F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?
On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

Arizona
California
Connecticut
Florida
Georgia
Illinois
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky
Maryland
Massachusetts
Minnesota
Nevada
New Jersey
New York
North Carolina
North Dakota
Ohio
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
Washington
West Virginia
Wisconsin

Note: No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.

Items sold by Warehouse Deals and shipped to destinations in Alaska are also subject to local sales tax.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Any tips on finding deals?
Sure! Here is a guide for a plugin for Chrome users to set alerts for items. Part 2 of the tutorial helps get AWD link to item not currently instock or that hasn't come out yet.

For Chrome users PageMonitor is a handy plugin to catch deals. (Guide listed below)
For Mozilla users, Check4Change is a handy alternate plugin to that of chrome's.

Also, http://theforklift.net/ for those looking for AWD deals in a pinch.

From my original post (concerning PageMonitor and AWD links):

I wonder if I'm doing it right. I'm adding the used page of the product (and selecting free shipping to filter it), however the program alerts me there is a change eventough there is none (the Sorry message we see when there are no products with free shipping - usually AmazonWarehouse).
The way I do it is selecting the price itself. For example I go here: http://www.amazon.co...&qid=1427814309 then I select the game/console that I want too look and click where it say used (dont click on the item link, click where it say used under the item you want). Then with page monitor I select monitor this page. After that I go to options (on the page monitor tab) advance and then click custom mode, pick. That will open a new tab withe the webpage of the item that I selected to monitor and there is where I select the price (the number) of the item. Then click done. Thats it, thats how it worked for me.
Time to revisit Feb 25th 2014 (and March 30th 2012) :

Time to revisit March 30th 2012 :). I posted a guide then and it very much still applies with some tweaking to what I know now, so on with it.

Before I begin, know this that you need to go to the AWD site if you are after something specific from AWD like the vita in this example. Also you can fast click the link to the edition you want (if it is a console, handheld, or games), and see each price for AWD only items if they are available. You would be lucky to see something pop up on AWD if bunch of people are hunting down the same hot ticket item at any given time. On that note, the alert DOEScatch AWD items before they appear on AWD and if sniped quickly (1-click), others will most likely just see a ghost listing on AWD by the time it appears on AWD page. Setting alert on AWD page also eliminates false positive alerts since only AWD listings will appear on AWD page vs every minute change that will happen on the main Amazon listing page. Now onto the guide:

This may help answer the question for few who are wondering how to use "Page Monitor" extension for Chrome.

Once the extension is installed, do this. Select the AWD page (not the main Amazon listing page to avoid false positive alerts) to be monitored by clicking on the Page Monitor icon and selecting "Monitor This Page" link (Use the link swapping trick mentioned earlier to get to the page if the game isn't out yet). Then go to Page Monitor options and do as following:
gallery_327158_7630_1370780661_26889.jpg

(You can choose to have custom notification sound, desktop notification, length of duration for notification, and the length of duration for refreshing as you please.)

Once done tweaking the settings, then do this:
gallery_327158_7630_1370780661_26890.jpg

Once you have done step 6, you have set the page to be monitored and you are set. A notification will go off that a change has been found but that is just to notify that you have set an alert. Mark it off as visited and from this point forward you are set to go.

Pro Tip: Set it to monitor the "used" tab via "selector" under the options by checking off "custom mode" instead of monitoring the whole page. If you set if from the warehouse side then it will only alert you if one pops up in the warehouse.

Those step diagrams have been here since the 1st time I made the guide back in March of 2012 and it is under my profile in my gallery so feel free to revisit it if the need arises.

I hope that helps my fellow CAGs. Happy hunting everyone :)

Mulder, on 04 May 2015 - 3:24 PM, said:

One thing for the procedure is that there are no New 3DSs available in the warehouse at this time, so I need to wait to test this approach.
Part 2 of the equation on how to get notification for items not on AWD and or ones say coming out in the future (like MGS V: CE)

Do this to get AWD listings for those items. Open a link to an AWD item (any item) but it needs to be an AWD link. Say something like this:

http://smile.amazon..../offer-listing/B00841ZJYO/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&qid=1430778305&sr=1-15

The part in bold is the Amazon's item listing and each item has its own unique listing identifier so to get the new XL item listing go to the item's page and from it's link get B00S1LRX3W

http://www.amazon.co...DS-XL-Black/dp/B00S1LRX3W/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1430778512&sr=1-1&keywords=new+3ds+xl

and replace the B00841ZJYO with B00S1LRX3W in the AWD link and voila you have AWD listing for an item not yet availabe.

