F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

tomb raider will def be ported on pc. pc games are dirt cheap now a days with steam.
If only PC gaming was comfortable =| . I have like 400+ games on steam and the reason I refuse to play them is because I don't want to sit down on my damn desk all day. I rather lay down on my couch all day <3 . I gotta find a way to move my tower to my living room so I can just play my PC games like that, even if it means losing some frames cuz of the TV.

On the bright side you can do your work and play in the same area if you're like me.

alot pc gamers, also try to get the latest graphics card. alot of times it costs too much tho, upwards of $159.99. since i am only willing to paid $200 for a console. so at that price range , and i am not willing to paid / sink that much cost into gaming pc.

"Upwards of $159.99"

Yeah, that's not a positive for those of us that are easily distracted.
OK that's true.

Sure, a $159.99 video card might run better than a console with the right hardware in it...but if you're a PC gamer, you want to spend at least $250+ (Just spent $300 on a GTX 770) just so you can rub it in console gamers' faces that you have 60fps and can play games with a keyboard and mouse. True story.

Don't you want to be around your family during your non-working hours?
Hmmmm.....

Oh, the benefits of multiple monitors.
That. Bwahahahaaaaaah...

what is so funny? graphics card are not cheap if you try to get the latest one as soon as it is release. i mean if you wait 6 month- 1 year to pick it up at discount. then it will be cheap.
He's laughing becuase of the price you listed lol.

My most recent GPU costed me $540 -.-

Also you can play most PC games with a xbox controller or ds4

780 Classified, actually I bought it like 5 months ago.
Good choice. Had nothing but trouble with AMD drivers since 2011. Sure the AMD cards have more raw power, but by the time I see benefits from that great 384-bit bus and extra RAM down the road I'll be ready to buy another video card a few years from now anyway. Having said that, my old 6950 can still run almost every console game and still looks good doing it.

$159.99 is just made up amount i found when looking up graphics card price, i am not a pc gamer, so i wouldn't know what the actual amount would be. you point just proof my point. pc gaming is actually not as cheap as people think. the overall cost going into get the latest graphics card, and building a pc is till much more than just buying a $200 console in my case. that i would not have to constantly update it, even if their pc games are cheap.

True,

But a decent computer that can run games better than this gen consoles can be built for 500-800$ and then the games are almost always cheaper than console games.

The only people that spend over 1k on a computer, love PC gaming; ie Myself :D

(sorry for the offtopic banter; back to the non existent deals)

I also have more than 1 monitor. ;D

People like myself that spend assloads on PC's do it because they love it. I also dont have to upgrade my PC for a long time either, seeing as how the last time I upgraded was about 6 years ago.

Do I regret getting my 780 Classy GPU? I didnt when I first got it since I played alot of games that I could play on Ultra...but lately I have been playing MMO's which dont need super GPU power, except for FFXIV.

answer me this , every year, when the lastest graphics card comes out, you will be most like updating/upgrading. but with a console that i pay $200. i would never had to buy new parts to upgrade it ever again, until the next gen console arrives. when you can build me a gaming pc that is equivalent to a ps4/xbox one for $ 200. i will consider it. that is the price i am willing to pay for a new console.

Well you will be waiting a looooong time for consoles to drop to $200.

I also stated that I upgrade my PC about every 4-6 years. My PC is also used about 10 hours a day, so I feel like spending as much as I did is worth it.

i have all the time in the world. it takes me atleast a week to finish one game on average( not including those long jrpgs). i have around 45 games right now, plus a few more preordered. so 2016 is probably the earliest i will be thinking about getting a ps4 or xbox one.

exaggerating right, this man is a true CAG jk but yeah they are pricey
Lol, yeah don't see many video card topics here on CAG now do we?

Considering what the hardware can do, it actually is worth the $500-700. Now the question is simply are you willing to pay for it?

For me, I'd get one if I had 4 monitors for multi-monitor gaming...but I don't.

The only people that spend over 1k on a computer, love PC gaming; ie Myself :D
Spent about $2500 into mine...spread across four years though. My family members get my old parts, lol.

So basically, you only want to pay a certain amount of money to buy a device to play games. Totally cool with that.

Well you will be waiting a looooong time for consoles to drop to $200.

