Hi CAGs,

I'll be posting deals we're running on Digital Games (PC/Mac, Free to Play, Sony/Microsoft Points/Subs).

I'm also here to answer questions you might have, get you closer to the developers by hosting Q&As, setting up podcasts, live streaming gameplay etc. If I don't respond to a question you have in thread please send me a PM. These ping my email address and make it more likely that I will see your question and respond more quickly.

FYI. EA Games sold by Amazon will not activate on Steam.

F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

PSN+ Subscriptions and PSN Points:

$20 PSN Points
$50 PSN Points
12 Month PSN+ Subscription
3 Month PSN+ Subscription

We also have a Free-2-Play store supported by our GameConnect technology. Gameconnect allows you to link your Amazon.com account with free-2-play and MMO accounts so that you can buy things like in game currency, premium game time/subscriptions, in game items, etc. on Amazon.com using your Amazon.com payment options and have this content delivered directly into your game.

To check out the Free-2-Play games we offer you can visit our storefront here:

As a continuous Mac user since the last millennia, let me shed some light on this. From the late 90s and peaking in the mid-noughties. Mac ports of PC games were often handled by a third party, often a company that specialized in porting. Often the games weren't even ported, but wrapped up in some emulator (to cross both the x86-PowerPC divide as well as the APIs). This practice is still alive, but we fortunately see more titles being released on Mac from the original publisher. When on Steam, the Mac & Win versions are usually (always?) tied to the same key, and signified by:
platform_steamplay.png
Thus when you buy it you get both Mac & Win versions.
Can you elaborate please?
Steamworks means that wherever you buy the game key it WILL be Steam redeemable and doesn't necessarily means it is PC/MAC. However, Amazon and maybe some other places sell Steam redeemable keys for Non-Steamworks games

OK. I caught up on the thread after a week or so away, and I'm confused about three things.

A: Will I be getting a credit for a purchase of the Prototype Pack bought during the Gamespot 2 hour sale? If so, do I need to be looking for an email about that? I haven't received one.

2: What is the source of that Windows 8 reaction shot gif? I swear I've seen that scene, but can't recall where.

And D: Why in the heck am I making this movie reference?

A) No (I also purchased during the 2 hour sale and haven't received one, but have for 2 other games which I bought recently; DLCs, actually, namely Saints Row: The Third Season Pass and Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile)
Can anyone confirm if the Sonic games are Steam redeemable?
Sonic CD, Sonic Generations, and Sonic 4 episodes 1 and 2 are.
It'll be on sale over Black Friday, but still figuring out what the price point will be.

Cheers,
Tony
Thanks Tony, you are great! :D
Just curious... these are ONLY for pc downloads and not for the 360/ps3 versions???
That's what the Thread says "Amazon PCDD"
So yes, PC Download versions only. Welcome to the great prices of PC games.

That's what happens when we leave you alone at home.

I think Tony said the prototype pack purchases would be getting backfilled with promo credit? I think at least a few people have reported they received it already so I do think those qualify.

Nice, well at least now I know. ^^

That'd be awesome if we do end up getting them for purchasing it. :)
Brothers in Arms and sorry didn't notice anything about steam on cod pages, thanks!

I also didn't notice they're only for mac?
My bad, the mac versions aren't Steam, I always forget about those guys.
@Tony Sorry for the insistance but there will be any Dead Island GOTY offer?

Thanks!
Still working on it. Right now I've got approval for $6.75 for a 1 day deal, figuring out when I want to run it.

You will, I'm just buried right now and since the codes don't work until January I will likely create the backfill over the holiday weekend.

I'm in too. Even better if it still has the $5 coupon :D

Tony,

I know you're swamped but I'll just throw out Risen 2 since you mentioned Dead Island and both are Deep Silver games. Any word on a sale for that?
A F2P MMOFPS will never, ever, ever capture the feel of STALKER.
Understandable and agreed for the most part (b/c I love SP games normally more than anything else)...
...but the person said he wanted a Multiplayer Game like STALKER.

Suvarium will be Multiplayer - matter of fact, it's a F2P MMOFPS (online only).
Is there any word for a windows version of the same deal that is currently provided for the mac version of Civ V : gods and kings?
The Mac version activates on Steam and gets you both PC and MAC editions.
Tony, I see you have 6 out of the 14 available DLC for Crusader Kings II in this pack, is there any possiblity that you might be offering a specific nothing but Crusader Kings II DLC pack during this sale or the upcoming holiday sale? I had been hoping to get something like that from Amazon instead of resorting to buying it piecemeal from places like GMG.

The DLC that you currently offer but that isn't in this Pint Sized Paradox Package:

Crusader Kings II: Sword of Islam [Online Game Code]

The Stronghold Collection [Online Game Code]

Hey there,

Sorry I missed this. Currently those titles won't make it into the bundle.

Cheers,
Tony

Sorry to be late to the party- I don't see this in the OP though...

What time of day do these offers go live? ie. for the 11/23 offers- will the price change occur at 12am EST, 12am PST? Other?

Since I'm hearing keys sold out for some other deals- I want to be sure to get on when they go live to avoid that. (I'm looking at you, Dark Souls)
Hey guys,

Quick note, I'll be dropping the Rockstar/Take 2 updates sometime around 11/21.

As if you didn't know already...
I'm so looking forward to hearing the price on Max Payne 3 + Season Pass DLC bundle deal you've mentioned before...

I might fall out of my chair, if it's like $15 or less... ;)

Any chance of the Ryder White DLC being on sale also? I bought the core game and now feel like I should always just wait for complete editions. I'm too cheap to buy DLC that cost more than the base game when on sale.

The Ryder White DLC is extremely terrible. I wouldn't worry about playing it.

We won't have Spec Ops on sale until December. Also, someone check Joystiq :).

Hi Tony,

Will the $5 off Need for Speed Most Wanted coupon that folks received when they purchased the Need For Speed games a few weeks back work with the upcoming sale of the same game?
