Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.
I ordered the damn Spider-Man game off a seller than Amazon because of Amazon's shitty free shipping. I don't have Amazon Prime nor do I want to spend the 80 bucks for it. So I'm trying to convince the seller to cancel my order so I hope she/he does it but I highly doubt it. Would like to have that 10 dollar credit and use it on Dead Rising 2 or on Halo Reach.
Contact Amazon CS... I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.... You haven't paid right? (Sorry, I've never preordered via a 3rd party on Amazon.)

i would never pre-order from a third seller too and i will find it harder to believe that they will offer you the GC credit when you pre-order from their other sellers.

Anywyas, i have this idea that bugs me

I just pre-ordered LittleBigPlanet 2 CE and FIFA 11.
Let's say i get credit from FIFA 11, how would i apply that credit to LBP?
do i have to mess with my order options of my pre-order, considering LBP gets released after 1 month when FIFA 11 is released?
i want to make sure that the FIFA 11 credit go as soon as it comes.

But as of now, credit is not being offered on both.
sucks...:(
It's here. It comes with the concept art book which includes the code in it according to their old bonus description. I dont know why they removed the bonus art book/code info. but as long as you get the one with the book, you should get the code along with it.
Ok thank you, I just didnt see it mentioned anymore, hate to think they got rid of costume for artbook.

Still trying to determine if all the preorder costumes from diff. places are unlockable in the game later on from just playing it

can't really imagine that a 3rd party would have great shipping... most I've dealt with have shipped usps whenever they get around to it.

I have always had to cancel and preorder again in order to apply a gaming credit I acquired after originally preordering. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any other way to do it.

Doesn't hurt to ask customer service. I was successful in applying 2 $20 credits to my Metroid: Other M order about a month ago. I didn't want to cancel because I had the Gold Box promo but what happened was that they lowered the price by $40, which in turn lowered the Gold Box discount because it took a % off the base price.

I've always been able to email customer service to have the credit applied to existing pre orders.
does anyone know how long Halo Reach's credit could last? I'm hoping I can use it for my Christmas shopping
My guess is it will be good until the end of October.
Just got Mafia 2 $10 dollar credit, good until November 30th!
Me, too. Glad I was wrong with the expiration date. Not like it will last that long, though ;)
wish dead rising 2 was on this list
I'm surprised it isnt yet. Walmart has the $10 GC though so I imagine Amazon will match it before long. Will be nice since some of us have it for $48 as it is.

Hey, did you guys know you can check ALL of your promotional credit balances in one place now? Sorry if this is old news, but I just found that if you go to any MP3 download and click the 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' link, it now breaks down all of your credits in categories (not just MP3 credits like before).

very helpful information. I know it used to not show up like that and I did not know it would break it down like that now. thanks

I noticed the other day that you can now apply credit/gift cards to existing orders. So if you have any pre-orders you want to apply credits to, there's no need to cancel the order or e-mail customer service in order to do so.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, fucking finally! This was seriously needed a year ago, but it'll help immensely during the holiday season. Does anyone know if the credits are still retarded and get broken up over multiple games if they're all in one transaction? I remember hating that because I'd have an order for like ten games and it would split a $10 promo credit into $1 off each game.

How do you do this with promotional credits? My preorders still say promotional credits can only be applied when placed.

Has anyone noticed Amazon raised the prices on some games over the past couple of days? LBP 2, NFS Hot Pursuit, Dead Space 2, and Batman Arkham City were 56.99 now they are 59.++.Almost everything that is a new release or preorder has went up to MSRP. Maybe they are going to add credits to them soon.
It may not work with promo credits then. I used a gift card and just assumed it would work the same with promo credits.
fucking. . .

Got my hopes up and dashed them like a prom date that doesn't put out.

You've always been able to apply gift cards and Amazon credit to an open order. You just add them to your account and then click on the invoice and there is a prompt up top to apply them to the order. It's the promo credits that have been the issue and they still cannot be retroactively applied without customer service intervention.

oh gosh...i just looked at the coming soon list:

halo
dead rising
fallout
fable
star wars:fu2
cod black ops
spider-man
donkey kong
kirby
assassins creed BH
dead space 2

FYI anybody who ordered Metroid Other M from Amazon:

They just activated the Release Date delivery option for shipping options. Otherwise, you won't get the game shipped until 9/3 (no idea why).

Not if you use FSSS it doesn't. I've waited as long as five days after release in some cases.

I ordered Metroid several months ago; release day shipping was always an option for me. (I do have Prime, though.)

:360::ps3: NBA Elite 11 $10 credit

The usual promotional banner doesn't appear at the top of either listing, but if you scroll down, under the "Special Offers and Product Promotions" section, it reads:

The promotion code will be applied directly to your Amazon.com account up to two (2) business days after your product ships. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Offer valid for one purchase per customer. Here's how (restrictions apply)

I also locked in the $48 price on DR2. I hope they remember to give me the credit since the order was placed awhile ago.

The $20 from Reach, $10 from this, and I should have enough points for a $25 GC from my CC soon. Good enough to get AC:Brotherhood near free with another $10 bonus.

Let's flood Amazon with "found a lower price" emails and see if we can get them to match Wal-marts $20 credit on Medal of Honor.
Don't forget to remove Madden & NCAA. They came out a few weeks ago and their credits are long gone.
Madden has a $5 credit, nothing for NCAA.

The credit gets applied to pre-orders? do you have to nag customer service or are they pretty good about that?
