F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

$280 is the cheapest these PS4s go? Because I'm debating on whether to buy a 2nd PS4
Right now they are (excluding $262.50 for acceptable one). They were cheaper a week and a half ago so if you are in no rush, I would suggest waiting it out but that wait could be weeks or even months. No telling when exactly they will drop again with the exception of them just dropping in price out of nowhere.

Bestbuy seems to do the same pattern of nintendo sales each year. Usually the buy 1 get x off before christmas once or twice, then a lack of any sale for a few months before the next good first party deals. Hoping that next sale comes along any week now. The problem is they have been getting more restrictive on which titles apply, and it would be great to be able to mix and match among the $40 3ds and wii u games.

But Captain Toad isn't even a year old yet. I think it's safe from going OOP for at least a year, especially since they aren't really releasing anything big to take over its limited shelf space yet.
It's not a year old but neither was Wii Sports Club or Game and Wario when they went OOP. Just saying don't think Nintendo will reprint titles just because they are only a few months old. I doubt retailers are rushing to restock Toad.

I do think Toad is safer than Wii Sports Club and Game & Wario since it sold better, but don't take anything Nintendo for granted ;)

True... EXCEPT the upcoming Toad Amiibo is supposed to unlock new content in the game, which will need a 1.1 patch to work. They'll probably have another commercial push behind Cap'n Toad before it goes OOP. heck, in Japan they're releasing a Caption Toad / Toad Amiibo bundle. Wish we were getting that here.

Thanks got it. I've never played the halo games, so I wanted to try them out. Was that a good price?

Also, all this talk of Captain Toad has piqued my interest. I can get it for $31 after GCU at Best Buy. Should I get it now or wait? It'll go into the backlog.

Regarding Halo: MCC, I would say that was a great price, especially for a like new copy. The multiplayer is definitely still broken, but I've played the campaigns without an issue at all. Others are getting incredibly upset about all this, but I'm willing to realize that the people at 343 Industries are human too. No sense crying over #FirstWorldProblems

Regarding Captain Toad, you should definitely plan on getting it at some point. $31 is a great price for it, but considering it will go in your backlog, you just have to decide whether you want to take a risk on it being in short supply by the time you're ready to play it. My advice: If money isn't a problem, go ahead and pounce on it. Nintendo games hold their value, so $31 is probably the best price you'll get on it for the next few years.

Thanks! I'll keep my halo and wait a few days for toad. My mm le games got cancelled from best buy, so I'm hoping best buy will throw in some certs to make up for it.

Do you guys use goo gone for removing stickers?
I use baby oil, you just rip as much of the sticker off as possible then use a little baby oil on a cloth or papertowel and the residue and remainder come right off, then be sure to clean the oil off with some water.

My mom actually taught me this one a while back.

I use goo gone a LOT since I thrift shop all the time.

One day I'll try using paint thinner just for giggles...and suffocation. I'm so cruel to myself.

What's the deal with this VG Earthbound listing?  Given the disclaimer, it sounds like it doesn't come with anything but the cart, and maybe one of those cart cases.

$269.69 Eligible for free shipping with Amazon Prime.

Used - Very Good

Downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase. Item may come repackaged. Item not in the original case. Missing shrink-wrap, activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Item is missing insert. Item is missing cover art. Item is missing boxed set case.

Sounds like I need to get some goo gone then. It was actually on a laptop I ordered that had a couple stickers on the bottom of it. I didn't know what the safest thing to use on aluminum would be

I used to use Goo Gone, but I don't care for that greasy feel after the sticker is gone. Like trading for one problem for another.

I use a piece of tape and just repeatedly press it to the sticky residue until it's all gone. It removes it without any marks, greasy feel, or orange smell left behind -- as if the sticker was never there.

I've recently taken to using a Magic Eraser for rubbing off the stickiness and the residue. No smell, no greasiness, and no marks. Did have one problematic sticker that ended up shredding my eraser in the process, but that was a one-time thing.

Yeah, I was ok with the cancellation. It was the cancellation due to lack of availability and then right after putting it back up at a higher price. Emailed CS basically asking what that was about and they said that shouldn't have happened and just gave me a new one at the old price

Humans that sold you a broken piece of shit for $60 (if you bought it at launch at least. it's better now). It's not exactly a "first world problem" as much as a pretty big problem in the gaming world right now IMO. I hope this is something that becomes less of an issue in 2015, but we'll see.

Bit the bullet and ordered a new copy of Captain Toad from BB ($31.99 after GCU). With the way Nintendo games go out of print these days, I didn't want to miss out on it.

I bought it at launch. Yes, it's incredibly ridiculous that so many studios (of which Nintendo is not among the ranks, for the record O:)) are shipping unfinished games. I also hope 2015 sees this trend so the way of the dodo, but I'm not holding my breath.

While it's not my intention to split hairs over semantics, when we live in a world where having shelter, clothing, food, and transportation means you are in the top 15% of the world's most wealthy, I would say that any gaming-related conundrum is automatically a #FirstWorldProblem

Nintendo releases finished games, but their systems are still programmed in a retarded fashion. Just look at the transfer process for systems...

A like new one should pop up at some point as well since I traded mine that was new / sealed to Amazon and it got accepted for trade today. Just a heads up to those looking for one. Snatch it before someone's cult of Crofts grows bigger. :p

I do not deny this. There is a vast amount of room for improvement. I trust the next generation of Nintendo's systems will be a leap in the right direction.

Snagged the (A) Sunset Overdrive. Thanks for the heads up!

No shit brother.

I dont see why everyone is complaining about the transfer process. Its really not that complicated
It's not that it's so complicated, it's just a pain in the ass. It would be easier to do it PSN style, let us put the profile on a new console, DL our shit, move on.

The Nintendo process isn't bad at all, just not as easy as it could be.
