F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

The Secret World is awesome, one of my favorite 2012 games ... buy it ... Even if the blood raven looks a little weird ... I swear you can't see it flying behind you because it always lands before you stop and turn the camera ... and it sort of moves like a pigeon ...

I might just pull the trigger on The Secret World so I can register it for 2012. Just what do I get for doing so before the registration period ends (less than 2 hrs PST)?

A late-game content pack that will cost $5 later and an Initiate Pack that currently sells for $15 which includes a raven, some clothes (both cosmetic items), and some low level weapons. Final added cost would be 4.50 for the cosmetic pack if you enjoy the game and buy the Issue 5 content.

There is a very slight possibility that XCOM, Borderlands 2, and NBA 2K13 will get promotions (they are already on the list). We're still thinking about it though.
Yes, please do!

I'm going to cave for Hitman: Absolution for $20; game just looks awesome, had to break my $15 rule for a game.

Also, I'm hoping Far Cry 3 will get a 25% discount while being EC coupon eligible [bring the cost to $33]. I may have to break my rule a second time if this happens.

Thanks for the deals Tony!

It's quite good, but it's MUCH-MUCH different than previous Hitman game names in NUMEROUS WAYS.

Is the Alan Wake franchise pack available on amazon for the same price as Steam? I can't seem to find it. Also I only got 2 EC emails but I've purchased 3 digital downloads on amazon. I hope I get 3 credits tomorrow.
What Severose said. A bunch of us are playing TSW right now. PM me and I'll buy you a copy myself.

Cheers,
Tony
I'm not a fan of the "always online" stuff - it's what prevents me from buying Guild Wars 2 right now.
I wish Diablo 3 would have an optional "offline mode", as well.

I wish TSW would add an "offline mode"...
...or would go cheap REALLY DIRT CHEAP like GMG had it recently - i.e. $5.xx. :p
Though, I don't expect you to say match what the International market is doing - b/c you guys flat-out just don't.
That Sims 3 Pack is already down to $50.

Hope no one with EC coupons jumps the gun and buys it today before they can apply their $5 EC coupon to it.

Sweet, I just noticed Battlefield 3: Premium Service is on the list.
Well, Sims Pack is back to $170, so good, nobody's going to jump the gun now prior to their EC coupon working.
Seems like I won't get my coupon. Well, no money for you then, Amazon.

And fix your shitty e-mail delivery system.
My system shows your backfill as currently queued up. I imagine you'll have your credit in roughly an hour or so.

Happy New Year.

Cheers,
Tony

I guess Santa didn't bring you any class for Christmas~
Tony

any chance of a steam key version of far cry 3 showing up?
About as much chance as Jeff Lloyd Christmas had with Mary Samsonite.

Cheers,
Tony

Dude, I posted about my problem 3 times before in this thread and I also send a PM to Tony - not a single fuck was given.

Being a dick often gets things done in the world we live in.

And thanks Tony, got the e-mail 5 minutes ago.

I disagree. If everyone in the world thought like this, there would just be a bunch of dicks giving shitty responses to things and NOTHING would get done.
Prices suck for being in Editor's Choice List...even with the 5 $ Off you would still pay more than during the Christmas deals :hot:
The prices are still an unknown for the EC list. Some games will be on sale while others may be price matched.

You mean $170 ($165 with EC coupon) for the Sims 3 pack isn't the final price starting tomorrow?

/sarcasm
Nah, I won't stop being nice...I'll just start reposting "beggy" messages here for everyone's enjoyment.
Eeexcellent.
Alan Wake won't make the EC because... it's spot is being reserved for Risen 2.... amirite?!!?

I don't know how I found it a few days ago on Amazon as I was looking to possibly pick it up, because I couldn't repeat the search just now. Google, however, found it right away. Go figure.
I've never been able to find Mafia via the regular search - only could get to it via the holiday present list. I just figured it's going to be a limited time item.

