Amazon DotD - WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 (Xbox 360) $19.99

Looking at SvR08, this might not be a bad option for some. Only problem is there won't be as many playing online (if anyone cares about that).

Who said anything about hoping for deals on newer stuff? There's been plenty of good deals before. Some of the deals they have had were steals. But as of lately, they've been REALLY bad.

And when you have something like this game that's been offered for DotD REPEATEDLY, it gets a little tiring.

I remember when DotD did some awesome deals for PS2 and DS games.

Prey on Xbox 360 for $12 is what I'd call really good. It just varies.

Two questions:

1.) How is the WWE responsible for the individual actions of one of their employees? If I go murder my gf and kill myself, is my job responsible for that because I worked for them?

2.) Will you purchase a Madden or any other football game that features Michael Vick, a murderer...albeit to a lesser extent?

Well I'll be getting this game at this price so I have Benoit. It will be the last WWE game I will buy and I've bought quite a few.

I don't care when it happens. The comparison to Vick and Benoit is stupid. What Vick did was sick and wrong but what Benoit did was a billion times worse.

WWE stopped selling his merchandise right when the sick details came out, what did Amazon do? Put his DVD on $10 discount and feature it at the top of the page with a news story about how he and his family were dead and when you clicked on it, it went to the DVD for sale.

I didn't buy APF 2k8 and I really wouldn't watch something with OJ. I guess I have more morals than a lot of the blind supporters around here.

Naa, you're just holier than thou. He was a wrestler for the season that the game covers. You can't erase that. Deal with it.

Though this is a conversation for another board, I'm sort of torn by this entire issue. I absolutely see your point, however, there are so many things that we shouldn't buy based on your criteria.

Nothing with an American flag, EVER. How many Native Americans were killed so we could have our "free" country? Talk about murders of women and children...YIKES!

Nothing manufactured or produced by Kraft--how many thousands of children were left without a mother or father due to Phillip Morris and their nefarious ways.


You get my point...What Benoit did was horrific and unimaginable, but you can not erase history. Buying a videogame in which he is a character doesn't support morder, it doesn't condone what he did; you are buying a videogame where he happened to be a character. Just as buying a flag today, doesn't mean that you believe that we were right to slaughter tens of thousands of American Indians.
 
Because people like me are going to buy/rebuy this game as a collector's item since it's the last game Benoit will be in and that brings up ethical concerns about whether we condone his actions or not (which I don't of course.)

I can't help it though if he was my favorite wrestler since Bret Hart retired. Also I have not watched more than 5 hours of WWE programming since he went nuts and I've quit them cold turkey (I still watch TNA though.)

Buying this game in no way, shape or form condones his actions. You see, the WWE didn't tell him to do anything bad. Nor did they release this game after he committed his crime. If you fail to buy this game because of Benoit, you are not sending a message to the WWE or anyone else. What would the message be? "Don't hire people who may eventually become homicidal"? Nobody could predict that.
