F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

PSN+ Subscriptions and PSN Points:

$20 PSN Points
$50 PSN Points
12 Month PSN+ Subscription
3 Month PSN+ Subscription

We also have a Free-2-Play store supported by our GameConnect technology. Gameconnect allows you to link your Amazon.com account with free-2-play and MMO accounts so that you can buy things like in game currency, premium game time/subscriptions, in game items, etc. on Amazon.com using your Amazon.com payment options and have this content delivered directly into your game.
It can also be purchased at GameFly... but it's $10 there for some reason.
Ah okay. I didn't realize that.

It's one of those things that almost never goes on sale but Microsoft did permanently lower the price of it down to $5 a while back. I guess Gamefly never bothered to follow suit.
Holy crap @ all of these UbiSoft, THQ, EA & 2K $5 off coupons I got in my e-mail that can only can be used on tomorrow.
Still waiting to get those in my email. Hmm.. maybe they sent you mine :)
2K Shooter for me. Needed PC copies of Bioshock anyways.
the 2k strategy pack for me, but I'm gonna wait.. I still don't know what's going to happen on the 28th for Civilization.

But not at that price. :p Hopefully a well-written email will get them to lower the price. :)
It hasn't been issued, yet. Tony stated he'd be testing 2K today/tonight.
Thanks!
EDIT:
Oops, got zero from 2K.
I got 3 from EA; 3 from THQ; 1 from Ubi.
Lol same 3, 3, and 1 :D

Or maybe Tony could ask 2K why they let Gamefly have the Bioshock 2 DLC but not Amazon?

I thought it was a Microsoft exclusive but clearly it must not be.
so there not passing out the 2k promo coupons yet because of the packs r on sale right now?
Correct. Those are a lower priority for the moment because that sale doesn't happen until the day after Christmas.

First priority is getting all the coupons out for the publishers whose sale is tomorrow.
I bought Saints Row 2 and Darkspore earlier in the year and no coupons yet. Luckily, I'm a patient man!
How's the port? did you modded it?
Question:

I just got a $5 promotional code for THQ games for use tomorrow only. I noticed that the Saint's Row The Third: The Full Package Bundle is on sale today for $7.50. The first post mentioned it will be on sale tomorrow for $12.50. Is this correct? There wouldn't really be a point to using the $5 credit if the price is just going to shoot up $5 anyways.
They are doing that to satisfy on the whining in the past
10 pages of the thread... Blame your fellow CAGs who complained.
to buy lego lord of the rings or not to buy lego lord of the rings?
I have never gotten a Lego game before
You can download a demo I think but I recommend buying the game.
@TONY
So, w/ the SR3 Season Pass at $4.99 tomorrow...
...does that mean w/ my THQ $5 off coupon tomorrow, it'll be FREE?
:whistle2:X
I haven't gotten my coupon yet, so I can't be sure, but in Tony's original post it says it can only be used for items ABOVE $4.99. So you can't get anything for free.

hmm just wondering cuz the game i want is on sale tomorrow(nba2k13).
i wanted to use 5 dollars off on it and havent received it yet so..

Might use my $3 credit on LOTR, but it could be cheaper next year.

Quick question - can someone verify that buying Nexiuz in the next say, 3 hours will get me a $5 off THQ coupon to use tomorrow? Really interested in Darksiders 2 for $8.

And is Nexiuz the cheapest way to get the THQ coupon at this point in time? I would have bought the SR3 unlockable DLC, but it doesn't appear to be on Amazon. (I think that and Genki Girls are the only two pieces I don't have.)
Might use my $3 credit on LOTR, but it could be cheaper next year.
Well then you just come back and complain about it if that happens, of course.

As of like 2 or 3AM Nexiuz was giving the $5 credit notice so I see not reason why that would be changed now.

I *think* the Darksiders 2 deal is still on but honestly with all the pissing and moaning I don't know anymore.

try buying a darksiders 2 dlc, one of them is 34 cents and i think you do get a coupon after purchase

Regardless of the actual reasoning, Tony said he'd be working on the 2K stuff today/tonight. 2K promo doesn't go into effect until 12/26.

