Didn't see any threads or any other info on this anywhere on CAG so I decided to make a thread for it. AS stated in the title the LittleBigPlanet GOTY Edition will be $49.99 or at least thats the price as of now. Anyone else notice that you get $5 worth of MP3s for buying this game? I see the same promo applies to Uncharted 2, Wii Sports Resort and a whole bunch of other games.

However, the promo says "Promotional offer is valid from August 5, 2009 through August 31, 2009 and subject to change. You must redeem the credit by September 30, 2009." Uncharted doesn't ship until October and who knows when LBP:GoTY ships?

I was actually calculating how much it would cost me if I downloaded all the DLC for every PS3 game that I have and the total for LBP came out to $84.76. That's a lot of money for costumes and stickers that don't affect gameplay :O.
 
Man I've wanted to buy this game for awhile but the price does not drop below 40. I've held off on picking it up after renting but the dlc has been terrible. They have pumped out so many costumes that are so stupid. Why can't they make more things like the MGS pack.
 
fascinating... I'm willing to bet the content is nothing more than those creator packs and maybe a costume or two at best
 
This isn't really my cup of tea, but I have a younger sister who's been dieing to play this, and her birthday is coming up.

I was hoping for either a GOTY version or a drop to $30 and I got the GOTY!

I like the game, but got my PS3 at a time when the future of LBP's community was in doubt.

So do I, but since the first patch removed the "offensive" audio track, not really sure why that matters.

I hate GOTY editions. Makes me feel as if my original copies of the games are practically worthless and not functional. :bomb:
 
If I had to wager a guess I'd say the extra bonus content would be mostly non-outside-ip related costumes and creator packs...stuff like the Animal costumes, the Norse and Egyptian costumes, and the upcoming History Costumes and Kit. Admittedly, all this stuff would come in just shy of 30$, but I'm sure they could justify it by including some of the limited-time-only costumes, stuff that's yet to come, or by saying "it's a 30$ value...if you buy the costumes seperately instead of in packs"
 
Still $20 too expensive for me. I'll wait for $30.

Thanks though OP for noting the release date. I'm sure there's lots of people who are going to jump on that version.

Doesn't take much to make you feel inadequate does it?
 
Just go to Half.com and buy a used regular edition. There are a couple for 26-27 bucks if you dont care about DLC.

I don't really care about DLC but aren't some DLCs almost a must as far as "funability" goes. Like some of the level update stuff, or some of the costumes. I don't know enough about the DLC
 
LBP GOTY is worth full price to anyone who never played the game...but only if it includes substantial DLC. Otherwise...dunno.


BTW Keavy Rains your avatar scares the livin' crap outa me 0.o It's a slow-burn kinda scare where the longer I stare at your avatar the more intense the "freak out" grows, lol. It's a very "Steven King" kinda vibe ;-)

Well I still have a version that has the offensive track since I didn't ever download the patch to that game. I bought another version to play. Does anyone know how much it would get if I sold it with the offensive audio track? It is used but only played a couple times.