http://smile.amazon..../offer-listing/B00S1LRX3W/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&qid=1430778305&sr=1-15

Here are all the new xl links:

Nintendo - New 3DS XL Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Limited Edition - Gold/Black
New Nintendo 3DS XL - Black
Nintendo New 3DS XL Red

I hope that helps. Good luck and happy hunting! :)

Anyway, a followup to my question to you guys earlier: the Amazon rep and her manager said they were unable to change the payment method because it's in the process of authorization. I also asked her if I could call back again after I receive the item and change the payment method then in which she said was not possible. The only way a payment method change can occur is if the original payment method fails.

I learned something new today.. You can scan the codes on the back of the Amazon gift cards to apply it onto your account using the Amazon app on your phone. This whole time I had been typing in each individual code. The scanning took about 5 seconds.

Does anyone know anywhere I can find a list of Vita games that were Asia physical only that have English text/subtitles ?

Thinking of some games from AWD, but not sure if they have English subtitles.
Probably not really what you're looking for but maybe it's a start. I saw this before on Reddit, it's not a complete list by any means, though. Maybe it'll help you out. You can go to Play-Asia and under Vita games check version Asia and language English. I'm sure there's a more complete list. I think I've seen one but don't remember where, but maybe you'll find what you're looking for. Here's the link:

http://www.play-asia.com/games/playstationvita/games/14/711ab#fc=v:6,l:english,p:2

There's also this thread which might be useful but I haven't really read enough of it to know how much so. It does show some of the actual physical games which is pretty cool, though:

http://thevitalounge.net/forum/threads/english-asian-physical-releases.2198/

I'm not going to lie, these were up there when I Googled it. LOL. so I'm not in any way pretending to know any better. Any games in particular? I might know off-hand. I usually go Japanese for imports, though, unless price factors in of course.

Funny joke; Amazon sent me a copy of Mass Effect 2 instead of the limited edition kf Mass Effect 1. They sent me a standard copy, how do you mess those two up?

That's good to know thanks for the tip. I just never updated my app before but after doing so I see what you mean now.

I didn't think about that because Amazon said they contacted ups to track the package. But I might try and stop by there and see if they tell me the same thing
Call UPS and get through to the manager where the package was last scanned, you will get the 1-800 call center but ask them to have the manager call you or get the local number from them.
Amazon probably just looked it up online, or called the 800 number and stopped there.
Talking with the local manager will help a lot.

Don't be a dick with them.. But don't back down either.
Driving down there and trying to get a manager may not get you anywhere.

Thanks, pretty damn cheap and the battery life intrigues me.

Will give it a shot.
The battery life is real...plug it in for < 2 hrs and you are good for 10. My wife also uses it for her college courses.

If I had one gripe, it would be that the google cloud print quality isn't quite as good as my Thinkpad is over wifi. It's easily good enough for most applications though.

The Sony Gold headsets seem to be $50 at all walmarts in store.
On that note, I successfully pricematched at the Garner, NC BestBuy. All the Walmarts in my area sold out just yesterday, so I just took a pic of the tag still up on my phone. Showed it to the rep for a price match then used my $40 cert.

It's all thanks to your last tip off, Darby. Thanks a bunch! =D

I just stopped by after work and talked to the lady scanning packages and she had them go look. Guy found it pretty easily. Shipping label got ripped off. Everyone was nice about it. Easy deal.

So I bet Amazon did just call the 800# like you said. Should have come up here Tuesday or Wednesday and checked lol

Finally got my (A)  (VG)

PS3 in from the other day. I took the plunge and grabbed the worse description one before I shared here. It said it would be repackaged and would have damage to the front of the system. It was repackaged but came flawless and complete, as f the box was destroyed so they took all contents and reboxed it.

Another lucky grab! Hope whoever got the other one has the same luck.

EDIT: was very good rating, doubled checked right now.

Nice score man! Was that the one that was for ~$62?

Yah the $62 from a few nights ago. Thanks!

Not a glitch night, but its something lol. Now we need that to happen again instead of one lone listing lol
Agreed, no change in algorithm so it could go one of 2 ways. 1. It will be sudden like 2 years ago or 2. it will be gradual like last year. We will have to wait and see. Signs are there that something is going to happen, we just don't know when.