Tony, any chance of a mafia 1/2 bundle outside the EC timeframe? I'd hate to buy the original now only to have it show up in a bundle in a month or so.

and thanks again for the deals.

happy new year everyone...
CAGs,This may not be the best place for this but here it goes. Long story short I got dumped today out of the blue. I'm doing better than I was this morning but it still blows. Anyway, I'm looking for a game to lose myself in the next couple days since I'm off of work. Anybody have any suggestions? What's your "go to" game to take your mind off things? I have amazon and steam credit leftover, plus $20 on psn. I like the community in this thread so that's why I'm asking here. Thanks in advance
I'm late, but I was just gonna suggest Just Cause 2 as well. Nothing takes my mind off things better than blowing shit up in that game.

And sorry 'bout the break up. Bitches be cray, man. Fly solo for awhile.
Most recently I got sucked into APB Reloaded, which took up about 20 hours of my life.
34.5 hours*
The Secret World will be discounted soon on Amazon, so I'd recommend that highly. If you need some people to play with, there's actually a CAG Steam group for the game, if you decide to get into it. PM Idiotekque and he'll get you added to the group. Nothing better to get through a break up than playing games with a couple of buddies.
I'll toss you a PM now (DarkGamer11) so I can get your Steam ID and get you joined up. :)

I read this and was like "Oh! I'm gonna post a reply saying something like: My parents just died and I'm living with my wicked stepmother..." but everyone had the same idea, so never mind.
Buying TSW today for $22.50 vs. tomorrow for $13 + $5.. Is the starter pack stuff worth $4.50? My hunch is that better noob weapons prolly is worth $4.50 until you can twink your new characters.
I'd call the noob weapons worth $2ish, not $4.50, but that's just me. The game does have a steep learning curve, so they are useful while you learn the ropes.

The rest of the value is dependent upon the individual and whether they want the Raven and clothes. I wanted the Raven and clothes (and I also picked it up for $15, so...).

Shouldn't have been a Steam snob and just grabbed it on GG for $19.81 or whatever it is.

Hey! It's asheskitty!
I have a TSW account from either a free weekend or an open beta period. Here are some item shop highlights - $10 for full outfits (very cute stuff), $1-$3 for single clothing items, $3 for 10 extra bank OR inventory slots ($30 to max each). Those were the things that interested me.
There is also AP boosts (no idea what they do). Barber shop & plastic surgeon tickets $1 & $6 respectively. Character rename for $10. Server transfer for $20.

Strictly speaking none of that is absolutly necessary. I personally will prolly have a very hard time not spending a ton on outfits & bank/inventory space. Even now, after Tony's advice, I want to buy the game tonight for the bird and leather jacket! Why couldn't y'all get into Rift?!?!
That doesn't sound very expensive as far as MMOs go, personally. Maple Story is as bad or worse than that, and on that game most clothing isn't permanent. i.e. You buy a shirt and it lasts for 3 months, then disappears.

Also note that once you complete 30 in game missions you get 1200 cash shop points for free, which is $10 worth.
I'm new here and my ignore list now seems to grow by the day.

are we 100% sure that hitman absolution will not be an editor's choice?

There's a 99.99999% chance that it won't be in the editor's choice list. So there's still a chance.

Far be it from me to discourage someone from buying or playing a game, but all these folks wanting to get Mafia 1... it hasn't aged well.

People looking for at least decent, respectable games for cheap EC coupons, I found this:

Garshasp: The Monster Slayer - $1.24
Garshasp: Temple of the Dragon - $1.24

Both activate on Steam.

Couldn't help but notice this in the Metacritic review though:

The only real difficulty comes from fighting the god awful camera angles. Instead of allowing for a rotating, free moving camera like a modern game, the developers decided on using fixed cameras for each zone that automatically go from one angle to another. This wouldn’t be so bad if the switches weren’t so poorly timed. In one sequence, for example, I was expected to do a platforming sequence with the camera facing my character and with no view of any of the platforms. Combining the shoddy camera with the strange layout of the game, I found myself getting lost with no visual cues to set me back on the right track. I was stuck at a dead end for 30 minutes with no clue on how to advance the story.

If you like RPGs and want to lose yourself is a fictional world -- Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout NV
If you want company -- MMOs (Tony is running a sale on TSW in January, plus there is FTP TOR to hold you over)
If you want to vent frustration -- Saints Row 3, GTA IV, CoD

Also, gotta add, right before New Year's fucking Eve? Sorry you are better off without her/him. What a bitch.
