F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for a 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Welll... You really should... trade in the game even, the extras for like $10 in some cases, are totally worth it. The dubstep gun is fun as heck XD, DUBSTEP LASER POINTER GUN!
If I had a little more credit I probably would but that would be everything I have on hand until tomorrow.

Seriously didn't you just move $850 into amz a few days ago? Although in this case I would say this is a good investment for the time being. $37.80 TIV for GCU members, and that leaves the extras at $12 or so. You get a statue, a button, and the dubstep gun, and they actually are pretty good as far as CE extras go.

I still don't really want the extras though, it's more just the price that's extremely tempting.

Yeah XD was in the exact situation, I was like, WHY DID I BUY THIS, when I ordered my acceptable dinger. At this price it will sell to someone else with little to no impulse control.

Which I'm trying not to be me! These good times are clearly going to come to a very abrupt end sooner than later so I would rather be smart with my money than spend $10 on plastic junk I don't have anywhere to store or display.

The changes seem to come and go but I know what you're talking about. Product pages on occasion are also showing an updated layout.
Yeah I just noticed that when you check out from items in your cart, as opposed to the page it brings you to saying how you added an item to a cart, it is different. Also it seems to automatically select "this order contains gifts" when I would check out with a few items... Which is annoying.

I've seen the whole "different layout" thing happen on Amazon numerous times. I know what's going on too. I interviewed a for a company that does this exact kind of analysis.

Basically what you're seeing is a promotional marketing campaign. Amazon or any other website would run these against a group of customers and see what the retention rate, click-through, etc... is for that specific layout. They store a lot of metrics about these things.

It's harmless and not tracking you personally. Just... ignore it pretty much. Maybe if one campaign is super successful they'll migrate over to it in a couple of months or something.

Yeah but it's so not connected to anything that you're doing that the data they must be getting has to be incredibly scatter shot.

I came in here to post about SRIV, but I see it's already been mentioned.  I caved and bought a GotG edition for PS3, hopefully it's dinged up just enough that someone didn't want to pay $130 for it, but is otherwise fine :D

If she has never played guitar before, I don't know that i would recommend it. It's pretty difficult for an absolute beginner since you can't really watch your hands as you play to know where they are. I'm a beginner who has taken some lessons and I only feel comfortable playing 2 songs since they only use the first few frets. If she's more experienced go for it. The two songs I can play are pretty fun once you get the hang of it. Lol

Yeah, I guess I'll stay away then....I still have Taiko Drum Master for the PS2 if she wants to learn an instrument... :)

Thanks for the advice.

I had nearly a completely different experience. I played guitar for a few years in high school and bought the game years later to get back into playing. I almost felt like I was at a disadvantage with my prior knowledge. The game adapts to your level of expertise while you play and I felt like it thought I was much better than I was. Within one song, the game evolved from a very beginner level to a level that was far beyond my skill set.

Plus, it took a while to try to adapt to their teaching system since I learned a different way years before. If someone starts to learn by playing this game, the game's teaching system would be the only one they know and they would be trained from the start to play in the style that Rocksmith teaches. My brother, who never really played before, actually is somewhat decent after I let him borrow my game and guitar for a couple of months. He can play a few different song (simpler songs, all powerchords and whatnot) now without a hiccup.

Great, now I just jumped back on the fence. THANKS. :)

Seriously though, thanks for your input.

I'm kind of new to the AWD thread, and I was wondering what, in general, a video game in good condition entails. Does this mean I'll get the CIB with some package damage, just the game, the game in box without the manual, or the game/box/manual but no Club Nintendo codes? Or is it just a crapshoot and I'll find out when the package is on my doorstep?

Well the acceptable vita I ordered for $118.78 came in.
The vita was in great condition. However, it came repackaged and missed everything else (power cables / adapter, etc). Contacted Amazon CS to see if they can help me with the missing accessories since I need the cable to charge it and they gave me $70.20 in refund . Very generous of them. Hence, the vita alone cost me $48.58 minus the accessories. Amazon, you are the best.

Why do I keep wanting this, despite the horrid reviews I keep seeing? GET IT AWAY FROM MEEEEEEE
kind of like watching a train wreck in progress -- cant.... stop.... watching.

Wasn't expecting that at all since I only needed enough to buy the cable and power adapter. Already had a 32gb memory card that I bought for my previous vita that I was replacing this one with so that just blew my mind when they gave me what they gave me.

coopscohen, thanks for posting the deal. :)

You're my hero. It's too late for me, but going forward, AWD is getting my business for most things video game related. I feel foolish for paying what I did for my vita a year ago. Glad to hear you had a good experience with amazon CS.

Wow. They only are authorized to partially refund 15%. Going more than 50% means someone's getting fired.