Ooh, that's a thought. Although then I'll end up with two, but WTH, why not. Not like I'll ever play Nexiuz anyway.

And if not, I guess I don't really care about $.32.

I don't think it's clear if it in $4.99 and up or $5 and up.
I *think* the Darksiders 2 deal is still on but honestly with all the pissing and moaning I don't know anymore.
Yeah, I'll be kinda pissed if it's not. I was putting it off until tomorrow, well, I don't know why, but it was advertised as on sale tomorrow so I didn't jump on it when I could have. If they now pull it, I'll be pissed. I even passed on the Steam sale to wait for it tomorrow.

I think someone's getting butthurt either way with this deal.

And I picked up a $.32 piece of DSII DLC. It says it's valid for the $5 credit in January, so I'm hoping that it will be valid for the $5 off tomorrow as well.

Edit: Just got the Promotional e-mails. Both $5 in January and $5 off THQ tomorrow, so that's a hell of a bargin for $.32.

FWIW when I bought the Nexuiz at 2 or 3ish AM this morning I got the $5 christmas voucher email right away in addition to the $5 January best of email.

No, that's another mail. You need to receive the one that says something like "Thank you for your purchase of a THQ Digital Video Game in 2012 from Amazon.com. THQ and Amazon would like to offer you a $5 credit towards any THQ Video Game Sold by Amazon.com and priced higher than $4.99 on 12/25/2012 only."
anyone know of a cheap deal for a EA coupon?
Would love to see Alice return as a deal, but honestly, I'm not seeing much that I want from EA at the moment.
I'm almost thinking about getting that burning, kicking, scratching, screaming, punching pack too.

You know it's bad when you already have Mirror's Edge on Steam but you are contemplating getting it again in a cheap bundle to have an extra copy on Origin.
Does your copy of Mirror's Edge on Steam even come w/ a game-key?
If yes - did you try to activate on Origin?

I bought on Burnout: Paradise & DAO: Ultimate on Steam and those game-keys from there both actually registered-up on Origin.

There'd be a whole lot of unhappy Nexuiz customers too.

There's nothing super cheap EA at the moment really.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st?b...ronic+Arts,n:!11846801,n:979455011&sort=price

Harry Potty and Mass Effect 1 are about $5-ish each. Everything else is $10 or up. They don't have much in the way of EA DLC because EA tends to try to keep that for themselves.

*Edit: And before anyone asks, I tried the free Mac Sims Create a Pet Demo and not it doesn't give you the $5 Christmas voucher.
Hi CAG, is Arma OA Steam?
I'm pretty sure the Arma stuff from Amazon is NOT STEAM; I believe the Publisher is Meridian4; whereas the STEAM version is self-published by Bohemian.

In this case, if you want the STEAM version, you have to buy it from STEAM.

Mirror's Edge on steam doesn't provide a key. I've heard people have still been able to get origin support to add it manually on occasion though.
of course, origin support is notoriously inconsistent rep-to-rep
QFT, sorry guys gotta stop responding and get the backfills done. I'm going dark for a few hours.

Chiming in while my excel eats itself trying to crunch numbers.

Yes, we opted to leave DSII Franchise in place. Also, we're PMing Steam on the $7.49 SRTT FP, which will stay in place until that deal is over and then move to $12.49.

Lastly the program is specifically designed NOT to pass out free games so it is essentially $4.99+ or $5+ (meaning MORE than)

Cheers,
Tony

He works hard for the money. So hard for it honey.

While I know I'm getting the 2k Shooter pack from 2K, I can't think of a damn thing to get from THQ.

I've already got everything from the THQ Medley, Darksiders bundle, Dawn of War Franchise, and all of their first person shooters. Saints Row: The Third is going up in price by exactly five dollars, so there's no point in getting there.

I might just wind up gifting something away, but I'd rather be greedy and find something for myself.

So just to confirm that Darksiders 2 pack is still all individual keys for the DLC and such, right? Also, rawr, Warlock DLC reminder. Thanks!
