F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What states does Amazon charge sales tax?
Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the following states are subject to tax:

Arizona
California
Connecticut

Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky

Maryland

Massachusetts
Nevada
New Jersey
New York
North Carolina
North Dakota
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
Washington
West Virginia
Wisconsin

Note: No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Those cards were $21/ea, so if they both work that's $18 + tax saving.
Hope they work. Other people have gotten cards from here, like PSN and Xbox ones and they worked.

There is speculation that WoW will be F2P soon.

But it's just a rumor due to files in the wow folders
They will probably adopt the DDO model, give you all the low level stuff, then make you buy the higher level and new shit. That business model works, I spent about $150 when I was playing for all the content and stuff over 3 or 4 years.

Really I am surprised they are still P2P, but that is pretty much THE MMO that everyone wants to beat, so why go down to a less than premium pay plan when it is still the premium product.

For anyone that cares, I am pretty sure Ultima Online is still around...I have a friend who still thinks it is 1998.

I managed to snag an Acceptable Persona 4 Arena Ultimax ( :ps3:) for $19.79. It sounded like a dinger ("Factory sealed. Large wrinkle/bend on set case."), so hopefully it's the launch set.
I just got mine that I paid $26.xx for listed in good condition missing it around BFriday (month long) sale. Mine was indeed the launch set and came with the Tarot card set and the Teddie Bop bag. Description read similar to yours so here is hoping you scored one as well. Good luck!

I wonder if I'll say the same about Star Trek: Online in the next five years, haha.

But I think Everquest might outdo everything.
No. Ultima will live longer. They have expansions every few years, and those 6 or 7 dudes that still play are on religiously. Like 22 hours a day, with a toilet that has been converted into a recliner, and a 7 foot tall stack of pizza boxes.

Generally speaking, I think MMOs kick around as long as they can. City of Heroes and Champions are the only ones I can think of that shut down. Floozerella, the Super Skank died with Champions.

Isn't there a way to play Runescape on the PS3?

I think Lego Universe and Star Wars Galaxies went away too.

Anybody in here recommend :ps4: Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed? My GS store has it preowned, after B-day and pur it would be $28.80. Kind tempted to get it.

I recommend it (platted the Vita version), but I'd hold out for closer to $20. The used price was $10 less a few weeks ago, so it's possible that could happen again.

Damn, I wish I didn't miss that. :wall: I'll wait then and hope I don't miss it next time, maybe by then more people trade will some in because like only 4 stores have it and 1 is right by me and the others are far away.

Y'all should check out this thread here so HTZ doesn't have to worry about off-topic posts being reported in here anymore.

Got a Smash Wii u very good 'backordered' (says it'll be in stock on the 20th?) for $40 after tax, very  happy about that!  Was about to post it since there seemed to be more but they're gone now :(  If you're looking for smash though I'd keep an eye on it.

Still there and still backordered. Earlier sladeums posted one in acceptable condition for around $31 so that is a good price in between.

:wiiu: Super Smash Bros. (VG) $36.10

Hey if you see :ps4: Sherlock Holmes : Crimes and Punishments for $20 or under let me know. That game is #1 on my list of video game wants. That game is stubborn on dropping.

Thanks Nightmarish Hero!

I bought a Black Friday Ps4 bundle, but I'm sort of debating whether to cancel it.

"Condition: Used - Very Good - Downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase. Item is in original packaging, but packaging has damage. Small (less than 1/4" x 1/4") cosmetic imperfection on front of item. Small (less than 1/4" x 1/4") cosmetic imperfection on top of item. Small scratches on sides of item (up to 1/2 in.). Accessories have cosmetic damage. "

The other listing was the same except it said "Small scratches on back of item" instead of "Small scratches on sides of item."

What do you guys think: Is this likely to be a dinger? What are the odds the GTA V and Last of Us vouchers are used or unused? The thing making me want to get this right now are the GTA V and Last of Us vouchers. I would really like to play those soon. Otherwise I could wait for Uncharted 4 to finally buy a ps4.

Edit: I just watched an unboxing video and see that GTA V is on disc. It's 6am and I haven't had coffee yet, but I'm finally starting to realize that if the Last of Us voucher is used than it's more than likely used on this console... fuck I still can't decide if I should keep this order or throw it back. I don't need a ps4 today, but I'm buying one eventually. I'm just thinking this might be the best deal I see for the foreseeable future.

yeah, NONE of them sounded like dingers, but it has been the case before that inspection reps just cover their asses and include stuff like "accessories have cosmetic damage" just so no one complains, also people are divided on whether those "cosmetic imperfections" mean the product box or the actual product.

GTA V is the actual case and game, and TLOUR is a complete toss up, i would guess 30% (based on absolutely nothing) chance of it working.

Always assume the vouchers are redeemed and you'll never be disappointed.

yeah, NONE of them sounded like dingers, but it has been the case before that inspection reps just cover their asses and include stuff like "accessories have cosmetic damage" just so no one complains, also people are divided on whether those "cosmetic imperfections" mean the product box or the actual product.

GTA V is the actual case and game, and TLOUR is a complete toss up, i would guess 30% (based on absolutely nothing) chance of it working.
Thank you for this info. I'm still debating. I guess I'm going to sleep on it a few hours and decide later. I paid with an expired credit card, so it shouldn't ship until I update the card information. I'm not feeling lucky at all right now. But I should probably take it as a good sign that someone with a Little Baby's Ice Cream avatar is the person who shared this find (check out my signature spoiler at the bottom if you never have before).

I have enough amazon credit to cover it, so I guess if it's too scratched for me I can trade everything to GS for around $300 if it has GTA V and the ps4 mic. I'll just consider it transferring $300 from Amazon to Gamestop and then I don't have to get on Amazon's shit list for returning this item.

You're right. That's very good advice also.

i just bought an amazon warehouse deal on a PSP bundle. it was listed as "LIKE NEW" comes in original packaging without shrinkwrap whatever (if you just look it up, youll see a similar deal right now). sooo $160 - $40 (gift card) = $120. I got it two days later. I thought it was a "dinger" because the packaging was bent on the side so i was like score, damaged box = $40 below retail value. opened it and the PSP was in pristine condition. but of course, no code for borderlands 2 and no memory card. so i brought it up to Amazon and they refunded me $36 for missing equipment. i was like okay, that's fine. I didnt play any borderlands games so dont care about the game. and i was going to upgrade to at least a 16gb. 8 is way too small. so overall, amazon resolved it to my liking and got a psp for under $100.

btw, gamestop has a deal on vita memory cards. $10 off 16gb and 32gb
