Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.

Almost embarrassed to ask but I've never pre-ordered a game before... I have 70 dollars from trade in credit, if I want to get the $20 credit for Top Spin 4, do I add the pre-ordered game into my cart and check out and then when it's released they take out $65 and then a few business days later they add back $20 gaming credit?

Just wanting to get a feel for how it works.

Yea that's about right. Only thing is the credit you get for trading in can be used for anything and shows up on your available balance. The promotional credit you get for preordering is kind of hidden afterwords, and only shows up during the check out process when buying a game.

Thank you fine sir. Much appreciated.

Does anyone know if KZ3 dropped to $53.99 yesterday, on release day, or today? What was the lowest price in the past 2 days upto release day for KZ3?

Dropped yesterday, didn't change the 2 days before.

Stupid question, since Killzone 3 dropped in price yesterday, shouldn;t the people you preordered at $57.99 get an adjustment as per their preorder price guarantee?

Edit: Just called amazon and they applied a $5 credit to my account

I had to ask also. They gave me a $4 refund.

Did it really change last night? I guess I need to give Amazon a call since I ordered for $57.99 also.

Can Amazon see my customer service chat history? I want to get the $5 credit for the price change, but I've talked to amazon twice since sunday. Sunday I asked about release date shipping not being available, and today I asked about price-matching K-Mart on MLB 11 The Show. Do you think the customer service rep would be less willing to give the refund because of my recent history?

Call them up if you can.

I got my refund, thanks for pointing that out whoever did. Although I still haven't got my email with the codes. Has anyone else who pre-ordered still not got them? I don't want to have to deal with idiotic Amazon CS reps. I mean really, when did Amazon make a rule that there are no refunds unless the change is over $20.00?

It might be a pain but just be persistent with them. I got the $4 adjustment credit to my credit card. Amazon customer service is normally pretty good if you have a justifiable reason like the price change protecting pre-orders. Just state the policy to the customer service rep. I had to do it a few times before he got the ok from the supervisor to do it. Not sure why it wasn't automatic.

I know licensed games are not all that popular, but I just looked at the page for the Green Lantern game coming out in the beginning of June and there is a $20 credit attached.

Does anyone happen to have a screen shot of the killzone 3 price when it was $53.99!!!!
Amazon is not giving me my refund because they said the price dropped on the 23rd and not the 22nd
I wish Amazon would put at least $10 credit on the Show.
Ditto this. Thinking about canceling my preorder if no credit pops up. Weren't there opening day sales on MLB games last year? I can wait a few weeks if need be.

Just screenshot the posters on CAG like me who got a refund. LOL. Seriously just stay persisntent and they will do it. Do you order most of your games through Amazon? If you do you should have some clout. Hey Amazon only game me a $3.99 credit and not $4.00($57.99-$53.99) that they also stated in their email to me. I guess I need to call them up for $.01. JK.

Anyone here ever get a game preordered that they didn't actually order?

Was looking at the Battlefield 3 page earlier, went on to look at other sites, then get an email saying the order was placed for it, and sure enough looking at my account there was a pre-order for it.

Does Amazon not allow you to use your Video Game Credit with a gift card?

I have a gift card for $20 in my cart already (from the Living Social deal a little while back), and I ordered 2 copies of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 recently. Both those copies came with an e-mail saying that I qualify for a $10 video game credit, and it will automatically be applied to my account 2 days after shipping. It shipped on release day last tuesday.

I just added Ghost Trick and Assassins Creed Brotherhood to my cart, for a total of roughly $70. The only thing that showed up in my cart was the -$20 from the Living Social coupon.

Where's my $10 credits?

If they dont show up, contact them. And your most likely gonna end up with 1 $10 dollar credit because they don't usually give 2 credits for the same game, doesn't matter if they are separate consoles.

New feature. Instead of 1-click, it's No-click.

Disturbing. Hasn't happened to me on Amazon, but bizarrely I seem to have a 600+MB piece of Left 4 Dead DLC on my Xbox...I sure hope they didn't charge me for it, because I do not have Left 4 Dead, have never played Left 4 Dead, and will probably never play it (and if I was going to, would buy it on PC anyway).

Mortal Kombat (standard only) now has a $10 credit. Now would be the time to buy since it's $56.99 for now.

Lego Pirates has also had a $10 credit for a few days but I might be the only one excited for that one.

nice was waiting for amazon to add credit to mk!
Is there any kind of credit deal for Dragon Age 2? Or a giftcard somewhere else?
If you live near a Kmart, check out the stickied KmartGamer thread. I'm going to get mine there: 10k points (equivalent of $10) plus get a $50 point card for XBLA/PSN for only $20!

Why no DA 2 credit? With KMart giving $10 in rewards PLUS $30 off a 4000 point card they better step it up or I'm stopping by KMart on the 8th.
I'm kinda mixed on Dragon Age 2, I thought the demo was pretty meh,
but that K-Mart deal looks awesome.
Any opinions on DA:2?
I loved the first one and actually liked the slower combat because it actually made it feel like an RPG. The demo for 2 almost feels like you're playing a Dynasty Warriors game or something. When I first played the demo I didn't really like it...besides the combat feeling like a hackNslash I didn't like the new darkspawn either because the look like a clone army of Skeletors.

However, I went back and gave it another shot and I think it's still a day one release for me. The core game is still there and the auto-attack in the final game should make it feel a little more RPG-ish.

I love action RPGs and the mechanics/systems behind Dragon Age 2 made it a day 1 for me. I had the signature edition preordered since November. I wanted to play DA:O but heard it was 2 P.C. centric so passed it up.

Seriously? There will be auto-attack in the final game like in DA:O? That would be good cuz I was getting tired of button mashing in the demo.

I thought the new moves for the Rogue class was amazing. I thought hand-to-hand with rogue was a bit weak in DA:O, but I'm going to start with this class in DA2 cuz it was so much fun to play in the demo.

Man if they bump Homefront credit up to 20$ I'd be willing to bite. The graphics aren't anything spectacular and the multiplayer looks like CoD with tweaks

Homefront is all about the occupation of the US, think like the occupation of City 17 in Half Life 2. Maybe the graphics aren't as good as say Crysis 2 but still it looks good. I'm waiting for reviews myself and even though these places are giving out 20 dollars credits I find with my backlog lol...
i don't see the credit for Bulletstorm
What do you mean? The credit offer is still there for me

We all have huge backlogs, but backlog or not, if there is 20$ credit then it's basically like a free rental/test drive to me. I have Amazon credit that I didn't pay for so if I buy it, play it, and trade it in while the TIV is at it's initial value of 40$ then I get the experience and my wallet gets to stay fat. Every once in a while there is the game that I enjoy a lot so in that case I keep it.
