F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for a 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot
I purchase a metric crap-ton of stuff from Amazon. I love Amazon. I have only asked CS for assistance in matters where it was clearly appropriate (which has been quite rare) and, in EVERY CASE, they have not only helped me but have gone beyond the call of duty (no pun intended).

As far as I am concerned, Amazon has never taken advantage of me (to the contrary, have always taken care of me) and I see no reason to try to take advantage of Amazon to save a few dollars.

Like the cliche goes, don't crap where you eat.
Totally agree.
Might be the copy I traded in. If it is, it had never been played, just wanted the $38 credit.
Did it have the case and everything?
MGS4 LE console bundle is rare that's why. That and Solid Snake pwns of course.
Pretty sure it was the last of the PS2 backwards compatible machines.

Same here! Installed a 320GB HD on day one. I'm a little worried about it though, as it's been freezing at random points lately.

And MGS4? Still the best PS3 game.

I put a 700 gig hard drive in my MGS bundle ps3. I clocked countless hours many overnight runs for power leveling and downloading. I got scared and sold it for $350 on craigslist last year, got a 320 gig move bundle as a replacement. I miss my old machine but I wouldn't be surprised if it was dead by now.

How did you get $38.00 in credit for the show for Vita?
big ol' lol on that. It's the worst MGS game in the series.
Snake Eater was better than MGS4. The first MGS is still the best in my opinion that is.
Um yes there are...Knights of the Nine had no achievements...
Ah, my bad. Then I played Shivering Isles and not Knights of the Nine.

Lol because Snake eater is my least favorite MSG game. I haven't played 4 yet though, waiting for my ps3 to come from gohastings

I agree that Snake Eater was a better game in the series, but that doesn't take anything away from MGS4.

i enjoyed MGS4. i thought the worst was MGS2.

What makes me really nervous is MGS Rising.

What's the largest hard drive capacity you can put in a ps3? (I have the slim version)

I completely disowned the game until they passed it over to Platinum games. Now it actually has a chance to be unique, rather then a half-bit clone.

Yeah I hear ya. I mean Platinum has made some good titles before. It's just those videos from a MGS fanboy perspective look ... off. :whistle2:#

I had the 80gb Metal Gear Solid Bundle. It just broke about 8 months ago. The system booted up fine, but the blu-ray drive broke. I ended up trading it in to Gamestop with a refurb fee to upgrade to a 320gb Uncharted 3 bundle for about $100.

I still have this box. I don't know if that's worth anything.

I don't want to jinx myself, but mine is running strong too. I am going to retire it soon as I don't want it to start having problems.

as long as its the 2.5 inch SATA you are good. back in the day anything over 1 terabyte was a larger size drive so you have to mod the ps3 for it to physically fit. I am not sure if that is still the case.

so as long as the drive fits in, the ps3 is smart enough to know how much space it has.

Thanks bud! Figured what the hell, $42 for the CE is an excellent price point for me.

Once I'm done I can probably sell the game for $30 and keep the extra stuff while I'm at it.

That LOTR CE was tempting too.. especially since it was $40 not even a month ago. But I think the quiver is just a tad bit too much for me.

Thanks, ive been on the fence all morning watching this. Finally pulled the trigger for 41.99. I hope it comes with unused DLC.....

I couldn't agree more about MGS2 being the worst game in the series.

I was planning on playing all 4, in order, soon, but how bad is the second?

It's not bad at all. It's actually a very good game and worth playing for sure.

2 was actually my favorite, 3 and 4 were really turned into a mainstream thing (please no hipster jokes, it's obvious that 3 and 4 were made to appeal to a broader audience).

They're all fantastic, from a story standpoint I think 2 is the best, however 3 and 4 are undeniably more fun to play.
I was planning on playing all 4, in order, soon, but how bad is the second?
It's my favorite series of all time. Yes, the second IMO is definitely the worst. However, it's just because the other 3 are so good the second pales in comparison. But it's still a good game.

