F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

PSN+ Subscriptions and PSN Points:

$20 PSN Points
$50 PSN Points
12 Month PSN+ Subscription
3 Month PSN+ Subscription

We also have a Free-2-Play store supported by our GameConnect technology. Gameconnect allows you to link your Amazon.com account with free-2-play and MMO accounts so that you can buy things like in game currency, premium game time/subscriptions, in game items, etc. on Amazon.com using your Amazon.com payment options and have this content delivered directly into your game.

Cheers,
Tony

Man I just checked my email. I don't even know where these $5 credits came from. I must of missed a development.
This help...

walkonshadows, I'm with you, dude.

Not like it wasn't already a great deal on the DS2 franchise, but knowing that it would've been an even better deal if I had waited a few more days is kinda... yeah. Well, lesson learned, I guess. :|

BF3 premium only goes on sale on the 26th :/
I haven't gotten any of the promo credits yet. I bet those people getting multiple emails are stealing them from me!
kekeke thanks for ur couponz! I got like 5!
You only get one coupon per publisher, I noticed in the post you linked to it sounded like you thought you get one for every game you bought from said publisher.
I've recieved seperate emails notifying me of a $4.99 credit for each individual game I've purchased. That kind of leaves that impression, even though it does say "One per customer" in the fine print.

Two THQ purchases, two emails with $4.99 credits for THQ. I get it, but it could probably be made a lot clearer than it currently is for people who aren't sitting here in gaming forums reading this stuff.

Last minute Xmas gifts. I know someone is getting Darksiders for Christmas.
You only get one coupon per publisher, I noticed in the post you linked to it sounded like you thought you get one for every game you bought from said publisher.
Nope, I know it is one coupon per publisher, I was refering to 2 different things; an EA game (DLC) that is not in EA list, and 2K coupon that I didn't recieve for buying Spec Ops: The Line (and some other 2K games too) sometime ago

I know it is 1 coupon per customer per publisher but I didn't get the "1" 2K coupon

Merry Christmas to everyone :)

It's not that it should be clearer. Tony stated that the multiple emails thing is an unknown glitch. So, he never anticipated this confusion.

I find Amazon's credit system to be muddy in the first place. None of these credits are actually applied to anything I purchase, and I'd hope they're not stockpiling those $15.00 APB credits into my Video Game Credit balance.

whatgr.jpg
Plus, that deal is starting on the 26th if I remember correctly, so probably the priority is getting the other coupons out first to all the customers.

Repeat Q for Tony/CAGers since this thread is going by so fast. Are the prices on the preview page pretty much the prices we'll see during the coupon redemption period, or just the prices as of right now and subject to change (higher or lower)?

Or if Tony has already answered this one or, better yet has returned to celebrating the holidays with his family, I would greatly appreciate if someone else with the answer since I'm going to skip catching up on this thread.
Never mind Tony. Figured out the answer. The prices we are seeing now from the Holiday pages are not necessarily the price we'll get during the coupon redemption period. For example the THQ medly is showing up as $129.94 before when you've announced it will be $9.99 before coupon.

With that Bioshock 2 DLC Microsoft basically pulled an EA and forced you to have to go to them for it. You have to buy it from GFWL Marketplace but it does work with the Steam version of the game.

Yeah, don't trust those counters. Mine said I had a similar amount of mp3 credit and I went to buy some today (Abba is 99 cents btw!) and uh, yeah, didn't have $80+. More like a little over a dollar.

Totally agreed...and I believe that to be the case.

I just picked up Johnny Cash Greatest Hits, but I bought the History Channel's two hour special on Zombies thinking I had at least a few dollars in credits left over. Nope. Luckily it was only a dollar. Two hours of zombie history for a dollar!

Question:

I just got a $5 promotional code for THQ games for use tomorrow only. I noticed that the Saint's Row The Third: The Full Package Bundle is on sale today for $7.50. The first post mentioned it will be on sale tomorrow for $12.50. Is this correct? There wouldn't really be a point to using the $5 credit if the price is just going to shoot up $5 anyways.

The only reason SR3 Full Package is that price is because Steam has it as their daily deal and Amazon price matched them. There's no guarantee that the price will stay 7.49 since they don't have to price match. You're rolling the dice to see if you can get it for even cheaper tomorrow using the coupon. It could happen though and I'm considering it as well.
What are people going to use their EA credit on?
Nothing exciting for me. I think I saw a Harry Potter thing for 5.00 or so.

Tony, maybe you can get EA to bring back Crysis Maximum, Amalur and Alice bundles? so we can use our EA credits? :)

The game is free... Your promo credits were for a holiday gift pack.

Buying anything now to get the 2K credit would defeat the purpose of using the 2K credit. Dammit.

I'll check back at midnight. Even if it shoots up to the $12.50, I wouldn't be losing anything. Really the only thing I wanted the code for anyways.

Edit: Did the EA codes go out yet/did you have to buy an EA bundle to get them?

I'm almost thinking about getting that burning, kicking, scratching, screaming, punching pack too.

You know it's bad when you already have Mirror's Edge on Steam but you are contemplating getting it again in a cheap bundle to have an extra copy on Origin.

I don't see anything else whatsoever to use the THQ coupon on and $7.50 is too high since I already have the game itself so I'm gonna take a chance
Do we know what time the coupons start working because that would definately be the best chance I'm guessing 3 am eastern?

Yes as long as it's by the same publisher that you want the coupon from it should be.

If 99 cent Nexiuz will get you the coupon I don't see why DLC wouldn't.

Yeah, I've bought A LOT of stuff in 2012 from different publishers here from Amazon DVG!
For buying numerous things, I got numerous coupons.
Tony, Amazon DVG & these publishers probably

Tony, thanks for working so hard to bring us great deals. Really means a lot!

I for one don't feel stung by this latest publisher promo. I got great deals these past few weeks. This is just icing on the cake. I will still enjoy good deals next month when I apply my $5 credits.

Back to games. Buy The Walking Dead. It's an emotional journey worth taking. This is coming from a guy who haaates zombies and gore. It's one of the best game stories I've ever experienced.
