Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.
Called customer service and unfortunately since I applied the $10 from a promotion from Final Fantasy if the order was canceled I'd lose the $10 while the $25 could go back the to account. And my other $25 gift card didn't come today. I may just eat the cost on Bad Company 2, as it's still a good deal. I'll use my other gift card on 3D Dot Game heroes or Blazblue Continuum shift. Gotta love these $39.99 games they are putting out.
Wow... I've had like wonderful luck getting old promotion swapped out using my method. ECA codes in all.
Really hope they add The Last Guardian to the credit page along with 3D dot game hero. I got TLG for $50 already on Amazon.
Yeah if they put atleast $5 on 3D Dot Heroes I will be sooo happy . Because it showed up in my quickpicks for $35.12

Amazon has matched Walmart.com's offer for $10 credit with pre-order of Super Street Fighter IV. They have raised the price back to $39.99 though.

That was bound to happen and it's probably a warning sign to anyone looking at new games coming out:

If wal-mart posts -any- kind of gift card deal on a game and amazon has it lower than retail, immediately order a copy off amazon.

Currently 36.99 for PS3. In for one thanks.

I had already pre-ordered SSFIV prior to the $10 future gaming credit promo. Will Amazon automatically add this promo in my order or do I have to call them up to get it?

You're automatically entitled to it. I doubt contacting them now would change anything. They haven't been perfect about getting these things to everyone that should get them so it's possible you might have to contact after release.

I hope you guys talking about preordering/canceling something to get around using a credit realize you can just go to change payment type and unclick the box to use the promo credit...

Sorry if its been asked before but what happens you have two games shipping around the same time with say 10 dollar credit on each. How is amazon,s system with keeping track of multiple credits and I'd assume they'd have to be used on different orders?

I noticed Zhu Zhu Pets has still not been taken off the list. It no longer offers any credit, but it is still $10 less than MSRP.

You can have multiple credits saved in your account (Amazon tracks them just fine) and can apply them to a single order.

Thanks a lot!

this is kind of off topic, but when did amazon change their help page? went to call them and add SSF4 to my order and i'm met with a sleeker looking page.

Pre-ordered SSFIV, can't beat it at a discounted price plus $10 credit. I'm waiting on my credit from Monster Hunter to pre-order NIER so I get $10 off of that too.

ssf4 is really tempting, but i have smg2, mh3, and 3d dot game heroes to look forward to in the upcoming weeks.

plus, i still have ff13 and pokemon right now

Hmmm, Modnation Racers I have been thinking about. Then again, I have a 6-8 game backlog, so I will probably wait.

Really need to find something to blow this $10 Amazon credit on before the end of April though. It sucks that these things expire, I guess that is how they get you :p

Thanks for confirming this. I preordered SSF4 a few weeks ago and used my $10 FFXIII credit on it.

Nice to hear I get another $10 credit now! I think I'll use that towards 3d dot game heroes. Thank you Cheapy!
I'm not seeing release date delivery for SSFIV...
Sorry, I misread Cheapy's OP. It says only some of the games are eligible for release date delivery.

Just pre-ordered super street fighter IV! No tax, 36$ flat, and free shipping with my amazon prime with 10$ back! Man amazon is too sick.

Damn this makes Super Street Fighter 4 really tempting. Through $10 along with my pending $30 from Galaxy 2 and Peace Walker and I might just get Other M for $10.

I'm taking advantage of the Galaxy 2 credit and maybe the Madden 11 credit. Hopefully they add a deal for Metroid:Other M even if it's just the $10 one.
If you already pre-ordered SFIV then the $10 will apply or do we need to cancel and re-order?
It should apply automatically to any pre-order. If it doesn't you can just email Amazon CS and they'll fix it.
Question: If I cancel I preorder which has video game credit applied to it, will I get the credit back?
Yes.

For instance, I had Red Dead Redemption pre-ordered with a $10 gaming credit applied I had from GOW3. I just canceled that pre-order and pre-ordered SSFIV and it applied the $10 gaming credit from GOW3 bring the total down to $26.99.

Once SSFIV ships and I get the $10 gaming credit from that I will pre-order Red Dead Redemption again.
Question: If I cancel I preorder which has video game credit applied to it, will I get the credit back?
like vortextk briefly explained, as long as it hasn't passed the credits expiration date (that's mentioned in the email you got regarding the credit). if you cancel after that date, the credit goes poof.

Man Amazon rocks. Thought for sure they wouldn't PM Wal-Mart with the gaming credit this round they did.

Splinter Cell Conviction is pretty much the only game they won't match. However, for $52 - $5 off (Splinter) at $47 It's only $7 more which isn't that much more considering Dell throws in tax. Plus Amazon ships slightly faster even with free shipping.

Either way Amazon has saved me a ton of money on games. Just a shame they had me blow most of my budget the first six months of the year and I won't have much money post E3 :p

Wait, can someone answer this. If I preordered Reach, I have to wait until Oct. or whenever it comes out to user the $20 promo. But if I preorder SSFIV now, I'll get the $10 which I then can use on Reach if I cancel it and re-pre-order it? And then I'll have to buy ANOTHER game to use the $20 from Reach?

yes.
yes.
So you're saying that if this SSFIV credit expires in August (for arguements sake), it can be used toward a preorder for a game that won't ship till October? I assume as long as the credit is applied to an order before it expires regardless of its shipping date correct?

Yup. Even if the game doesn't ship for another year, as long as you "spent" the credit on a purchase then it'll still apply.

I have a question. If i order all the games that I want that offer this in one order, it will give me the credit for all of them as the get released right?

Correct, you will receive the credit from each game after it has been shipped. It doesn't matter if they are separate orders or one big order.
