F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?
On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the following states are subject to tax:
Arizona
California
Connecticut
Florida
Georgia
Illinois
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky
Maryland
Massachusetts
Minnesota
Nevada
New Jersey
New York
North Carolina
North Dakota
Ohio
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
Washington
West Virginia
Wisconsin

Note: No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.

Items sold by Warehouse Deals and shipped to destinations in Alaska are also subject to local sales tax.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Any tips on finding deals?
Sure! Here is a guide for a plugin for Chrome users to set alerts for items. Part 2 of the tutorial helps get AWD link to item not currently instock or that hasn't come out yet.

For Chrome users PageMonitor is a handy plugin to catch deals. (Guide listed below)
For Mozilla users, Check4Change is a handy alternate plugin to that of chrome's.

Also, http://theforklift.net/ for those looking for AWD deals in a pinch.

From my original post (concerning PageMonitor and AWD links):

I wonder if I'm doing it right. I'm adding the used page of the product (and selecting free shipping to filter it), however the program alerts me there is a change eventough there is none (the Sorry message we see when there are no products with free shipping - usually AmazonWarehouse).
The way I do it is selecting the price itself. For example I go here: http://www.amazon.co...&qid=1427814309 then I select the game/console that I want too look and click where it say used (dont click on the item link, click where it say used under the item you want). Then with page monitor I select monitor this page. After that I go to options (on the page monitor tab) advance and then click custom mode, pick. That will open a new tab withe the webpage of the item that I selected to monitor and there is where I select the price (the number) of the item. Then click done. Thats it, thats how it worked for me.
Time to revisit Feb 25th 2014 (and March 30th 2012) :

Time to revisit March 30th 2012 :). I posted a guide then and it very much still applies with some tweaking to what I know now, so on with it.

Before I begin, know this that you need to go to the AWD site if you are after something specific from AWD like the vita in this example. Also you can fast click the link to the edition you want (if it is a console, handheld, or games), and see each price for AWD only items if they are available. You would be lucky to see something pop up on AWD if bunch of people are hunting down the same hot ticket item at any given time. On that note, the alert DOEScatch AWD items before they appear on AWD and if sniped quickly (1-click), others will most likely just see a ghost listing on AWD by the time it appears on AWD page. Setting alert on AWD page also eliminates false positive alerts since only AWD listings will appear on AWD page vs every minute change that will happen on the main Amazon listing page. Now onto the guide:

This may help answer the question for few who are wondering how to use "Page Monitor" extension for Chrome.

Once the extension is installed, do this. Select the AWD page (not the main Amazon listing page to avoid false positive alerts) to be monitored by clicking on the Page Monitor icon and selecting "Monitor This Page" link (Use the link swapping trick mentioned earlier to get to the page if the game isn't out yet). Then go to Page Monitor options and do as following:
gallery_327158_7630_1370780661_26889.jpg

(You can choose to have custom notification sound, desktop notification, length of duration for notification, and the length of duration for refreshing as you please.)

Once done tweaking the settings, then do this:
gallery_327158_7630_1370780661_26890.jpg

Once you have done step 6, you have set the page to be monitored and you are set. A notification will go off that a change has been found but that is just to notify that you have set an alert. Mark it off as visited and from this point forward you are set to go.

Pro Tip: Set it to monitor the "used" tab via "selector" under the options by checking off "custom mode" instead of monitoring the whole page. If you set if from the warehouse side then it will only alert you if one pops up in the warehouse.

Those step diagrams have been here since the 1st time I made the guide back in March of 2012 and it is under my profile in my gallery so feel free to revisit it if the need arises.

