F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?
On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

Virginia

Wisconsin

Note: No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.

Items sold by Warehouse Deals and shipped to destinations in Alaska are also subject to local sales tax.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Any tips on finding deals?
Sure! Here is a guide for a plugin for Chrome users to set alerts for items. Part 2 of the tutorial helps get AWD link to item not currently instock or that hasn't come out yet.

For Chrome users PageMonitor is a handy plugin to catch deals. (Guide listed below)
For Mozilla users, Check4Change is a handy alternate plugin to that of chrome's.

Also, http://theforklift.net/ for those looking for AWD deals in a pinch.

From my original post (concerning PageMonitor and AWD links):

I wonder if I'm doing it right. I'm adding the used page of the product (and selecting free shipping to filter it), however the program alerts me there is a change eventough there is none (the Sorry message we see when there are no products with free shipping - usually AmazonWarehouse).
The way I do it is selecting the price itself. For example I go here: http://www.amazon.co...&qid=1427814309 then I select the game/console that I want too look and click where it say used (dont click on the item link, click where it say used under the item you want). Then with page monitor I select monitor this page. After that I go to options (on the page monitor tab) advance and then click custom mode, pick. That will open a new tab withe the webpage of the item that I selected to monitor and there is where I select the price (the number) of the item. Then click done. Thats it, thats how it worked for me.
Time to revisit Feb 25th 2014 (and March 30th 2012) :

Time to revisit March 30th 2012 :). I posted a guide then and it very much still applies with some tweaking to what I know now, so on with it.

Before I begin, know this that you need to go to the AWD site if you are after something specific from AWD like the vita in this example. Also you can fast click the link to the edition you want (if it is a console, handheld, or games), and see each price for AWD only items if they are available. You would be lucky to see something pop up on AWD if bunch of people are hunting down the same hot ticket item at any given time. On that note, the alert DOEScatch AWD items before they appear on AWD and if sniped quickly (1-click), others will most likely just see a ghost listing on AWD by the time it appears on AWD page. Setting alert on AWD page also eliminates false positive alerts since only AWD listings will appear on AWD page vs every minute change that will happen on the main Amazon listing page. Now onto the guide:

This may help answer the question for few who are wondering how to use "Page Monitor" extension for Chrome.

Once the extension is installed, do this. Select the AWD page (not the main Amazon listing page to avoid false positive alerts) to be monitored by clicking on the Page Monitor icon and selecting "Monitor This Page" link (Use the link swapping trick mentioned earlier to get to the page if the game isn't out yet). Then go to Page Monitor options and do as following:
gallery_327158_7630_1370780661_26889.jpg

(You can choose to have custom notification sound, desktop notification, length of duration for notification, and the length of duration for refreshing as you please.)

Once done tweaking the settings, then do this:
gallery_327158_7630_1370780661_26890.jpg

Once you have done step 6, you have set the page to be monitored and you are set. A notification will go off that a change has been found but that is just to notify that you have set an alert. Mark it off as visited and from this point forward you are set to go.

Pro Tip: Set it to monitor the "used" tab via "selector" under the options by checking off "custom mode" instead of monitoring the whole page. If you set if from the warehouse side then it will only alert you if one pops up in the warehouse.

Those step diagrams have been here since the 1st time I made the guide back in March of 2012 and it is under my profile in my gallery so feel free to revisit it if the need arises.

I hope that helps my fellow CAGs. Happy hunting everyone :)

Mulder, on 04 May 2015 - 3:24 PM, said:

One thing for the procedure is that there are no New 3DSs available in the warehouse at this time, so I need to wait to test this approach.
Part 2 of the equation on how to get notification for items not on AWD and or ones say coming out in the future (like MGS V: CE)

Do this to get AWD listings for those items. Open a link to an AWD item (any item) but it needs to be an AWD link. Say something like this:

http://smile.amazon..../offer-listing/B00841ZJYO/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&qid=1430778305&sr=1-15

The part in bold is the Amazon's item listing and each item has its own unique listing identifier so to get the new XL item listing go to the item's page and from it's link get B00S1LRX3W

http://www.amazon.co...DS-XL-Black/dp/B00S1LRX3W/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1430778512&sr=1-1&keywords=new+3ds+xl

and replace the B00841ZJYO with B00S1LRX3W in the AWD link and voila you have AWD listing for an item not yet availabe.

http://smile.amazon..../offer-listing/B00S1LRX3W/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&qid=1430778305&sr=1-15

Here are all the new xl links:

Nintendo - New 3DS XL Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Limited Edition - Gold/Black
New Nintendo 3DS XL - Black
Nintendo New 3DS XL Red

I hope that helps. Good luck and happy hunting! :)

My 2 cents: eBay is fucking garbage

Tried selling digital codes on there for a bit, would have people "buy" them, half would go "what's this code for?" on items that are only available as a code, the other half would file a complaint or whatever

The last time it happened I had enough. PayPal is shit too when it comes to eBay.