My opinion, overall is 3>=1>4>2

One reason 2 is so controversial is the story is very, very weird compared to MGS1. Towards the end it just gets ridiculous, and Vamp, one of the villains is pretty bizarre, but this is a Japanese series.

The MAIN reason 2 is so controversial is the main character, Raiden. In MGS1 you play as Solid Snake, who fits the typical Rambo/John McClane/John Matrix/Snake Plissken type role that Americans like (myself included) and you really felt like a pretty bad dude. Raiden resembles someone like Edward Cullen or Justin Bieber (okay, maybe a bit dramatic) but the love story is ridiculous, he is whiny, and it's just awkward, especially considering when it came out you play the first hour of the game as a next-gen Snake, and then you're back to Raiden.

It's not a horrible game at all, but to me the other 3 are so much better story-wise, especially 3. The ending of MGS3 is one of the greatest endings to any entertainment medium ever. MGS4 is a little mixed as well but not as much as 2 was. I loved MGS4, loved it. However, prepare to sit through a lot of cutscenes. The ending alone is like 90 min I believe.

Whoa, huge spoiler on number 2. I went into the entire series without knowing anything and had a ball with it. Metal gear series is a great franchise and I definitely recommend it. I'll pitch in and say my favorite in order is 3124. I believe 2 was the most polarizing one for sure.

2 is an unbelievable amount of fun to play. The story is pretty much garbage from the midpoint on, and the dialogue is a JOKE.

MGS3 is everything that's great about the series. Strong characters, unforgettable boss battles, true stealth-based gameplay, and fun like no other.

MGS4 is nothing but fan service all the way through. Groan-worthy fanboy jokes, an even further butchering of whatever was left to kill of the storyline, boring/uninspired boss battles, hour-long cutscenes complete with 20 minute preparation conversations, and mostly run and gun gameplay with the occasional forced stealth segment. The game is worth playing for Act 4 alone, but as a whole, it's just a chore to play (read: watch) all the way through. It does have an online mode unlike any other, but good luck getting more than four people to play with you.

Peace Walker was great. If you have a PS3, get the HD collection.

Well said brother. In the context of a newbie like mr. top hat new to the series, 1 is too dated for me to enjoy although at the time it was a helluva game. So I agree with your ranking scale in the context of a "at the time they were released" view. MGS3 is hands down the best imo. For new players to the series, there are the HD collections that are much improved and a great option for anybody jumping into the series. For stealth action I always preferred MGS over some like Ass Creed's.

I picked up the HD collection, but I have yet to play it. I browsed around the net and most people VERY highly recommended to play MGS1 then 2, 3, 4, PW, in that order. I haven't started the series yet, because I'm a little 'ugh' about playing MGS1 being so dated, but I really want to play them in order if I'll be lost by skipping 1. Would you guys agree with that?

I got the Essential Collection for the PS2 and MGS4 for the PS3. Other than updated visuals, is there anything different?

Well if you're worried about the gameplay, and IF you have a gamecube or Wii you can always get MGS:The Twin Snakes. I don't mind the gameplay of MGS1, it's not bad to me. The story is incredible though, at the time it came out there was nothing like it on consoles. However I haven't played it in probably 7-8 years, so it may be the nostalgia. I do recommend doing 1234 PW in that order, even though MGS3 is a prequel, you'll still get a few things better and it will have more of an impact if you do it after 1 and 2. Also, 3 is SO freaking good that the others won't stack up.

As for whoever asked if the essentials was any different than the HD collections...well, you DO get Peace Walker in HD, and some think that's worth $50 alone. You do get all of the added content from Substance and Subsistence, which I believe may have been in the essentials collection. You also get trophy/achievement support, which I liked seeing as it added that to my favorite series. I have yet to play the HD collections, which I'm shocked by. I was so excited, more so by it than MW3 (and I like CoD, even though no one is supposed to anymore).
