F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for a 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot
2 16 GB vita memory cards starting at $31 and a $45 future solider for the 360 are up would have grabbed a memory card but I dont think I'll be going too digital to need one bigger than my 8 GB

sorry no links
I want to bite, but I think I'll wait until I see one for around $30-35.00. Thanks for posting.
I would not pay more then 140 for a USED VITA now that walmart has them next week for 50 gift card

so buy a wi fi 250 get 50 gift card be like 200 for a new vita when a used one is 170

pass
Thanks slidecage that makes a lot of sense (walmart will charge tax but i get your point)
Yeah, i bought that and cancelled. You sure they won't go lower after e3?
I have a feeling they will. If Sony reveals not a price drop but what would pretty much amount to the same thing (bundle with good amount of memory?) then these will get a bit lower, mabye $20-$25 cheaper.

Are there any U.S. sales numbers going around? Just curious how well it's selling and what the software attach rate is so far.

And a quick question to anyone who has puchased a Vita labeled with "Minor cosmetic imperfection on top or sides of item." What did this usually translate to? Dings, scratches?

I ordered a "like new" vita from AWD with a "minor cosmetic imperfection" on the front. Got it in the mail and it had a huge divot in the screen like it had been stabbed with a knitting needle. Sent it back and bought a brand new one. So, their idea of minor can vary greatly.
PlayStation Vita - WiFi

PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Bundle ($194.99 [Good])

Thanks, I bought one of the wiki ones, couldn't resist and hopefully the thing comes in great shape :)

Must resist and wait until e3
Well...Sony's press conference is on Monday (6/4) evening, I think, so you could always cancel if there turns out to be a Vita bundle or price drop announcement.

Then again, who knows if Amazon will get it in stock before 6/9, in which case you might be screwed? :???:
Same. Even if there isn't a price drop, I would expect some great bundles announced at least.
At this point, I'm not expecting great bundles, but with it less than a week away, I'd feel pretty stupid if I bought now, and they did either price drop or do some sort of bundle. Best case they give a bundle with a 4GB, or maybe, big maybe an 8GB. Would need to buy a 32GB anyways since small sizes won't do me much good. Either way, $250/$300 bundle > $250/$300 standalone.

I'm quite happy I got a like new vita a few days ago worst thing happens it drops to 200 for wifi (not expecting it) return and get a new one for 13~

I've got a vita bundle I'd like to try and sell. I have a FEB minus little deviants. I've got MK, Lumines, UMvC3 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma plus. I know we have the trading board, but with all the talk about Vitas and everyone trying to buy one I figured I'd throw it out there.

Not sure why is it that resale value for video games are utter shit. I mean, how low are you suppose to go? I think 20%-30% under MSRP is fair, but some people(Like us? ) want you to go down to 50%+. WORK WITH ME PEOPLE.

Geez, you're probably better off just trading everything in if it's that bad.

Well I went against all good sense and ordered a Vita for $162. If it's in bad shape I'll send it back. I just can't resist portable Metal Gear and Jet Set Radio! Now I need to find a cheap 32GB card, which really pains me because I just bought a MicroSD 32 GB for $20. I hate proprietary cards, really I do. I wouldn't mind spending $100 for 64GB.

Curious: any sense in buying something like Star Wars The Old Republic from AWD?

The description, even though it's cut/paste for every listing, seems to kind of contradict itself: "Fully playable game is included; downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase."

The contradiction being that in order to be playable, it requires online play and thus an activation code (being an MMO).

Should I take my chances and hope its just a box-damage item, or will the likely hood be that people traded these in & used the activation keys?

I decided to risk it on a time card for SWTOR and the card hadn't been scratched off

these vitas are ultra tempting, especially after i got a new job, but i'm still holding out for a price drop + bundle with better game and accessories.

ha same here bro, but im all bout that ps3. Can't wait for monday to find out if the prices go down. Does AWD usually act slow when price drops are announced?
I decided to risk it on a time card for SWTOR and the card hadn't been scratched off
After a bit of searching I actually found that Amazon doesn't even offer a TIV for SWTOR, so I think it'll turn out well buying from AWD.

Awesome to hear a time-card was unused, how much did you get it for?
I missed the ME3 for $30 new. What's it been getting down too on AWD?
Was $23 a few days ago

I can't wait to get one of these Vitas.
Been unemployed since the beginning of the year but if I get this job I am trying for right now, whoo-boy! I'll definitely be able to afford one of these, along with every game I want for it (any fighting game, Rayman, and Jet Set Radio HD).
And since I will be working up in the middle of nowhere in the arctic circle near the North Pole, I'll have plenty of time to play it.

