It a great game , and it activates fine on origin , and yes it is possible to play against bots in the "single player" mode. Online is still pretty active from time to time as well.

Edit For those having trouble getting BF2 onto origin , try EA customer support , as long as you have a valid serial they should be able to manually add the game to your account. As long as the game is available to buy on origin they can add it to your account . Its what I did for about 7 of my retail and steam copies.

I purchased Fifa 11, in hopes of getting Madden 08 with it as well (since as you mentioned coupon doesn't expire till next month). Any word on Madden 08 so far?

I bought it on Origin a few months ago - fun and does have bot support. I haven't actually tried a non-bot game so I don't know if people still play it online or not.

Awesome, thank you! Are the bots something that are enjoyable or are they painfully bad? I just want to get something for my wife and I to play together and if the online mode is too hard or dies, I would like something with bots but not just a paper cut out shooting gallery.

Anyone that has the Amazon version comment on the game? DRM, EA account for online etc? Thanks again.
 
The bots are godawful, and there is are 64 player matches with bots. Bots are limited to 16 player maps.

Please, don't buy a Battlefield game for offline bot matches.
 
I'm excited that I grabbed Crysis Maximum Edition for $8! I signed into my mom's account, and Amazon offered her to try out Amazon Prime free for 30 days. That saved on shipping. I also used that $5 for $10 voucher I had so it was only $3.05 out of pocket. Should be here Wednesday! :bouncy:

I will try that. Origin support had me uninstall it and reinstall and while it was redownloading my internet went down in a storm. If the problem still occurs this will be my next try at fixing it.

That was the best way I could describe it. My specs are not the issue. I have a Geforce GTX 460 with an i7 processor and plenty of RAM.

The Origin chat support had me try all sorts of things I already tried from either experience or online searching like reinstalling punk buster, deleting temporary files, etc. It seemed to be a wide spread thing a year or so ago. In the end they had me uninstall and reinstall. As I said above my internet went down in the middle of the support chat and while I was beginning to start the download over. Hopefully either a reinstall or the above answer fixes it. *fingers crossed*

Download the 2nd attached dll file that someone posted.

Boot into safe mode and copy it over to the nvidia folder where your current nvd3d9wrap.dll is located.

Restart back to normal and the game should now run!

thanks for all the help guys, will try this later today. hopefully it works, everytime I try to update nvidia it says I don't have compatible hardware which makes no sense.

I believe they had Rage, or maybe I'm imagining things, via digital download. And Rage is a Steamworks game so it needs Steam, unless they have a special non-steam version, atleast the physical copy registers on Steam, that is on PC atleast. Maybe the Mac version doesn't.

Your correct! RAGE does require STEAM.
However, RAGE does not have STEAM-PLAY [STEAM-PLAY means you can play the game on both PC and Mac with 1 OS license]. Thus, to play the Mac version, you need a Mac. Maybe you want the Mac version? Gamefly only has PC version on sale.

I got the Bad Company 2 and Vietnam expansion from this sale. There is enough people to get a game on both the regular and expansion (less on Vietnam though). I would recommend it.

I did have trouble getting it to run right and it turned out to be an easy fix. If you do go ahead and buy it, but have problems, shoot me a PM and I'll help you fix it.

I would definitely buy it though.

I recently bought Crysis and couldn't get it to activate on steam. There was, however a way to register it on the EA site. Once I did that I was able to get EA support to add it to my games on Origin.

I think it's worth it for the campaign. I thought it was a pretty good game (much better than BFBC 1). Haven't played too much multiplayer though.

Why would you think an EA game would activate on Steam if you didn't buy it there?

Again, EA and Steam :argue: NOT BFFs here.

I'm not sure why people persist in thinking EA games bought outside of Steam will activate there but it will never, ever happen short of one company taking over the other.

EA Games DO NOT activate up on Steam.

Most of the recent EA games, they activate up on Origin.

If you want (full-fledged) Steam on an EA game, you'd have to buy it via Steam...
...As long as it's being sold through Steam, of course.

EDIT:
Most versions of KOA: Reckoning PC do REQUIRE Origin.
Amazon DVG's version requires Origin.
I'd guess the DLC's would be the same way.

Only version of KOA: Reckoning which uses Steam...is the one sold directly through Steam.

Thats what I had assumed but I figured it didnt hurt to ask before spending 10 bucks.