I hope that helps my fellow CAGs. Happy hunting everyone :)

Mulder, on 04 May 2015 - 3:24 PM, said:

One thing for the procedure is that there are no New 3DSs available in the warehouse at this time, so I need to wait to test this approach.
Part 2 of the equation on how to get notification for items not on AWD and or ones say coming out in the future (like MGS V: CE)

Do this to get AWD listings for those items. Open a link to an AWD item (any item) but it needs to be an AWD link. Say something like this:

http://smile.amazon..../offer-listing/B00841ZJYO/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&qid=1430778305&sr=1-15

The part in bold is the Amazon's item listing and each item has its own unique listing identifier so to get the new XL item listing go to the item's page and from it's link get B00S1LRX3W

http://www.amazon.co...DS-XL-Black/dp/B00S1LRX3W/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1430778512&sr=1-1&keywords=new+3ds+xl

and replace the B00841ZJYO with B00S1LRX3W in the AWD link and voila you have AWD listing for an item not yet availabe.

http://smile.amazon..../offer-listing/B00S1LRX3W/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&qid=1430778305&sr=1-15

Here are all the new xl links:

Nintendo - New 3DS XL Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Limited Edition - Gold/Black
New Nintendo 3DS XL - Black
Nintendo New 3DS XL Red

I hope that helps. Good luck and happy hunting! :)

Woah...nice price! Hope one of you got it! :)

I saw that Lime Vita earlier...was a bit tempted but I already had one. Gotta wait for some different colors!

Looks like I might have bought the last one. I traded my other slim in Friday and the Glacier White PS4 I bought a year ago (thanks to this thread btw!) for the new Destiny Taken King PS4. Had a couple of stupid games lying around and after both the $50 PS4 bonus with the $100 credit for PS3s I walked out with a brand new Destiny TTK PS4 having only paid $46. It's good to be a CAG. Thank you and thank you again DS2U! It wouldn't have been possible without your work!

But I wonder if this is a good deal or if that Super Slim PS3 that GS is offering for $112.97 is a better deal? You know...because the 60GB BC PS3s are all supposedly ticking time bombs?
I heard the super slim is the flimsiest piece of hardware, similar to dollar store toys.
The first slim was the better model imo.
I wanted the ttk PS4, but merely for the sake of having the pattern, I still don't want to pay much for the game itself. Bungie sux.

Just wanted to chime in, I have had both an original ps3 and a super slim. The super slim is super flimsy, loud, and runs incredibly hot. I would recommend the original over the slim any day.

Update on my recent orders that arrived today.

Infinite Space (G, $31) did arrive complete with case, artwork, cart, and manual. The case has some wear and the artwork has a little wear. The cart looks like there may have been something written on it that was removed, though it's barely noticeable. Overall though for the price I paid I'm happy with it.

Dark Cloud 2 (G, $20) was missing the manual. This has happened a few times to me lately where games were listed in G condition and supposed to be complete and arrived missing the manual. Also, the artwork had some wear. I hate doing returns or I would send this back.

N64 Expansion Pack (A, $10) this arrived and looks fine but it was not the official Nintendo one like it was supposed to be.

I've had less luck lately on items arriving as they should, but atleast Infinite Space arrived in good condition which was by far my most important one on this list.

I heard the super slim is the flimsiest piece of hardware, similar to dollar store toys.
The first slim was the better model imo.
I wanted the ttk PS4, but merely for the sake of having the pattern, I still don't want to pay much for the game itself. Bungie sux.
fwiw I've been perfectly happy with my super slim vs the first slim. people bitched about the top sliding door mechanism but I really like it since I don't have to turn on the ps3 to swap discs. I've moved it upstairs/downstairs semi-frequently and never thought it felt any more or less flimsy than any other console.

it might be a bit noisier then it's hot though, I'm not sure. it gets left on a lot inside an enclosed cabinet for hours at a time and I can usually hear it when the fans kick up to full speed. it's not even in the same league as the ps4 when that thing kicks up, but you can definitely hear it.

not that you were looking for some super slim convincing.

When you guys are buying these ps4's/xbox1's for 200 some odd dollars are you sending them in to get repaired or are you just keeping them as is and buying whatever accessories are missing? if anyone could add some insight to this i would greatly appreciate it

I don't know if anyone would buy something expecting it to not work. I bought my Xbox One used from CowBoom for $180 (w/ Kinect). If it didn't work, I would have returned it. Luckily it did and came with all the accessories.

