F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

TRU was my first choice. Walmart I heard is like the worst place to work on earth and Bestbuy require so much customer interaction. I really don't want to explain the difference between a Wii and Wii U all day or why the Xbox one is the latest console and not the Xbox 360. Anyone former employee of any of this retailer please give me some insight.
I've been to the Walmart downtown and it's draining the life from the employees. People steal there all the time, people pee all over the restroom floor, people move products all over the place, and some even ask employees to fetch something for them and they'll yell at the employees for having bad attitudes.

Best Buy trains its employees to deny a lot of stuff. If you like to ignore people and to tell them to buzz off, then it's the place for you.

Basically, Toys R Us is a place where people won't hassle you over price matching much and most people will just buy at sale price and leave the store happy.

How often is it good to check? I am looking for a One and if I can nab one for around $300 Kinectless I will bite. Want to know how often they update and how frequent I should check without wasting my time, lol.
I'm on the site daily so it's pretty much hit and miss. Usually when a price like that pops up, it's gone within hours.

I would suggest Cowboom as $320-$325 with shipping included is the lowest price you can find one consistently.

I would also suggest Best Buy over Wal-Mart/ToysRUs.

I don't expect many people to be shopping at TRU, it's always empty when I visited plus I would like actual work and Wal-Mart just seems like hell with how big the store is lol.

Can't comment on TRU or Walmart, but I worked at BestBuy for two years, selling TVs. It's a fairly decent job with good discounts (cost + 10%) but the managers can be dicks. They basically demand that you meet certain goals. Like I had to have 8% of my revenue in protection plans and 3% in services. Just don't take a promotion to full time or supervisor unless you plan on being there a while. I was a full timer and was expected to also act as supervisor in my department.

Explains why they have more "managers" than regular employees.

working at TRU is great as birth control. I worked there when I was 18 and it took my wife years to convince me that kids aren't all how most of them are at that store.

Correct. When I started back in 2012, it was a great place to work. 2013 was awesome. But right around the beginning of the holidays in 2013, it went to shit. And there are rumors of the employee discount changing(I'm not there anymore). The best part of working at BB, though, are the employee accommodations. You can get speakers, audio/video receivers, remote start systems and all kinds of other stuff for ridiculously cheap. So moral of the story: work there for six months, get cool shit, and quit.

This. People forget that it's uncontrolled kids and pissed off parents that are the majority of the customers at TRU.

Pick Your top two and ask each why you should work there over the other place.
I know it's just hourly but honestly both places should take the question seriously. Weigh their responses with the feedback in this thread. Neither is a long term career plan.

And then just remember that it's all lies unless you drink the Koolaid and they'll probably be letting you go in four months anyway. So don't stress over it and let them destroy your soul and buy everything you can with your discount.

I got a job offer from Walmart, Bestbuy and ToysRus... which one should I accept? The rate and hours is pretty much the same across. It's a bit off topic but this thread is kinda like an off topic thread anyway.
I worked at both BestBuy and Walmart, I hated BestBuy but Walmart was super chill for me as I work in the back and you don't really have to explain much because no one really asks questions there regarding the product even when I was out on the floor, so I barely did anything. Whereas working in sales at BestBuy they require you to make numbers and do a bunch of knowledge crap and the morning meetings during Saturdays/Sundays when you want to do stuff and all the managers I had were dicks. Plus I can't comment on ToysRUs since I've never worked there. Though I did work at Walmart in the South and BestBuy in the North, so take that with a grain of salt.

Morning meetings don't happen anymore. They didn't like paying all employees to come in so they started making people watch a video when there weren't any customers. Course there's still a preopening 5 minute meeting where they tell goals for the day, but that's it.

best thing to do is buy at release at best buy, $48 with GCU for any $60 game.  beat it quickly and then trade it into BB or GS for usually $40.  With movers coupon and reward zone the cost drops to actually $30-35 (many games come with $10 preorder RZ) so you end up building credit slowly  just buying, playing and trading new games.

The thing is not to start building up a backlog though, the games definitely depreciate super fast and go from $40-45 trades to $30 and then $20 real fast.  There are tons of sales though, infamous SS was recently $40 and part of a bundle deal where buying 2 $20-40 games reduced the price a further $30.  I recently played through Metal Gears Ground Zero, TLOU, Need for Speed, Killzone, and Wolfenstein and all netted me $5-10 above what I paid after trading in.  Working on Watch Dogs now until Destiny, then off to the trade it goes.  Unless I am 100% sure I am going to play I don't bother buying any console game, thats what my steam library and bundles are for.

Of course GCu costs $120 right now ($60 on sale but hasn't been on sale in 2 months now) so thats a problem if you don't have it.

Damn, that game sure dropped fast! I'm kinda getting the feeling that I might as well not even buy PS4 games up front any more. Seems like they all drop within a couple months. I didn't really think it'd be a thing with this gen, but it sure is.
I think you mean all games. Even Nintendo stuff had been having early and frequent sales this last year. This gen even started off with sales on the PS4 launch titles before the system was released!

This seems along the same line as wanting it leaked.
Not exactly, if the pictures are just for your own admiration. Anyway, I just Googled her because I have no idea who she is and yeah, she has a pretty nice body. Looks like she played Mystique in... some X-Men movie. She doesn't look like the one in 3. Maybe Days of Future Past.

And the Hunger Games, American Hustle. She is actually quite good. And hot.

Well than it's the former if you don't think it's going to and have it in the cloud.

Really though if they took those pictures they deserved to get hacked, trusting technology like that. Likewise everyone that trusted PSN deserved to get hacked. As did anyone who used a credit card at Target. And I'm sure none of you use online banking, otherwise you are just asking to have your money leaked.

Definitely. I don't even use computers. I would deserve to get hacked.

I like Giada as much as the next guy, but I like Jennifer Lawrence much more (blasphemy here I know). It seems like there are more pics of her leaking as we speak. New ones are being shown right now on 4chan and reddit. I never used either of those sites until today.

I'm with you on JLaw. Don't know why they're posting more. Not like the other dozen pics fail to sum it up. She's gorgeous btw.

My money is all buried in the woods behind my house. They haven't hacked the trees yet.

So the 360 slim s that I got from AWD has disk can't read error on all disks that I try... What are my options on this? I got a really good deal on it so I don't really just want to return it... Can I register it with Microsoft and see if they will repair or is that not going to happen with a "used" purchase...

Tell Amazon customer service the one you got doesn't work correctly. They may send a replacement free of charge.

Didn't think of the most obvious solution, I've been working too much lately, thanks for jump starting my brain. :)

EDIT: tried to contact them and the only option was to issue a refund for the return. Which isn't worth it. So I guess I'll just try to get it repaired through Microsoft some how, possibly at my own expense?
