Red Dead Redemption Game of The Year Edition $39.99

Ps3
Xbox 360

This will include a lot of DLC... yes, I know most of DLC´s are really cheap now. But there´s probably gamers (like me) that prefer the content on disc.

Official R* announcement and ´what´s included?´ here

"In the off-chance that such a gaming feast hasn't sated your appetite, the Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition also includes a brand-new hardcore single-player mode".

Product Features

Platform: PLAYSTATION 3

 • Team up with the Umiz as they use their mighty math powers to drive a bulldozer, navigate a maze, tackle an obstacle course or play the crazy claw game
 • 30 exciting games combine action-adventure play with Pre-K and Kindergarten math curriculum - Identification, Counting, Sorting, Matching, Sequencing. Addition, Subtraction, Division (Equal groups.) Measurement and Comparison. Shapes
 • Kid-tested, parent-approved games designed in collaboration with education experts for maximum learning and repeat play value
 • Game difficulty adjusts automatically, creating a custom learning and play experience for kids

It's a great game, but if you're not interested in the mulitplayer the only DLC you need is Undead Nightmare which goes on sale for $5 almost regularly. Even if you do want to play mulitplayer, the DLC isn't crucial to the experience. Just a heads up for when this comes out and the regular edition is on sale for $10 or $15.

Thanks for the heads up! I rarely ever play multiplayer so I'll just get the original version and download Undead Nightmare.

And me, thats why I bought the Undead Nightmare disc :wall:

...all I know is I'm gonna be super pissed if Hardcore mode and Solomon’s Folly arn't in some way available to previous game edition owners.

NOTE: If this goes ~$15, I may just get it anyways, since having the Undead Nightmare disc doesn't allow you to use DLC in regular single player :bomb:

Getting the regular and undead nightmare is the way to go. The other DLC just isn't compelling like the DLC made for GTAIV. It would have been nice if Rockstar made some sort of additional exclusive content for this release

Trolls, or just people with poor taste in games?

I have the Undead Collection still sealed but not the base game. What am I missing out on if I just pick up the vanilla version opposed to the GOTY?
Trolls, or just people with poor taste in games?
Definitely newbie trolls, escaped from under yon bridge to eat goats and do the devil's work.
Did GTAIV Complete Edition have anything exclusive? My googleing leads me to believe no...
It actually does. The disc release (that had both Lost & The Damned + Ballad of Gay Tony) had a completely new radio channel w/ new tunes, new DJ, etc.

The DLC versions did not include this.

So Stronghold and online Poker/Liar's Dice/Race are not worth it?
So Stronghold and online Poker/Liar's Dice/Race are not worth it?
If you enjoy playing online, these are some of the best modes in my opinion.

I guess my main issue is, is there enough people playing right now for it to be worth it? I generally spent my RDR multiplayer time playing the Co-Op missions but even on those it can be pretty dead. This is on the PS3, trying to decided whether to get Undead Nightmare Standalone or the Undead Nightmare Collection.

Probably gonna pick it up just to have it again. I got 30 bucks for it a while ago, but would love to play again.
newbie troll post ftl
Nope, search me up on Google, type in Blabadon. I'm on GameSpot and have 4,700+ posts there. I genuinely think it's a bad game, I remember being so disappointed playing the game after buying it for $30 on Black Friday.
$50?! I was expecting $30, MAYBE $40. I beat the game when it came out, but I never played the DLC. Maybe I'll pick it up when it is cheap.
It release in Oct. so it'll be $20-$30 w/i 30 days or BF.
Thanks for the heads up, now I'll finally pick up the game once it hits $20 or so.
^^^
Definitely picking this one up...................................when it hits $20.00
^^^

Ive heard great things about this game...but a Western setting is so boring, unappealing to me, and is one of the worst eras I can think of personally playing.

Was never fascinated in the wild west, cowboys, etc.

Personally, I loved the primary game but the online game world was pretty lifeless in free roam.:whistle2:#

To me the WWII era games have been done to death, but up until Gun(and Red Dead Revolver) last gen there hadn't been a decent Western themed game. While I know I will probably receive some major heat for this, I never cared much for the old school Westerns with John Wayne in them, but the modern ones(Tombstone, Quick & The Dead and especially 3:10 to Yuma) got me really hoping someone would make a good game in that era.

Albeit the game is kinda GTA in the Old West pretty much, but just the fact that the open world is seamless and you never see a loading screen while roaming around the wastelands looking for critters to hunt/skin or hideouts to clear to get some points was very impressive.

The game's weather effects are easily some of the best I've seen in ANY game thus far, though the online community is full of trolls/griefers, which is why I'm glad that they added a friendly fire OFF version of Free Roam.

However, unlike the GTA games that Rockstar puts out, you can't set up the level of NPC's you'll see in the online game. So that makes the game world pretty sparsely populated and feeling lifeless.

I felt similarly, but i LOVED this game. Very, very fun.

I would definitely recommend looking into the vanilla version when you can get it for like $10... so if you don't like it, no biggie.

sweet fancy moses! I've been waiting for this GOTY for so very, very long. Now I can finally see what all the fuss is about.

hmm i have the original for PS3, i kept waiting for a GOTY to get it for 360, but ive noticed a disturbing trend:

Most 360 GOTY edtions seem to have all the DLC as a lame code and NOT on a disc as they should be. Does anyone know if this release will be done right and have the DLC on the disk or a 2nd disk? Ala Fallout 3 GOTY? If not i may just pass on it even though ive been wanting to play undead nightmare for a long time. maybe i'll just get undead nightmare for the ps3 when it drops cheap. Regardless, 50 bucks is too high, im sure this will be on sale very quickly. Hopefully there will be some more info on what this hardcore mode is soon

Hmm, it's a good question. I recently purchased both RE5 & GTA IV: Complete Edition for 360. Perhaps it depends on the publisher. Whereas Rockstar simply put the DLC on another disc, Capcom made you download the DLC. I am hoping Rockstar sticks with what they did for GTA IV.

So GTA GOTY for the 360 did have the DLC on a disc? Well thats promising. Its funny you mention RE5, because i was agonizing over what version to get for that. i really wanted the xbox version, but the fact that the DLC was just a queer code made me go for the PS3 version. More Capcom dickery. As a company they've been just screwing up left and right for years. Im with you in hoping rockstar does it right

I'm definitely getting this. The game and all of the DLC ( including Undead Nightmare) is definitely worth 50. One of the few games I might buy on release week, even without a credit.

Yeah, I don't want DLC codes either... I'll wait until it's confirmed to be on disc. That's why I also waited a while to get the Borderlands GOTY... they first released with DLC codes and then moved to discs.

since i only played the undead nightmare i can say that the single player was definitely interesting, the game was fun but the problem was the spawning, the zombies kept spawning even after you've cleared an area so you really have no breathing time in the wild and it kinda ruined the experience since killing zombie didnt have as much weight as it should, i mean why fight them if they are just gonna spawn back in when you turn away the camera, that being said the story mode was a fun ride, but it ultimately depends on what you think a decent single player experience is worth, since the online mode is pretty much just a novelty. You will like the first time you enter the online world but it got old pretty fast, it was at it's finest when you jumped into an online world and everybody was shooting at each other but if you can't find a packed chaotic server then it just seems stale