But thats just it you said " luckily " it worked, and if it hadnt you would've returned it which is what i suspect alot of these guys are doing. I just wanted a definitive answer from one of the guys that were fortunate enough to snag the ps4/xbox1 for such a great price

Anyway speaking of cowboom how recently did you purchase your xbox1? im in search of a ps4 and i keep going back to that site to see if there is anything worth while and every listing of the ps4 claims to be from the same location and it lists the condition as either fair or satisfactory. Something seems fishy to me, i dont understand how every single listing can be phrased the same way with minor adjustments here and there like " significant scratches on unit " and " significant scratches throughout console "

I got it last year. Deals come up frequently but you'll have a hard time getting a complete one. Mine actually did come with everything including the box which was nice.

And it does sucks since it is very hard to get a complete much less at least the necessary items from CowBoom or Amazon. Still, with enough looking (every day, every hour... I know, a lot), you'll be able to get one cheaply.

I absolutely love amazon , but i just found out about cowboom yesterday and having items come incomplete and in " fair " condition is very new to me. Im afraid to trust the site specifically concerning the ps4's because of how beat up they are. It makes you wonder how over 45 ps4's can all be beat up in the same manner.

Have CAGs had any luck getting the box and manual with "Good" condition GBA game on AWD? There are some I'd buy with the description

"Includes manual, cover art, and packaging. Bonus downloadable content may have already been redeemed. Clear external signs of wear or damage to the packaging or instructions may be present. Game may have identification markings from its previous owner."

I just bought one GBA game with that description, but I'm not sure if I should buy any more. I know it says it comes with manual and packaging, but for some reason I still don't trust it.
I have had very bad luck with GBA. 1 arrived DOA and the other was a chinese knockoff shell on top of an old AGS 001 screen. Both indicated shipped in package with instructions etc but both came in bubble wrap and beat to hell. One was labed G and one VG.

Just wanted to chime in, I have had both an original ps3 and a super slim. The super slim is super flimsy, loud, and runs incredibly hot. I would recommend the original over the slim any day.

Well, I guess it's a good thing I went ahead and rebought a PS3 slim then! And with that flipping credit it only costs me like $40 anyway. Thanks guys.

And do the 60GB BC fat PS3s really blow that bad? So far I've put in about 20-30 hours into the thing and it doesn't seem to have issues. Does run very hot though but I have it on top of a table vertically standing since I notice a lot of the air shoots out the back, but it also likes to vent vertically too. Physically heat rises anyway so why not help it rise out of that thing?

I'm just saying I wouldn't have turned it in to Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, etc., would have just returned it.
If you did send it to the MFGs you'd likely be spending the amount of a brand new console anyway combining what it cost for a broken unit AND repairs. That's what kinda made me blink and trade my AWD PS4 from a year ago from a brand new TTK PS4 in case the thing has a problem. And my old PS4 was loud and hot from the beginning anyway but I didn't use it all that much; too many JRPGs and frankly better games on my older consoles to go through. #RetroMasterRace

It depends on a lot of factors really. Amazon will normally include all accesories, so that isnt an issue. I got my xbox one for $150. I didnt notice it was broken until recently and decided to send it to micrsoft for warranty. But if i had paid $200+ i would problably have returned it to amazon.

Really depends on a lot of factors and how much you trust sony or microsoft to repair it. And also if it still has warranty and for how long.

That being said... Im done with buying used microsoft products ahahah

hahaha! i love the last line " Im done with buying used microsoft products ahahaha " yeah dude i just really do not see the point of buying a ps4 with the last of us bundle for 350 dollars. Im almost 100 percent sure that there will be a better bundle near christmas time for 50 dollars cheaper. In the mean time i think ill shift my focus to stocking up on the ps4 games that i want and seeing which HD i should go with. I saw yesterday that a guy went straight for the 4TB HD i was like oh yeah if your a dedicated gamer you will have to upgrade -____-

:wii: Wii Les Paul Wireless Guitar (A) $14.68 (G) $15.66

Bought the (G) version, which stated that it came with box, manual, etc....arrived in a plastic bag with no cover to hold the wiimote in and is covered in stickers. I mean, I guess it works fine, but I don't even know if it's worth complaining about.

