F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization. About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Fedex was supposed to deliver 3 packages to me on Saturday, I only received 2, contacted fedex support they talkde to the driver and he said he dropped all 3 of them off at my door. So I guess im supposed to expect someone would steal 1 package from my door but leave the other 2 because why not.

I hope those 2 copies of destiny someone somewhere has are being enjoyed...

So my LN factory sealed PS2 came. They have a... different definition of factory sealed. Although the console and accessories don't seem to ever be removed from their wrapping, everything was shipped loose outside of the original box. And when I say loose, I mean it. Everything was just tossed in a shipping box wirh some brown paper.

Still, it seems to be technically new, and also came with the sealed instructions. I can post pics later tonight if anyone wants to see.

I would complain. See if you can get a partial refund.

'factory sealed' on AWD typically just means they've repackaged it in the warehouse

Please do post the pics, and yeah I honestly do think you can demand a little bit of money back. Of course if it doesn't work you can easily demand all of it back.

Well no deals so far. I'm headed out to eat some Mexican food for a few hours. Let's hope you get good stuff while I'm away, lol.
Complete opposite for me.

UPS is great, FedEx doesn't deliver until late afternoon....if they even deliver.

Half the time they send it to the wrong address
Haha opposite for me. FedEX norm comes around noon here but UPS has delivered packages to my house as late as 10pm.

Either way I don't mind as long as it arrives in tact and on the day it says

Boom! I am so right. I give myself 50 picarats. And on that note...some deals of pure pain:

DC Skies of Arcadia $71.08 (G)

:3ds: Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance CE $89.94 3DS (G)

:ps2: Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 $106.01 (G) Whaaaaat?
lol I still have a sealed copy of the Kingdom Hearts 3DS CE, never got around to opening it or playing it after I bought it at launch. Debating selling it now, I didn't know it was worth beaucoup bucks.

Also snagged some stuff yesterday,

Infamous Collection LN for $13, hopping the festival of blood code isn't used, the description was pretty bare.

Valkyria Chronicles for $9.40 LN

Metal Gear Solid Rising PS3 $5.40 LN

and one of those Good Halo 3 Limited Editions for under $5.

Honestly don't know why I bought this stuff because chances are, if I'm lucky, the only one I'll ever play is metal gear. Oh well. Stopped calling it a backlog a while ago and started calling it a collection, makes me feel better about myself.

So, here's a pic of my LN "factory sealed" PS2:

If you guys think it's worth complaining, how do I go about doing so? How much should I ask to be credited?

Asking for credit over miniscule things isn't the smartest move.

When something you order actually does come up missing or in awful condition you're gonna be in a position where it looks like you're taking advantage of their willingness too credit mistakes.

IDK how much you paid for the console, but I wouldn't take something being written down on my account for $20

if you actually give them a specific amount that you want credited you will more then likely get flagged on your account

it's packaged poorly, but unless something is broke save your complaint for something you really need fixed.

using AWDs lingo they sent you exactly what was described in the listing.

Actually, no. The listing for it said:

Condition: Used - Like New
Downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase. Factory Sealed.
It's not like I got it for a steal - $87 would have been a good price for a nick and dent still in the box, not for something stripped from its box and shipped with questionable packaging.

I'll probably send it back for a full refund. Not worth the risk down the road.

$87?!?! Why did you spend so much on a PS2?

I'd definitely send it back if it's anything less than pristine with all original stuff, for that price. I could go get a $30-60 PS2 from Craigslist in working condition and not have to wait for shipping, with equally amazing packaging. That's some crap there.

Got my last of us PS3 console today. Mine was also the one wih batman origins and the last of us. Trading it back in for $194. Hopefully ashley #2 doesn't get her paws on it

off topic but need some opinion here im thinking of canceling my SSB Controller Bundle is there even any real exclusiveness to that bundle? i got thinking this morning that everything in that bundle is able to be bought seperate and i already have 3 wavebirds and 4 other GC controllers as well as 3 pro controllers for the wii u. I think i pre-ordered it cause i thought the SSB designed controller would be exclusive to the bundle but even that is sold seperate only thing exclusive is the box which is just a box. So im thinking, im better off getting the game at a sale price later and just months down the road getting the adaptor if i decide to later
I'm going to get the bundle but only because I collect and because with GCU I'll end up getting it under MSRP. Since it's the closest thing to a Collectors Edition and because the bundle will likely be limited to some extent I want to make sure I have it. I don't want to try chasing down the box in a few years, but for 99% of people that's not a concern. I can definitely see why people would reconsider and unless you are buying it to keep in a collection there are most likely cheaper options.

It might be tough to get 194 no matter who grades it since the boxes are different. I'd make sure to choose the return option, it would suck to get it knocked down to acceptable

That actually looks to be factory sealed, except it's missing the outer big blue box.
I think those boxes were blue....you're think I would remember after buy 3 or 4 of them.

True. Maybe I should leave the Amazon sticker that says like new on it? Not really. Not trying to get banned

I'd definitely send it back if it's anything less than pristine with all original stuff, for that price. I could go get a $30-60 PS2 from Craigslist in working condition and not have to wait for shipping, with equally amazing packaging. That's some crap there.
Yeah, lol, well my PS2 library is worth the investment. New PS2s are going for around $130 right now, so I wanted a backup. Saving $50 for a damaged box would have been worth it. But not worth the chance the way the parts were shipped. And with the condition of some of these consoles on Craigslist (or Gamestop or Ebay), if there was a Child and Family Services department for video games the previous owners would have surely been paid a visit by them... Paying a premium for a new (or like new) console is important to me. Or an original owner who took care of their things. That's a rarity I've seen.

That actually looks to be factory sealed, except it's missing the outer big blue box.
I think those boxes were blue....you're think I would remember after buy 3 or 4 of them.
Yeah, the problem is, there's no way of knowing what kind of damage it would have taken being shipped without padding like that, or how many round trips it's taken already.

If they would have just taken the contents out of the damaged box and sent that to me with some kind of secured packaging, I might have reconsidered. Or hell, just send me the damaged box. I'm not going to display it or anything.

Anyway, got a return label. Back on the hunt.
