Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.
if you get them back, it's luck. the system gets confused when an order is canceled or returned, etc. this happens differently depending on the type of promo it is as well. there are emails pre created for making exceptions and re-issuing promos that were used on canceled orders.
Stop posting useless misinformation, thanks.

Well, we were all given two expiration dates, but the earliest of them was end of April. I'd try to use it by then just to be safe.

may 13, 2010.

and jodou, i pm'd you, regarding my "misinformation"

I can verify that these credits will disapear if you cancel the order they are on, since it happened to me just the other night. I emailed customer service & they gave it back to me, but in the email they sent it said they are treated like coupons, and if you cancel you don't get them back.

Maybe some people have had different experiences...but I'd say cancel an order with the credit already applied at your own risk.
Thats a slap in the face on dragon age origins for those of us getting the more expensive CE the 10 bonus credit wont apply.
Now you know how I feel with teh Ultimate Edition of GoW3. It makes no sense.

I'll have to pre-order battlefield, but first I have a few questions. Will I get battlefield the day it comes out, or will that be the day it ships and I won't get it till Wednesday or Thursday? And... If I buy one of the xbox live arcade games from amazon do they just e-mail you a code?

You can get "release-date delivery" which means you get it on release day (March 2).

Just to add to that, release day delivery is free for prime members, otherwise it costs extra

Yes, good point. And for those that haven't seen this, there are free trials of prime available [see thread].

I am currently on a 3 month trial and love it! When the trial run out I think I am going to sign up for a year and split the cost with some people in my house (with prime you can have up to four additional accounts on the same prime membership as long as they ship to the same address).

I HAVE IMPORTANT ADVICE

For those that preordered using the discover promo 10 off 50;

DO NOT EMAIL TO APPLY CREDIT TO THESE ORDERS

customer service will manually change the product price, say 59.99 to 49.99 and deduct your video game credit, thus making your discover promo ineligible, thus leaving you down $10.

I just called them to get my credit back.

Apparently if you email amazon about promo credit you get in a never ending loop about it being automatic lol... I don't think they actually read emails, perhaps they just copy paste something. That's been my experience anyway.

Same here. Yesterday I emailed about the Dante's Inferno credit and they replied back saying "The two promotional certificates for $10 was automatically added to your account, and you won't receive a claim code." Yeah, I specifically said there was $20 on my account from preordering Mag and Bioschock 2, but I was waiting on the credit from Dante's Inferno. Reading our emails would really help.

Sent another email and got them to add a $10 credit to my account. I'm not sure what the holdup is with the credits for Dante's Inferno.

Not for me. I emailed about the Bioshock 2 credit last Wed. Day and a half later, no response, so I called and they gave me a $10 promotional credit right away. Now, this morning, I get an email response with another $10 credit. Not that I'm complaining, but what are they doing over there?

Yup, copy and paste e-mail I got. I assume they were talking about my mass effect 2 credit. I didn't bother e-mailing again.
Still no Dante here either, what is their problem with these.
This is probably the issue:

Dunno' if it was just a fluke and they're going to change it, but I decided to jump on BC2 because of the 20 dollar credit toward a future purchase. I was toying with the idea of the 2 day shipping with the Prime trial and was clicking through the shipping options. I selected release date delivery and it was only 5 dollars.

I went ahead and confirmed the order and it was only 65 dollars with a supposed delivery date of March 2nd. I thought release date delivery was outrageously expensive?

Just thought I'd mention it, if anyone else wants to give it a try.

Was your credit $20? Mine was only 5 and I've been toying with it for awhile and no luck. They e-mail you a code, right?

Yeah. My credit was still $20 and the game price was $59.99. I just thought it odd, because release date delivery is something like 20 dollars extra isn't it (usually?) Except it was only 5 bucks.

For some odd reason it only gave me $5 credit toward T.V. seasons.
Another question, I have standard shipping right now, and it says est delivery is March 8-10, will that change? Has anyone done standard shipping on preorders before? When does it usually deliver?

This has been said twenty times already in this thread: The $20 credit code won't be sent until the game ships....just as your credit card won't be charged then. The TV code is different and in addition to the $20 credit.

Around 4 emails from me with responses, and I finally got credit. Ended up saying this was my last email and that its more hassle than its worth, and they need to correct their automated system.

Got a response that said they viewed my account and it listed that I had 20.01 in my account, and to place an order. If I was not able to use the credit, they would apply the difference to the order.

Emailed them back w/ my order, they added the $10.01 difference, and told me they were sending a tech request to figure out why the system shows me with 20.01 credit, but only $10 showing up at checkout.

So many emails, but finally a /real/ response.

I just noticed that the $10 I got from Mass Effect 2 expires at the end of this month. Sorry if this has been asked, but can I use the $10 to preorder a game that doesn't ship until after the credit expires?

The Show 10 shipps 2 days after my credit expires :|

Of course, I used my MW2 credit on Bioshock 2... Came out three months later than MW2
Bummed that Battlefield went up, I'm not sure if I should order now. $20 credit is mighty tempting though.
If you like shooters, I see this as a very hard deal to pass up.

I think I've spent just as much time (if not more) in the Battlefield Bad Company 2 demo than I have in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Then again, that may not mean much, lol
I'd be willing to bet they add a promo credit a couple of days after it releases, but raise the price back up.
If they do this, they would piss lots of people off. Extending an offer beyond launch is ok, but giving a new credit right after launch is undeniably screwing people.

It's happened before.

Does anyone know much about this pre-order bonus of another episode? It seems it's available from more than one place, so I'm wondering if it won't be free on PSN. Similar to the Joker pre-order bonus for Batman: AA.

I think it was Uncharted 2.

How is it that people are getting charged for Release-Date shipping when I'm not even a Prime member or free trial member and I've got it free on every major release for the passed 6+ months? Does location play a part in that?

This game is a no brainer and to purchase it from Amazon is also a no brainer. I wish Amazon had a special weapon to go with their pre-order like GS....oh well can't get them all.

I'm pretty sure the pre-order only gives you 'early access' to a game mode and a weapon that you can unlock later on.

$20 dollars sounds much better, no matter what pre-order Bonuses GS throws at us.