I also stated that I upgrade my PC about every 4-6 years. My PC is also used about 10 hours a day, so I feel like spending as much as I did is worth it.

BACK TO THE DEALS
It will be a while before they hit $200 but this generation MS and Sony built machines that lend themselves to more aggressive price drops, IMHO. Far more than the previous gen anyway.

They also built machines that they're currently selling for a profit (and succeeding at doing so!), so I highly doubt they'll be willing to give that up any time soon

It is truly amazing that my MGS4 PS3 isn't splattered on the pavement right now.  The tape on the top and bottom was split at least 80% of the length of the box and detached from the sides.

And they brought Tearaway to PS4. That was fucking cruel of Sony lol.

I *love* Tearaway. My only complaint was I was done with the game in 3 sittings, played a few hours each day.
Well they need the game to sell more than two copies.

Unlike how Square wants the next Tomb Raider to only sell two copies.

target is running their sale this week, buy any game $39.99+ and a $1 preorder card and it'll take $15 off.  its YMMV on whether you can get it to work with a pricematch to amazon/walmart/bestbuy, but even without that you can probably beat some of these AWD "deals" on new games - BD @ 39.99 - $15 = $25, Last of Us PS4 for $49.99 - 15 = $35, etc.  If you can get a successful PM it can drop even more.  can read more in the stickied sunday video games thread, people have been posting good deals they have made like the lego games for $15 or Madden 25 for $5-15.

all reports seem to indicate the next 3d tomb raider will be xbox one exclusive for 2015 (holiday season) and come out cross platform in 2016

So only the impatient ones will actually want an XBone for Rise of Tomb Raider...unless it's got exclusive DLC or bonus footage of Camilla Luddington?

Agreed on all of it.

Shoot, you can't reliably get the 360 Slim for $200 new right now, and it's several years old.

I replaced my CPU and motherboard in the winter, when Micros Center was giving a bundle deal. I got the board and processor for $280, then sold my old computer to my cousin for $250, making it about a $30 upgrade (already had 2 video cards, cases, RAM sets, and PSUs, so he just had to get a HDD, and I got Windows free through school).

I just kinda had to throw my two cents in because of the hilarity that is a new GPU for $160. I think my dad's 290Xs (which he got in the winter as well) still siting the $500 range. $160's entry-level.

Yep, gotta love Dreamspark!

But yeah, it takes more money for a PC...but it's worth it if that's what you want.

True, but if MS continues to fall behind they will do something. When one drops the other will likely be close behind. I'm sure it will be some time before they drop significantly, but the fact that they built machines that are capable of more aggressive price drops is a good thing for us cheap ass gamers :)

Yea I'm debating on trying to get target to PM Wolfenstein and then do the preorder thing. $27 would be great

For the past 4 years, I've been able to get a 360 for 100 (either through GC deals or straight up 100) either on BF or a few months before (years ago, 360 jasper walmart 200-100 GC) and resold.

This assumes you actually buy the pre-order...right? The real cost is what you actually spend...the game you buy and the game you're going to pay for when the game comes out. I would divide the total cost of the games by two and you get the actual cost of the game. Example:

Pre-Order Super Smash Bros. 3DS is 39.99. Say I wanted TLOU Remastered for PS4 $49.99. So the subtraction give you 39.99 + 34.99 = 74.98. Divide that by 2 and you get: 37.49 a game. Just a thought.

Naw the pre order card is only $1 and it doesnt reserve a game in your name or anything

So 39.99-15 = 24.99 * tax (.0825) = 27.XX

:)

yeah the $1 preorder cards are in theory supposed to let Target know how many copies people will want for their inventory management systems, and if you actually bring it with you when you buy the game its good for a $5 gift certificate (and some of them have preorder bonus codes on them you can trade around).

the PMing is getting harder and harder, while the register is letting anything through many cashiers will not scan the $1 cards if you PM, or ask their manager who will shoot you down.  But some cashiers just don't care and will happily do it, so its ymmv.  If you don't bother with the whole PM thing you can still get good deals, like TLOU PS4 remastered for $36+tax or most AAA $40 3DS/vita games for $25.xx.  Not quite as good as the b1g1f Best Buy deal a few weeks ago but probably won't see that again.