Just gotta hold out hope I get this. Then I'll be able to go back to buying anything I want without thinking twice. I'll be making bank.

Well it's not a whole lot of money. 65K/yr. But it would all be tax-free, accommodations and food are taken care of, and there is nothing to spend money on there because the closest civilized piece of land is an Inuit village hours many hours away.
Certainly a step up from what I was making in the military and a million times better than the pittance the state is paying for unemployment.
Does Amazon deliver to the arctic circle?

Also, I need to get that kind of job.
Probably not, but they will deliver to my wife who can turn around and drop it in the mail. And then after a couple weeks, I should get it.
They might be able to send it to me though. My address will be a military APO and I don't know what their policies on overseas bases is.

Where do I sign up? That's serious bank.

Do you have extensive tactical radio and SATCOM experience, a Secret clearance, and possibly an A+ cert? If so, there are two more positions.

Edit: I'm not trying to brag or anything, because I haven't sealed the deal yet. But those of you who are unemployed or have been without a job in the past couple years should know how exciting it is to have someone get serious about hiring you for a good job.
I miss being able to buy stuff so bad. I can't wait to add up how much I spent on Amazon at the end of the year. Last year their calculator showed me spending thousands. This year, the most I have spent is on a couple packages of diapers. I've missed so many good Warehouse Deals. They go in cycles and by the time I get a job, the prices will be back to being ludicrous for everything.

65k year is great..I have a 4 year degree and make 30k. It's laid back, I play on reddit a lot at work but still. Thrn again where I live the average household income is 21k, so..you know. Living here is super cheap.

I have a BS in marketing and a MBA. The most I have made is $50K/year salary.

Wow what an odd job. Certainly not one I'd like, but props to you for finding one. Being employed is better than not being employed, right?

I make about 60k a year, but fully taxed. But then again, I travel every week for work, so we all have to make sacrifices right? Thank god I travel to decent locations rather than middle of Alaska. :)

If you have an MBA, you most certainly could have made more. I know, I do a lot of our MBA hiring. The real issue is how well you did in B-School, as well as the 'touchy feely' stuff like who you know, how personable you are, your social skills, etc

Amazon will deliver to APO addresses, but the USPS stopped shipping products with lithium batteries overseas on May 16th, so Amazon stopped shipping those items. I don't know if every package is inspected before its delivered to APO addresses, but I would not take a chance of having your wife send a Vita to you. The ban is supposed to be lifted in Jan 2013.

I haven't had a 'real job' since 2005, so that is part of it. ;) I was never good at networking and I have been told I have an intense personality by former girlfriends. I also am a honest person, so I don't do too well at office politics.

Oh. Yeah. That would do it. :)

I play the game. *shrug* I'm ok with it. I know who to suck, when, and for how long till I move onto the next. It's one of the reasons I'm so 'out' at work. The 'gay card' is now extremely beneficial in big Fortune 500's. A way to differentiate yourself, if you will. Plus I get the benefit of being who I am at work.

Girls all love the well dressed, fun gay boy. And who loves women? Straight men. I'm able to effectively make almost every person from new to old (though this effect starts to taper off the older the other person gets) want to be around me. So yeah, I can do office politics.

Greenland actually. 700 miles above the arctic circle and 900 from the north pole. 3 months straight of night and 4 months of constant sunlight. It can hit -40 degrees in their winter.

I'm being considered for 2 remote jobs, one there and one at Diego Garcia. A lot more people would be hoping for Diego Garcia, the atoll in the middle of the Indian Ocean. It's 11 square miles, would be tax free, and has 2000-3000 people there, rather than a couple hundred at Thule in Greenland.

I hate the heat though and love the cold. And I think that 3 months of darkness and glaciers and -40 is just such a unique experience that it is making me want to go there for a year. Come back having saved a ton, payed off all my debt, and able to put a nice down payment on a G37. Or since they have a great internal hiring process, maybe get picked up for a contracting job on Okinawa on the base there.

Good to know, thanks. Maybe I will be able to order one through the AAFES facility there. Or have someone there order me one. I imagine the military is able to get lithium stuff shipped. I know I have shipped enough li-ion PRC-117 and PSC-5 batteries in my day.

And on-topic: Damn I wish I could buy that copy of Witcher 2! Hope someone snatches it up. In addition to bills this month, I have a 3-year-old's birthday to budget for and 2 different Iron Maiden concerts to get tickets to. And unemployment and my wife's paycheck don't equal too much. My VA disability claim won't be taken care of for many more months either.

Has Dragon's Dogma been on AWD a lot since launch? I've got a buddy who has a minor interest in buying it and if I can pressure him into getting it, he'll play it for all of an hour and then I can swoop in with the borrow, lol.