What JRPG's are even out for the PS4? No really, I love JRPG's but my PS4 is mostly used for other games. The Order, inFamous: SS, Until Dawn, etc.

COD: Advance Warfare Atlas Pro for Xbox One $25.99

Any chance this is a dinger? Season pass would be nice.

Used - Good

Includes manual, cover art, and packaging. Bonus downloadable content may have already been redeemed. Clear external signs of wear or damage to the packaging or instructions may be present. Game may have identification markings from its previous owner.

The fact that it mentions a previous owner leads me to believe that the season pass is already redeemed.

not a dinger for sure, this is a trade in

Wait, your basis is games that may have a possibility of being on it, and not current and announced games?
It's based off of those too...I mean, Dragon Quest, Star Ocean, The Tales series...though I'm wondering if Bamco will launch stuff for Xbone. I know there was stuff for I think Guilty Gear and...ugh...can't remember the other titles...but I know they're Japanese Niche games!

But yeah...the PS3 was the great if you were in the JP Niche camp. Considering patterns that already have been set, I'm not expecting much more or less at this point.

I guess I understand but you're describing one genre on the console. It's not bad that Sony has more JRPGs but its not like they don't have a plethora of other games of other genres (same goes for any system). You could simply ignore JRPGs and play any of the other games it has.

EDIT: Guilty Gear is a fighting game series, not a JRPG.

Omega Quintet and Sword Art Online are the two I can think of off the top of my head.
Omega Quintet...that was one of the titles I couldn't pull out of my head. I remember a GS employee mentioning he enjoyed it except for the fan service parts...

Yeah I kinda spread out to JP Niche games so if I started going all over the place sorry about that. I'm not saying the PS4 and 3 are solely JP Niche/JRPG machines, but they certainly get more games from that market. I for one am happy to have both consoles because of that. I kinda used to be a Sony fanboy in the past when I could only pick one or two consoles but with a career now (and this forum), I have access to most platforms with the exception of some of the really retro ones and the XBONE (it'll happen in the future though as somewhere along the line I'll break down and just pick one up cheap on AWD or something like that) so I'm definitely not one for console wars and shenanigans like that.

Should i jump on the jstar victory vs ps4 version for 44 bucks? Or do you think that i can get it cheaper if i wait?
I've already seen it go down 40 bucks after GCU at best buy. Personally I bought it when it was on sale for 42 on psn a few weeks back just because I prefer to have digital copies of fighting games.

Thanks for the reply i lucked out and just one a physical copy of jstar victory vs for $38.74 im so stoked!!

Cool. It's a pretty simple fighter, but it has a lot of my favorite characters in one place so I'm loving the game.
yeah dude ive wanted it for so long, i cant wait to play it and bask in the glory of it all lol. I really hope that we get more characters in the next one dude. Its ridiculous how they chose to add in a bunch of wimpy characters from weirdo animes lol

Forgive for sounding idiotic but i still have no idea how to sign up for GCU if you could enlighten me id really appreciate it
You need to do it in store, someone in the gaming department will help you sign up. Its $30 for a two year membership. Here are the details https://corporate.bestbuy.com/just-30-the-new-price-to-join-my-best-buys-gamers-club-unlocked/
Just curios, why is everybody going crazy over the wii?
Was kind of wondering that as well. Is there something awesome I'm missing? Because I got one in my closet that's been there for four years now.

I have however thought about busting it out to play GC games but I'd rather just buy a GC instead of the Wii in that case.

because we have a problem here on this site, it doesnt matter if we want it, just if its a good deal. if its cheap enough everybody wants one, even though they dont really want one.