Not only did PayPal basically deny my service (Could never open account, in limbo with confirming shit, filled out info, filled out bank account shit over and over)

So I used my wife's account, anyway, the last time I had someone rip me off, of course PayPal took the money away. Contacted support and said that I would never use their service again if they didn't refund me for the guy stealing my code and money

They gave me my money back and that's the last time I bought or sold on eBay

I just want a cheap Vita :( Those deals are always snapped hella quick on here.

Amazon said Prime Day was incredibly successful and they want to do it again.

I rather wait for Black Friday; I want my $10-30 Game deals and $3.99 - 7.99 Blu Ray deals dammit.
I'm sure they do. You won't get any of that stuff through Amazon though unless they're matching somewhere else you could have gotten it easier hours earlier.

Prime Day was a definite hit for retailers, but not for people looking to spend economically. There's a general lull in sales during the summer months, and people were lured into participating through all the hype. The deals in general were pretty bad across all retailers, from what I saw. I checked out all of the deals, and there were so many shitty ones that were 100% claimed that I had to laugh. There was some sort of miniature piano on sale for $799 in the musical instruments section that was claimed within half an hour.

So I used my wife's account, anyway, the last time I had someone rip me off, of course PayPal took the money away. Contacted support and said that I would never use their service again if they didn't refund me for the guy stealing my code and money

They gave me my money back and that's the last time I bought or sold on eBay
Selling codes is against the TOS. I'm not saying don't do it, but you have to go into it with the expectation that you will lose any claim. That's just how it is. Don't like it? Don't sell them there.

What do you guys think is the best price someone could buy / sell the "Plush" day 1 edition (Collectors edition?) of Little Big Planet 3 for the PS4 brand new? I believe I can get it right now new for around ~ $22...worth it? Is it fun for "adults" or a 14 year old? Or better to buy/sell?

My epic haul from Prime Day arrived. Smash Bros. for Wii and COD: Ghosts for Xbone were Like New and great. Then I opened up my Like New Mario Kart for Wii. My 4 year old was not pumped when we found a Like New copy of Beatles: Rock Band for Wii in the Mario Kart case. He said, that's not Mario. Oh Amazon Warehouse, you so crazy.
Oh you struck gold. You got the better game, consider it lucky.

Be better than this guy, sovereign. Get the ps2 games too. And the associated mana khemia games too. :)
Yea be better than me and buy them ALL!
I may or may not. I just found Atelier Annie at a GS today while picking up a new 3DS (because I have too many Vitas). Wow, I can't believe some midgets carried off Annie in her bed and slept through an entire boat ride to an island that's God-Knows-Where out there.

These Atelier openings are pretty entertaining I'll admit.

How much was the ln mk?

I have 26 feedback (some color star).

I just feel so many ppl are scummy and ebay/paypal always side with the buyer.

Gonna try to sell it for like $39.99 OBO
Not a bad idea, I've saved my XB1 gold scorpion code too. Now that the box is getting cut in price it won't be as rare. EBay you have a shot because it's a physical card. Not sure if I trust it though.

I sold my Gold Scorpion for $50, it's always easiest to sell those things as soon as you possibly can, most of the time they're worth more at launch (there are some very rare exceptions, I know the flaming helmet for Halo Reach started being worth a lot even 4 years after launch), and there's a good chance that it's going to be released for free (the Kold war scorpion that was gamestop pre-order exclusive that sold for like $80 is free now) and all the mk9 pre-order skins are now free.  It might be different since it's a collector's edition thing, but I can imagine that they'll either sell it like blue steel sub-zero for $2 or make it free, so I'd try to sell it as soon as you possibly can.

Where at? And did you mail it out or just send the code via emaiL?

eBay, and I just sent the code via email. HOWEVER as others have mentioned, selling codes on eBay is always a gamble. I've only had one negative experience out of like 10, but the possibility is there. If you sell it just be prepared for something to go wrong, and if you want to be extra sure ship out the physical voucher though, but even then there's a chance.

I got the LN Etrian Odyssey Mystery Dungeon 3ds game today from Wednesday's prime day. It was the soundtrack version and the game itself was still sealed in the box. Did anyone else who ordered one get something similar?
I got the same. That's a nice little surprise for such a cheap game.

Yeah, you can easily sell "rare" DLC for good money on ebay. A lot of people complain about it, but there's both buyer and seller protection. As long as you document the card well, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If they open a case and try to con you, submit your documentation and they will generally back down for fear that they'll be caught. And if they don't, escalate it and ebay will determine who is lying.

But you generally shouldn't have any trouble. There was a Facebook event to get those flaming helmet codes, and I registered six accounts, got six copies, and sold 5 of them for $30 each without any problems. I sent the codes digitally, too. Someone looking to pay a lot for some stupid avatar suit like that will be more thrilled with owning it than trying to con you, most likely.

I have a pretty decent ebay record, 100% positive. Took a break from it about 2 years ago, last month i threw up some club nintendo rewards (majoras soundtrack and the gold nunchuk), both tried to scam me and filed claims. This was after the nunchuk purchaser freaked out about shipping so i spent an extra 5$ out of pocket to make sure it was double boxed.

I dont know what happened to ebay, but its gone to hell. I have so many decent collectibles i want to offload due to space, but have lost all faith in people at this point. But with selling DLC, if they call your bluff and escalate it, you lose 100% of the time due to it being a TOS violation.

I sold a PS3 a couple years ago and it was delivered via ups. I had the proof and everything. Seller claims they never got it even though it said delivered.

Laid out all the facts and guess what? PayPal sided with me as a seller.

I was shocked.

That's the only time it has ever sided in my favor.

Is Amazon Warehouse a good place to find a deal on an iPod touch and/or an iPad Mini?  Went to the Mobile subforum of CAG and the iOS section seemed kind of dead.

I want to play some iTunes exclusive games.  Or is there a way to play iTunes bought games on a non-Apple device?  Thanks ahead.

i think its about time ebay updated their TOS, after all they are in violation of their own rules by selling electronically delivered gift cards

I'd check Craigslist. AWD usually doesn't sell Apple stuff at too high of a discount unfortunately.

Another option would be to go to your local Best Buy or call and see if they have any open box ones. They usually are just returns and they are garunteed. They will at least be 10% off the normal price.

Agreed.

Also, while im on the subject, since when did selling on ebay become so EXPENSIVE?. On 90$ sale, they charged me $32.70 in fees (paypal, ebay, shipping and delivery confirmation). After i got the bill i looked into it. I found one poor guy who sold a $6.98 item, and was charged $4.44 in fees. He basically came away with 2$, and that doesnt count the gas to the post office and the time to box/ship.

Add this into the fact that ebay has become more buyer focused when it comes to disputes. Its very difficult to actually win a dispute from what im reading as a seller, even if you document everything correctly.

When i ship an item for what it actually costs to ship, ebay charging me a shipping fee on top of that just to ship the item is BS. I understand why they do it, to stop penny auctions with 50$ shipping fees, but this solution punishes the seller.

/rant over, sorry for the OT, just something that really burns a fire in me right now. Ill continue to use ebay, but only as a buyer. I was considering listing my Gold Scorpion skin i just got as 50$ is crazy for that, would cover what i paid for the whole Coarse edition, but TBH, i think ill just use it. I CBA with dealing with the BS that comes with Ebay.

Yeah, it is very buyer-oriented, especially considering that they took away the ability to leave negative feedback as a seller. I think the ebay shipping fee also takes into account the shipping discount you get from printing labels through ebay, which I think is 30%. And I've never paid that high of a percentage in fees. Are you offering free shipping? Buyers always pay for shipping with me. I sold a $300 autographed item a little while ago and ended up with a net total of about $230.

No, it's not. Especially if you live in a taxed state. The ipad mini 2 was hovering around 260 in AWD for a while so I just ended up buying a wife a new one at best buy for 230 this week, They were 70 bucks off for "tech tuesday".

One more piece of advice, don't buy the ipad mini 1. The 2 is sooo much better and not that much more expensive.

ebay/paypal take 13% total in fees....so if you sell something for $90, they take $12 in fees.

Hopefully I don't get bent over, listed my Scorpion skin for 5 start/30 bo. Was rather explicit they're buying the card.

Hey this is a dumb question but I've only been a CAGer for about a month and a half now and I couldn't find any information regarding the term. I keep seeing the term 'dinger' pop up in this thread and I'm curious as to what that is exactly, from what I've gathered I think it's an item that comes in at excellent quality at a great deal for the purpose of resale (So like hitting a home run on a AWD) but I could of course be mistaken.

A dinger is a brand new item that usually has a box that is easily damaged. This new item is sold on AWD for a lot cheaper than a New one because the box has suffered some minor to major damage that they don't think they should sell for new.
