Thanks for the info. I see it as OOS when I checked.
Toon Link right now at Amazon.ca. Ships on the 20th of February.

I was surprised the EB one went OOS as fast as it did; it wasn't shared on RFD at the time by anyone. So, either EB didn't have alot of stock to begin with... or a guest viewing this thread hoarded.

EDIT: wow, nevermind, sold out as soon as I posted.

I still think this whole thing is hilarious, sad, and ridiculous. Most people collecting, hoarding, and trading amiibo aren't even Smash players, and worst of all most aren't even using the damned things. I really hope Nintendo wisens the fuck up and just reprints every single amiibo thousands of times over so we never have to deal with this again.

Well yeah, they will. You guys suggested Toon Link is common, or will be. But if you glance over completed listings on eBay plenty of them have sold in the $30-$50 range.
People are impatient, that's all. Once the rest of the stock for Sheik and co ship to here, I highly doubt people would continue paying these ridiculous prices.

It's even more absurd that people are willing to spend double the MSRP price to begin with. Purchasing Amiibos at $30 and up, will only encourage more scalping and more price gouging.

Nintendo needs to get their act together on this, because they could be making more money if they made more quantities.

Marth and WFT were obviously going to be hard to find. Anything Fire Emblem usually is.

I don't see how that's obvious. I've had no problem buying every single Fire Emblem game brand new, many of which cost me less than the MSRP.

Fire Emblem was a niche series in North America until Awakening came along. Most of the games in the series are either hard to find now, or are expensive.

Either way, with Nintendo making more Marths lets hope they actually make more than enough this time.

Mario Party 10 - Amiibo bundle pre-order back in stock (Mario Amiibo Super Mario Series only with Mario Party 10 for now)
http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00S7O6R9O
So I wandered into a local EB and overheard somebody attempting to preorder this bundle. The clerk was like "lol no you stupid customer, we pre-soldout of that bundle within 7 minutes of it being available", then sold the customer on preordering the standard edition of the game.

It's still readily available on Amazon. The Amiibo market is being driven by stupids.

Amazon.ca won't always ship on day one though, while EB in store typically pre-orders only what they will get for first-day delivery in stores.

Amiibo availability is tough to predict.

new amiibo price in Canada for amiibos released April 1, 2015 and later: $15.99 CAD instead of $13.99

Gold Mario was postee today on Amazon canada, now OOS

Well, I guess I'm done buying Amiibo's. There's no way I'm paying $16.

That aside, for those of us that don't even care to pay the current MSRP. RCSS never has a lot of Amiibo's in stock, but they have no-tax on the 21st (in Vancouver, donno about elsewhere). Worth a look to see what you find.

This is what I hate about the current amiibo situation. I went to work, and came home to find out that Gold Mario had been announced, put up for pre-order, and sold out while I was at work. The same thing happened to day with both Best Buy and Future Shop. I go to work, and come home to find out that the entire lifespan of the amiibo began and ended while I was out.

Screw this.

Toys R Us is having a 3 for $30 on Amiibo this week (starting today) and the Mario Party line just released (first wave of it). You can in fact use the 'cineplexholiday' promo code on their website and get 4 Amiibo for $30, but their online selection is limited.

On the subject of collecting;

My suggestion is just buy whatever characters you like and don't fret over missing out on a few, or feel the need to collect them all. We're likely to never see figures some characters like Captain Falcon, Duck Hunt Dog, or Robin outside of Amiibo, so those are the ones I'm most interested in. I don't really need Mario, given we have a half dozen better looking Mario figures already. It sucks that something like Ness will probably be tough to come by, I'm not going to lose sleep over it, or spend dozens of hours per week going to stores trying to score one. Just buy more casually, let the stress go.

Walmart has the Gold Mario amiibo up on their site, but it won't allow you to pre-order for some reason. Also, I was under the assumption that it was exclusive to Walmart, yet Best Buy/Amazon had it up already.

Does this mean EB will get it too?

Does it matter? How can anyone support something that has line-ups for fucking pre-orders... fuck Amiibos until Nintendo get their heads out of their asses.

It doesn't matter now anyway, they're sold out. Pisses me off. I tried all morning. I enjoy collecting them, despite Nintendo's terrible handling of them.

I was able to get all of Wave 4 this morning at EBGames, which I assume by now they're probably sold out.

They also have a listing for Ness, but it's only third-party sellers, since it's supposed to be a Gamestop exclusive.

It's not like you'd get them anyway. I pre-ordered first day, and just got a call from EB. Seems Nintendo won't have enough Lucina and Robin so I'm not getting mine...

They told me to keep my pre-order just encase they get more.

Ouch that's worst. It's like you're all settled in thinking you'll get it just to get kick by stupid nintendo again.

At least I have priority if they do get more in stock. Funny thing is, I was the 6th one to pre-order. It amazes me how Nintendo continues to not understand supply and demand with these.

I just hope I can get my hands on Marth next month >_>.

Considering the Amiibo stock situation in Japan (and Europe to a degree) is much better than here, it's no wonder why it'll take them longer to respond to the issues. NCL moves like a snail to resolve issues outside of Japan.
