Yup, same here. I almost never replay games, but I've played through Dead Space 3 times and got all the achievements (which is another thing I almost never care to do). And for those who say the game relies only on jump scares, that's just not true. Sure it has plenty of those, and on a first playthrough, they may seem to overshadow other things, but even when I replayed the game knowing where all the jump-scares were, the atmosphere was still always tense, and the music was creepy even when nothing was around. This was especially noticeable on my recent playthrough on Impossible. Also the Dead Space series is one of the rare series that actually has a story that interests me, and seems well thought out. This alone has me interested enough to want to play the full sequel right away.
Exactly! It's rare for a game to even have a good story, but Visceral has gone all out and created an entire mythos for this one. One that is extremely engrossing, if I might add. It pulls you in and never lets go. I'm concerned about Isaac, curious about Nicole, intrigued about Unitology, and interested in the origins of the necromorphs and the Marker. It's fantastic!
And besides the story, everything about the game worked. There was nothing that had me saying, "Oh, well, I wish they would have done this." Everything worked, and it was new and exciting. They took risks with this game, and they paid off fantastically. The dismemberment system is awesome, and the integrated HUD had me totally absorbed into the action. This game was pure win from the moment Isaac stepped off the shuttle to the surprise ending. Simply put, it was

ing awesome!
If you didn't care to read the text above, at least take this piece of advice:
