the new Star Trek movie.

I was hoping Shaun ofthe Dead would drop to 13.99.

FYI...Hot Fuzz is now 13.99 on blu ray at amazon. I'm holding out hope they drop the price on Shaun too though.

Thanks.

I might endure in-store pick up to do that deal instead then.

Well I bit the bullet and preorder some blu's.

Did Forrest Gump CBGS it was only a doller more then the standard.

G.I. Joe, Terminator Salvation, and Harry Potter. The prices were to good to not get them. The only one I didn't get was Star Trek hopefully the closer it gets the the release it might drop in price.

Also found out that Overstock.com has Star Trek for $18.99

That's a really sweet deal if you pick them up in store.

Worthy of its own thread if you're askin me.

Which nobody did...
Glad I could help.
HUGE help as always, shrike. Though not to my wallet :D.

Just ordered for store pickup on Star Trek and ST First Contact, $30 all together with tax.

Now...whether or not to go crazy and order a few more preorders from amazon. Decisions, decisions...

I'm not a Trek fan and I have yet to see the new Trek movie, but $30 for two is too good a deal to pass up. Even if I don't like them I can easily get rid of them. Thanks

Which nobody did...
It's mentioned in the weekly thread for BB for this week:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6438610&postcount=51

Without the 30% off discount right now, it's a lukewarm deal, as Star Trek (2009) is $30 and the other movies are $25 right now. 30% added on top of that knocking them down to $21 and $17.50 respectively, plus the $5 extra per movie, that makes it a very good deal indeed.

Aren't up and monsters inc. good deals with the extra 30%? I don't see much chatter about this so maybe something better is out there or expected?

I wish I could lock in the $24.49 price for Up with in-store p/u @ BB, but I did the Steelbook pre-order thing--I don't think there's a way for them to count what I paid for the pre-order towards any new orders for the BR.

It has it's own thread, since Amazon is also offering an extra $10 off

How does Amazon's "Automatic Pre-order Price Protection" work do you have to e-mail them when something you pre-ordered drops in price or do they drop it on your order for you?
How does Amazon's "Automatic Pre-order Price Protection" work do you have to e-mail them when something you pre-ordered drops in price or do they drop it on your order for you?
It's supposed to happen automatically, though with some of these temporary sales they might do on items, I have been getting in the habit of emailing them while the price is still good. Usually, it's more often than not with the system doing it on its down, though I never want to take a chance when they do price matching to another site having it cheaper.

Thanks for the info and quick reply.

Few pre-releases dropped a buck from $20.99

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra - $19.99
Night of the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian - $19.99
The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 - $19.99

I'm eyeballing Rocky: The Undisouted Collection...I'm dying to own it on HD but something tells me there'll be a BF deal on this....though it's currently at $52.49 for seven discs; that's $7.49 a disc or $8.75 if you exclude the bonus content disc...decisions, decisions....

nice prices on g.i joe (underated movie, better than trans 2) and pelham 123

is this amazon sale ending tonight?

Just to let you all know... I did the BB in-store pick up. I was able to return the "filler" movie so I hopefully will be getting the new Star Trek movie for $15 or whatever the sale price was. Thanks

Thanks for the heads up OP. Here is what I bought:

The Bourne Trilogy
Hot Fuzz
Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan

Got it all for $83. :)

INCLUDING pre-orders, always with the pre-orders nowdays. At least it includes regular goods that you can actually obtain, thank OP I'll scope out some and report back.
smile

Pre-ordered Terminator Salvation and G.I. Joe. Wasn't going to get these movies but the prices were too good.

I picked up Hot Fuzz, Army of Darkness, The Hangover, GI Joe and Funny People.

Grand Total of 86.95. That might go down a bit if the preorders drop but still that's a hell of a deal. :) Thanks OP. I wanted to get Shaun of the Dead for 13.99 but they never dropped it. I'll just wait it out.

Anyone know if canceling items in an order and then calling Amazon to manually combine works?

I ordered Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels because I got them in my Goldbox, but I'm not so sure I want the movies I pre-ordered them with anymore. Hopefully I can combine 3 separate orders:

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels + 500 Days of Summer
Snatch + Inglorious Basterds
Harry Potter 5 + the Hangover

into LS2SB, Snatch, and HP5.
Star Trek (2009) is now $22.99!

Courtesy to djblaze805! :D
Thanks for the props. Totally forgot to add it here. Sorry 'bout that.

It was also in my Gold Box. $21.84 total. I'm happy.

Oh yeah, I forgot I pre-ordered mine when it was in my gold box a couple months back...$21.84 for me too.

Canceling Best Buy pre-order tomorrow.

Can you just purchase it again and cancel the first order if it doesn't correct itself?
How long should we wait to see the drop before doing something about it?
