Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.

Yeah, like last time for one of my preorders (SSF4) the shipping estimate turned out to be the delivery date. So take that how you may.
Does anyone have much experience with Amazon free shipping for games on pre-orders? It says estimated shipping date for May 24th (next Monday), but it usually is way too late with other games and movies I have gotten as well. Will it probably ship sooner then? (Amazon usually ships to me from an adjacent state too, so it doesn't take long)

(Red Dead Redemption)
My free shipping experience with amazon has been all over the place. The quickest I've ever received a game is 3-4 days after release date. On average for me it's been about a week. The worst has been 2 weeks after release date, but that's only happened once.
Just got my RDR shipping notification, but is says within 2 days I will receive a $10 promo credit. What's up with that?
wouldn't worry about it... just wait see what happens and complain to amazon if it's not right. They will fix it.

Could be that you placed order when the promo was at $10, if you dont get it complain and you will.

Came here to confirm:

Preordered Reach Legendary (I'm s sucker I know) will get $20 promo credit when it ships. Was also emailed a $5 MP3 credit that expired July 15.
Heres the MP3 link

and it takes me a to a blank page...

I got the shipped notice for Red Dead Redemption, no where in the email does it say anything about promotional credit. Can anyone else confirm if their email mentions it?

haven't received the shipping email from RDR yet... but can say that I've never had a shipping email mention the credit.

My e-mail does not mention it
Just wondering, Alan Wake's email mentions that credit, but the RDR didn't.
the shipping email shouldnt mention the credit, but the order confirmation that was sent out when you originally placed the order should say something about a credit.
I was planning to go to Kmart but decided to do a last minute price check and Alan Wake is now 49.99 plus the 10.00 game credit.

wow, i'm gonna call amazon and see if i can get $10 back.

UPDATE: They refunded me $10 back without any hassle since they lowered the price and the game isn't officially release yet. This is why I love amazon.

I know the $20 GC and golden guns code will show up eventually, but I preorded prior to the $5 mp3 deal, however the order went through yesterday/today so will I get the $5 mp3 deal?

It doesn't seem like it.

I've never got mp3 credit on any game I placed an order for prior to mp3 deals being available (unlike the Videogame credit).

It's weird coz they already gave me the $5 mp3 credit for RDR preorder but still no email about the $20 future vg credit, n my order has shipped...

My order has shipped (FSSS) but no emails about the credit and DLC yet. If I don't get them by noon I'm calling them to see what's up (I plan on renting the game until it comes in so I'd like to start playing with the DLC).

I suggest everyone who hasn't gotten word on the credit or codes to sit tight for a little while then try calling/emailing. Amazon has always been really fair.

Are you joking? You're going to call them if you don't get it by noon? The game was just released 7 hours ago and it clearly said it will take 2 business days for you to get your credit.

Pretty much. You guys really need to settle down and read the fine print or past posts. They usually come quickly and to everyone around the same time. Sometimes they don't, in the case of nier or ffxiii for me personally recently, but even those came just a few days after I was expecting them. If it wasn't in your inbox by friday I might e-mail, by like tuesday and I would politely but firmly ask to get it or a response of what's taking so long.

Got a shipping notice for RDR. But FSSS says it won't arrive till Saturday. I want it now! What's the cag view on getting it from a store in the meantime and returning the amazon copy?
Singularity credit seems to be gone too, though?
Ouch, glad I locked that in a few days ago.

I mean yes its $60 and made by a developer that hasn't made a game I've liked since Jedi Academy but $20 credit and free Prototype (a game I was planning to buy anyways). Sold!

Even though most of us pre ordered red dead with the $20 and golden guns when it said receive the credit in two business days after it ships, I noticed yesterday before the game was released amazon changed the wording to say receive the gift card credit and golden guns in 10 business days.

I'm hoping for two days, but I wouldn't be shocked if it took a few days longer, but I did get my split second $10 video game credit this morning and that was less than the two business days. I just found it weird that they changed the store credit part to match the amount of days as the golden gun, maybe cause it's a regular gift card and not just a game credit :\

You're right, I forgot about that. The 2 days is on the games that come with a future game credit. Red Dead has always said 10 days (well, at least since April 30).

I wouldn't call them for the credit not coming in immediately but for the DLC code. I typically get these right away and for it not to come in by now is atypical of Amazon (in my experience) and worth a call to politely ask what the delay is.

Before you file me in the group as those who call to whine, you could do me the courtesy of a follow-up question. I see no reason why a polite inquiry (as opposed to demanding instant delivery) is in any way a "joke".
Singularity credit seems to be gone too, though?
Hit up the version with the graphic novel. It has a $20 credit.

No mention of prototype being included but I suspect it will be.

Temidien, the site clearly said to wait at least 10 business days for the golden guns. I'm sure you will get it sooner than that. I would be shocked if amazon Cs can help you get it right now.

I've pre ordered plenty off amazon and with free dlc and I have never once gotten dlc the same day the game has come out :\

I'm guessing you meant a $20.00 credit

just wanted to let those no plan on picking up alan wake limited edition at kmart the coupon does not seem to be in the system for the limited edition. 2 copies were available at the south attleboro massachusetts store. Amazon.com Gift Card Pre-order Bonus Pre-order your copy of Red Dead
Redemption and get a $20 Amazon.com Gift Card. Additionally you'll receive access to an Amazon exclusive in-game golden gun, which lets you gain fame faster (fame gains you access to in-game side missions). Access code will be e-mailed within ten business days after the game releases. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com, while supplies last. Limit one per customer. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Additional restrictions apply. See gift card details.

This states access code is 10 business days, which is the Golden Guns. But all pre-order bonuses are 10 days and Credit/Gift Card is two days.

Yeah, I figured half way through the post I should mention the GN+Game was the same price as just the game.

I understand that they will officially be released within ten business days of release but considering I've always received them the day of (whether by glitch/luck/divine intervention), I see no harm in asking a CSR if there is anything wrong with my order that would delay my getting the email.

I'm truly not being impatient about this, I'm just curious as to why the email hasn't come in.

I don't know if you care to think this far ahead but every call/email that a CSR has to field is an additional expense to Amazon.

Guess who gets passed the expense?

You can make that argument about nearly everything and if we counted the fractions of penny that interactions with others cost us daily then I'm sure we'd be horrified to learn that we'd have to budget a nickel into our daily expenses.

At the end of the day, I am paying Amazon $X.XX for a product and costumer service (whether I directly use it or not) and if my calling them once every few months about an order means that twenty years from now I'll have contributed to a $0.01 price hike then I guess I didn't screw over my fellow man all too badly.

Way to think at the micro level. :applause:

hey, it's just one plastic bottle...

(my point is, if you don't really need to call them, why are you wasting their time? (and money). Surely you have some games in your backlog to play.)
