F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What states does Amazon charge sales tax?

Arizona
California
Connecticut

Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky

Maryland

Massachusetts
Nevada
New Jersey
New York
North Carolina
North Dakota
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
Washington
West Virginia
Wisconsin

Note: No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

I now this happens all the time, but I can't believe Amazon accepts these kind of items back?

Just a page or two ago people were talking about getting banned for canceling to many orders, but people replacing new items with broken old ones and returning them? Oh that's cool. As long as you don't cancel said item before it ships...

In your case, you say you traded it in and bought a new one, not purchased one and replaced the new with the old then returned it.
I think it's evident they don't take much time looking at each trade in.

Or really much time on anything but drones and cell phones that go absolutely no where.

Amazon returns centers are more about quantity than quality

The normal employee isn't even going to have knowledge of stuff like that

Haha I'm trying to see about changing his gamertag because that would be hilarious. I just signed into his profile on this console, and it said "signed out elsewhere." I'm sure this guy is confused now, since he doesn't even bother to wipe a hard drive before his little scheme.

Sorry guys, I'm just shocked because every time I have bought something off Amazon Warehouse in the past, it hasn't been a scam. I thought they might check serial numbers... Hey, if they don't, I guess everyone in this thread knows the trick to getting a new PS4 or Xbox One now!

You should put a password on it as well, change the email address. :)

Muahaha, now that everyone is looking that up on Google, I have free reign over AWD! $55 PS4 here I come! ;3
It's extra hard because we're all looking for 4K ones. I mean, 480p in unacceptable right? Riiiiiiiight?

And thanks a lot Blade now all of us are...

On completely related news, you know what we've been sorely lacking? Peanut Butter Twix.

Where are they, and why haven't we seen any in months?

it depends entirely on what the source for AWD is on consoles. You are assuming its returns, but amazon does take trade ins and who knows they may be taking supply in from target or some other retailer who is doing console trade ins.

imo its likely that someone simply bought a new xbox one, unplugged his old one and popped it into the new box and sent it in for a trade in somewhere, keeping his current connections and stuff.

if you have the guys email you should just send him an email and ask lol

i don't think you can change gamertags or other stuff without the password anyways, and changing the password will require access to the email account without the current password. i'm not sure about xbox one but if you can set up a primary account and use that guys account as a secondary, you may be able to play all his games for free

Omg, that guy with the headphones
Believe it or not...that's a stock image from Sennheiser. And if you think that's fubar:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHYcza8E3g8

...You're welcome!

Oh and AWD is NOT an authorized retailer on the Sennheiser list so unless they get down to $50 during a glitch sale, always buy em new from Amazon or a Third party seller on this list:

I'm about to say F it and just buy them at full (new) price...i've been waiting since November

I ordered an Alienware alpha for $418 like new. It's $430 at Dell new but with the Amazon cc I'll get $12 back, plus the return policy is better.
Seems like a good deal and a lot cheaper than building a HTPC/emulator box/some steam gaming in something the size of a Wii u WITH a 360 controller packer in

Before you do, let's see if my (semi) sage advice can help you decide. Here's a profile of the HD598 according to my ears:

- Open back with an expansive sound stage (not extremely open ended like the Audio Technica AD700)

- Treble and clarity is slightly sacrificed for sound stage

- Bass is clear and present, but doesn't have any "oomph" to it. Often takes a back seat to Mid range and treble

- Vocals sound wonderful. Depending on the recording, it's almost like bringing the vocalist to a small club (not that I didn't say your living room as they are not that "intimate")

- Proprietary cable - They're not that expensive if you buy from Sennheiser, I paid $21 after shipping for mine

- The tan color hopefully doesn't turn you off - it's not that bad in person in fact...

- You'll forget they're even on you. To me they're as comfortable as the AD700.

If you like what you've read, these HD598s are for you. If not, the Momentum 1.0 is cheap now and has excellent sound for a closed-back headphone. They'll sound a lot "darker" though so the mid ranges take the back seat instead of the bass.

