Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.
Don't quote me on it, but they say "next gaming purchase", so I don't see why it wouldn't work on a console. Then again, maybe someone has tried and been denied?
I used my $10 from Spider Man on my Halo Reach console.

So after placing my pre-order for Castlevania: LOS a bit earlier, I decided to check out the order on my Amazon account. I then noticed it's not listed in my order history.

I double checked my email, and sure enough, I have the order confirmation and number. But when I try to search that number in my account, nothing comes up. So I don't know if the order went through or not...I have an email confirmation, but no listing on Amazon so I can't cancel or anything.

WTF is going on with Amazon lately? Has their entire tech support team been outsourced as well?

Sent them a CS email to find out the error.

Just got my Reach credit.

"The promotional credit must be used by January 31, 2011"

4 and half months time to use it, definitely will be gone by the end of the month though :D

Just got mine too. Was hopeful they were going to miss the release date delivery as I thought I could leverage some more credit out of them but it looks like things are on track.

That's weird because mine is good until March 31, 2011.

EDIT: Not like it will last that long, though :D

edit: i see it has been posted one page back. maybe next time i should look first =P
Yeah they can shove the laser art cell

I was totally gonna get my toy car on but I guess I'll stick with the regular version for the credit. I guess I'll survive without it and won't have to think up bull excuses now when someone ask me why I have a RC car in my house. :p

Mine is that way too. Granted, how can you check what credits you have? Or can you only see them when you try to order something?

If you go to an mp3 download page, there should be a link titled "Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance" directly underneath the button to purchase the mp3 album. That will give you a breakdown of all your credits.

^That thingy!^

And here's a random MP3 link to get to it . I love this new feature, now I don't have to call for my credit totals anymore or do a dummy checkout.

Got my credit this morning; I have until March 31, 2011.

My package is out for delivery; Release Date wins again! :D Thanks, Amazon!

Whoo! CoD bonus is back! I can't wait to get my... Laser cell art and wallpaper? :/

Sucks to hear about you guys not getting Reach on release day. You should shoot Amazon a nasty e-mail to try and get some compensation for it even if it's your 99 cents. XD

actually if you look at the terms, it makes no mention of applying to previous preorders, so i actually think they won't be giving it on top of the $20.

and i also got my reach credit and it exp in march.

and jackie who are you referring too? who didn't get it release day in this topic?

I just got my $20 credit from Halo Reach. The email said it applies automatically at checkout (I tried adding a game to my cart and it did show up). Does this mean you can't build up a few of them and stack them on a future order of your choice?

You can apply more than 1, but they expire so be careful.

How can I build up more than one credit if it applies the one I have on the next order. Can I buy a game and somehow not use the credit for that order and save it for the next one?

I got it from Bestbuy but never canceled my Amazon order and I'm glad I did because if I was still relying solely on Amazon right now, I'd be pissed.

Wow UPS. Mine has been "Out for delivery" since 5:30 AM. It's 1:10PM now. Shouldn't there be some sort of priority shipping for release day delivery? I'll enjoy Halo...when I get it at 7 tonight probably.

Mine usually always gets set as out for delivery at 5 am and I usually dont get it till around 2pm, but today it was set to out for delivery at like 8am and was here by 10.

My Amazon preorder for Reach (with release date delivery) STILL has not shipped, and I get an email this morning saying "were sorry, we were unable to get your game out t you on time, we'll refund your shipping charges, and your order will SHIP IN THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS"

WTF AMAZON!?!?!?!

Not only do you miss release date delivery, but my game wont even SHIP until another couple of days???

First Metroid (8 days late), now this. My Amazon preorders are officially DONE.

Locked in the $20 credit for Castlevnia preorder now that i got my Halo Reach credit as well. :applause:

Why is there only a $10 credit on standard version of Dead Rising 2 and not the LE. :bomb:

First, relax and then call to complain. Demand compensation for their incompetence if they wish to see future business from you. Then, call around town and find a copy, buy it, and return the amazon copy later.

If you order a second game before your first ships, you'll end up w/ a credit when your first ships and then another when the second ships. This November, I'm going to be buying a bunch of games that will all ship on November 16th. (NFS:HP, LBP2, AC) That means I'm going to end up w/ at least 3 credits that will then go towards the next item I order.

I think the amazon copy may be different than other copies, since it has the pre-order bonus on the inside. Unless everywhere had the helmet bonus

why are some people getting reach credit that expires in jan and others in march? mines exp march and i ordered the regular edition..maybe that's it?

so i emailed amazon in order to have the credit from halo applied to black ops, and they took $20 off and didnt use the credit. so now my black ops order is down to $20 and i can still use the $20 credit from halo. sweetness.

I picked up my copy at Best Buy today, and it includes the helmet bonus.

Could be. Legendary here and it expires in January.

It is good to see they are extending the credits out a little further than before. I remember ones from 6-9 months ago only being good for a month or two. Then the Metroid one I just got was good through November which I thought was pretty good (though I just blew it on WarioWare D.I.Y. the other day). But if they are now doing Jan-Mar that is even better.

Wait, as far as I can tell, there is no credit for LBP 2. I really wish there was as that is the only game I have preordered for this Fall from Amazon. I have both the regular and LE preordered but even if they do add a credit, I'm sure it will be just for the regular version which is annoying as I'll feel like the spread between the two will make the LE seem way too expensive and I'll probably just cancel that (though I'd prefer to get it).

Edit: Yeah, no deal (yet) on LBP 2. Also, I do have another game preordered that comes out the same day, actually: Sly Cooper Collection. Of course, that does not have a credit deal either :bomb:.

UPS delivered Halo Reach to my office at 9:45 AM despite them only receiving it 8 hours prior. I got home an hour later than usual and the UPS guy was just pulling up my block. Did I mention that my office is a five minute drive? Weirdest thing. I'm taking Black Ops day off but going to work just to pick up my copy earlier than UPS would get it to me, haha. Also had my credit when I woke up this morning, also until the end of March.
Gonna try to get a $20 credit for my Reach console, haha.
Any luck with that? I'm currently trying to get some credit but the phone lines are close.

If I you have multiple game credits in your account and you purchase something will amazon know to deduct the game credit that is going to expire the soonest?

Lumps it all together.

On the payment options screen, you can uncheck a box so the credit isn't applied to the order.

Yeah but what happens if I just purchase a $20 game and my account has a total of $40 in credit. $20 credit of it expiring this month and the other $20 next month. Will amazon know to take the game credit expiring the soonest from my account?
