F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky

Maryland

Massachusetts
Nevada
New Jersey

Wisconsin

Note: No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Believe it or not...that's a stock image from Sennheiser. And if you think that's fubar:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHYcza8E3g8

...You're welcome!

Oh and AWD is NOT an authorized retailer on the Sennheiser list so unless they get down to $50 during a glitch sale, always buy em new from Amazon or a Third party seller on this list:

http://en-us.sennheiser.com/authorized-dealers
That video though..

Got my A Destiny limited edition yesterday. It's complete but it was a trade in or return. The dipshit who returned it just slapped the label onto the actual product instead of, you know, putting it in a box. If I have the season pass how can I check to see if the codes are used?

If it's PS3/4 you can check online.

If it's an xbox code, check it on the console. Checking it online will redeem it automatically

Nono, I meant from sennheiser's page, buddy.
I want to have it available so I can compare prices (would rather have OEM).

*sigh* AWD has been so boring lately. Sometimes I see the stock go up, but either nothing new appears or anything new is way overpriced by AWD standards.

Well there's here:

http://en-de.sennheiser.com/accessories---hd-25-ii--connection-cable

about $53 USD

and here:

http://spares.sennheiser.co.uk/pro-audio-headphones/hd-25-and-hmd-26-cables

about $60 USD

And I finally figured out how to dig up the cable on the US site:

http://en-us.sennheiser.com/accessories

Now type in HD25 in the product search box and click on one of the matches in the results. The part number should be 523874.

$51.93

Originally I was going to the product page on Sennheiser's site and you cannot find the cable from that page.

ooh, excellent, thanks.
I've been considering this for a while, so might be getting it soonish.

People need to learn that an A (acceptable) console is highly be not a dinger, that maybe will not come with controller or any extra stuff and for sure will be an used console, so if you are buying a console in those terms, expect that. Also, since the crazy day of cheap consoles, AWD have been c**p, no huge discounts or anything. In fact, I was close to buy a ps3 for $130 but when I decided they changed the price for $167 and since then they have been discounting .5 cents :/

This ^ I got 2 Xbox 360 250gb with missing controllers, it is just a risk but even so I believe it should say it is missing the controllers as they are essential to the system but I am not returning them as they are still a good deal

How can you tell if a console is banned from live? I was able to get one, no controller, but I have an extra. I'm going to sell it on Craigslist, so I want to avoid downloading my profile on there.

I knew the risks, but even A (acceptable) consoles should at least come with a controller. How am I supposed to play the system or see if it even works?

That is the risk, many acceptable conditions tell you that are missing some stuff, but is clearly that amazon must specify that. Thats why, in my opinion, you can return the system because of the misleading description. However, I have seen some people here all mad about the condition etc expecting that the console was dinger or like new and you cant expect that. You need to think that you are buying an A condition and the condition will be like that

Really? I've gotten plenty of dingers rated as acceptable. The key is the description more than the ratings.

Acceptable - Downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase. Item may come repackaged. Factory Sealed.

That gave me dingers for a few CE games plus a Wii U within the last year.

Just download your profile, then revert it to factory settings before you sell it

Well, the description say it there, "factory sealed". However, maybe the item will come repacked, meaning without a box or an used console but with the box, but like you said everything is about description. Many of the awd A condition say that is missing something (manual, case, etc) and that is high risk that the console/game will be just that

the best way on acceptable consoles is look for this line: anything that mention anything about previous user means it a trade in every time and probably missing something

Here's what I recommend from experience with common descriptions.

Go for it.

Downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase. Factory Sealed.

Downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase. Item may come repackaged. Factory Sealed.

Eh, maybe?

Downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase. Item may come repackaged. Missing shrink-wrap, activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired.

(factory sealed + package damage)

This is from personal experiences but with that said you can't predict what you are going to get from AWD. Sometimes even an item rated as Very Good are missing components while some Acceptable comes almost brand new. It's part of the game and a sick side of me thinks that aspect is fun. I mean buying a acceptable item but getting more than what you thought you paid for gives you a good feeling inside. It Amazon was accurate then everything I've bought would have been Like New and that sucks because a lot of them are very expensive.

well my Alienware Alpha came in. No box, everything was just boxed up in bubble wrap. They did send an ASUS mechanical keyboard, but eh...I dunno. I paid $418 for a LN one, a brand new dropped to $449.99

:pc: :ps4: :xb1: ASTRO Gaming A30 Audio System | Black (VG) $58.10

:vita: Assassin's Creed III Liberation PlayStation Vita Wi-Fi Bundle (A) $152.02 (G) $162.15 (VG) $172.29 (LN) $182.42

:ds: Pokemon - Diamond Version (A) $26.66 (G) $28.44 (LN) $31.99

:xb1: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor (VG) $21.03 (LN) $22.27
So, I ordered the Astros. I figured I'd give 'em a chance for the price, maybe they'd work well for me.

Got em in today, and... They were the full set with the Mixamp pro. Better yet, I haven't found any damage on them yet. This is probably the best warehouse deal I've gotten in the past eight or nine months. Thank you so much DS2U!

Better chances but i get used with codes used too

So, I ordered Destiny LE (VG) and it arrived today. Other than a small (very small) nick on the box (and some stickers placed on there by amazon—why oh why?), that thing was in immaculate condition. Everything was in the box. And then I checked the codes...all of them worked, including the Expansion Pass, worth $35 alone! Thanks for pointing me to these deals! :D

Nice score. I put Destiny down a few months ago but I've got the itch to jump back into the game. Would have loved to gotten a dinger LE for that price.

I would advise against buying any pre-packaged, proprietary Linux PC like that. It's got a 4th Gen i3 with 4GB DDR3 RAM and last year's second tier graphics card. It'll be good for a little while, but PC gaming is already into 2160p and up whereas consoles are still stuck at 1080/900p. There's a new racing game coming out that's 12k resolution. You'll need moar powar to get the full effect of these games. I don't think you will be able to upgrade that like you would a regular PC, either.

I bought a better laptop for $379 last year. It has 6GB RAM and 750GB hard drive space. Run Steam in big picture mode, spend $20 on MS controller, plug the HDMI into my TV and I'm golden. I'd definitely return it if I were you.

I agree with you on the Alpha, overpriced for what you get.

But the consoles 1080P (at $400) vs a PC's 2160P (at MUCH more than $400) is not that great of a comparison.

Need more power to run that 12k resolution game? yeah... and how much will that cost? The biggest issue with PC gaming is $$$$$. Gotta keep spending more money to keep playing the new games, at least with a console it's $400ish every 4-5 years.

I build my gaming PC's, keeps the cost down... but it truly is a money sink.