I am currently using Astro A40's with the MixAmp Pro. Not sure if you have used them before. I would mainly use the Senny's for gaming. yay o nay

Edit: I also have Logitech UE6000's I never use for some reason.....

I still use the HD598 for gaming now and then (if you haven't noticed already I tend to jump around the headphone pairs a lot). My HD600 is for music and the few music projects I'll do. The only thing that might get in the way is an in-line mic. The Momentum goes well with games too but if you want sound stage, you can find some adapters or even a 598 cable with a mic in it to adapt the 598 to whatever console you're using. If you're OK with that, go for the HD598!

Funny those two headsets I've never used before. I do know they're well-loved so I can't say from my research that you've been living in the dark ages of sound (*ahem*Whoknows'BBYearbus*ahem*).

Thank you very much for the responses :D

My only concern as to why I havent gotten them is because of not having a mic (for PC, X1, PS4) (and that stupid low price on Amazon for $99 during BF d;lknaveive)

I ordered an Alienware alpha for $418 like new. It's $430 at Dell new but with the Amazon cc I'll get $12 back, plus the return policy is better.
Seems like a good deal and a lot cheaper than building a HTPC/emulator box/some steam gaming in something the size of a Wii u WITH a 360 controller packer in
Not a bad deal at all. I was looking at the alpha until I read about people having issues updating the drivers since you can't use a stock Nvidia driver. I want a small little gaming rig too, might go with a brix or a zotac though. I wasn't crazy about the fact that the base alienware was only an i3 too. At that price though probably the best small rig you can buy.

If you're using them competitively for positional audio the Audio Technica AD700's and AD900's are the best around. Not near as nice for home theatre/immersion as the Sennheisers though. Their $250 "gaming" headset is this $120 one with a boom mic attached.

I would change his password, gamertag, send to all his xbox friends a message that he is coming out of the closet, change his avatar to my little pony or something like that. Then send his email a bunch of spam letting a email spambot running for an hour. Call to order ONE pepperoni pizza to his address with his gamertag written inside the box using a google voice #.

He definitely traded a broken machine to get a free replacement, maybe it fell or had a power failure.

I want this...but it's expenisve as balls

http://www.modmic.com/

It's even attached to the 598's in the picture lol
that's actually what i do for my xb1 set up (modmic+hd598s) at the moment along with using the astro mixamp (2011 version) to set everything up. It's a alot of wires (I know it'd bother some), but the mixamp doesn't have a lot of room to juggle the sound. I feel like it goes from moderately loud to really loud, but the modmic itself is pretty good. I'm glad I bought it, I'll probably use it for pc gaming whenever I feel like investing into a gaming pc.

and at the end of the day, the reason headphones plus a mic are better than headsets are that the companies manufacturing these headphones like audiotechnica and sennheiser have been in the audiophile realm for a long time now (heck the 650 was once the flagship of top tier 10-15 years ago).

If u were gonna get a headset, another poster linked to some audiotechinca headsets, and they're basically the ad700 in headset form which are really good. The modmic (for those reading this post and are unaware) turns the headphone into a headset and to me was one of the most brillaint things I'd ever read (i was into audio for a long time, but didn't care about gaming audio)

Why couldn't you use a stock nvidia driver? There's a full windows 8.1 mode on there...huh. And the i3 doesn't bother me too bad. One youtuber said throwing in an additional 4GB RAM does wonders. My laptop has an i7 quad core so i'm covered in power if I need it. Im hoping it'll make for a slick, stealthy PC I can hook up for the tv alone. I also know there's some way to upgrade it to an i5, so if I ever just felt the need that's optional. A way to upgrade the GPU would've been absolutely perfect though.

Look at the 1 star reviews on Amazon...one poster goes into detail about it. I remember may old alienware m11x had a similar problem when I tried to upgrade it manually. I think it has something to do with Dell not keeping up on updates.