Fingers crossed for more cheap consoles, $0.25-$2 games, and super low price CE again!

:D/ :D/ :D/

I received my (G) Xbox One today that I bought a few days ago. It was repackaged as described; everything was included minus the game (which I didn't expect or really need anyway). Some light scratches on the glossy part but nothing unusual; everything was in pretty great shape and the controller looks and feels like new. Now I just need to get an Xbox One game to test it out beyond the initial update and dashboard.

Pick up one from GS used. 7-day return policy, as people bring up all the time. ;)

That reminds me I do have a copy of Arkham Knight I am holding for Monday, I can try that out.

Also, as others experienced, a (LN) Etrian Mystery Dungeon came complete with the box and CD and everything inside sealed.

Would just like to state my supreme jealousy and displeasure. Been trying to get one for about a year now, with no luck.

That happened to me once before when I ordered a ps2 memory card pack off ebay. Waited forever for them to come never did so I contacted the seller and ordered a second one. Then magically the first one showed up the same day as my second one did a month later.

...and I guess I jumped the gun as the One won't read any discs even after a hard reset. Back it goes.
Ouch. Better luck next time.

My (VG) Arkham Knight CE from Prime Day arrived. I was prepared for the "10% cosmetic damage to the top and side of the product box," but AWD surprised me with a steelbook and statue with gnarly scratches, a "wrinkly" comic (looked like water damage tbh), and an obviously resealed game.

And, yes, the Arkham Knight statue is as underwhelming in person as everyone is claiming--nice artbook though.

Customer service will make it right I hope. It's definitely going back no matter what--I can't deal with the scratches on the steelbook.

Glad you got it.

People don't know how many "lost" packages are due to poor/ripped labels.

Didn't have time earlier today to mention this but I work for the USPS, a few years back we had a package leak over a few other packages. (Someone sent some pickled crap in glass jars.. *don't* do that..) anyway 1 package got the brunt of the liquid. Both the return address and mailing address were wiped out. The barcode didn't get wet at all. We kept the package at the supervisor desk for 5-6 days hoping someone would call. They eventually did, tied the tracking number to the box.

Side note, always get a tracking # on any package you send.. (it's cheap) makes life so much easier anymore. Clear tape over the address sections of the label also helps, but don't put it over any barcodes (if you print the label from home. if you can do it clean thats great.. many people fuck up the barcodes and make it a pain to scan/manually enter)

Oh and if you are printing the label at home... please do NOT use "ink saver" mode...

A. the barcode won't scan most times.

B. the label fades VERY quickly. Ink saver labels touch anything.. and the ink just disintegrates.

I have shipped hundreds of things over the years always using ink saver settings on my packages and never had any issues. Doesn't seem like it could be as terrible as you say.

Backlash, that's horrible advice. I have an eBay store as a secondary income that is successful enough for me to declare on my taxes, and in addition to what ackbar7 said, I also completely cover every label with clear packing tape. It protects the label from water damage, or pickle juice damage in the event that someone who's bad at his job breaks a pickle jar on top of it. Out of more than a thousand packages I've sent out, I've never had a label that couldn't be scanned through the tape, nor even a complaint about a package being lost in transit.

But I remember you from some PC-related topic where I completely invalidated your uninformed argument and you just went "lalalala I'm right you're stupid" and continued your stream of wrong opinions, so I shouldn't have expected much in the first place.

Because we MANUALLY input the barcodes.... our new scanners work better through tape, but the old ones the clerks still use.. don't scan for shit through tape. throwing packages in the morning there is a hamper for unscalable parcels they either have to do manually later or steal a new scanner. wastes a shit ton of time, many just get thrown without a scan.

Only argument I got in with you was the BS when one of your steam buddies got himself banned, and YOU were shown to be egging him on.. but you denied it and said it was all in good "fun"

BTW, re read the DMM while your at it. NONE of the address or barcode is to be covered up. Technically not supposed to accept it, but the USPS never enforces their own rules.

Yup. I cover everything with clear packing tape that I send out to protect it. It works excellent.

BL2 PS Vita: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00HLT0YT0/ref=olp_twister_child?ie=UTF8&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&mv_edition=0

$133 G

A couple of things came in from AWD...

I got sick of wading through card only DS games at GS so I took some of my GS credit and bought a LN AWD copy of Mario and Luigi partners in Time. Complete and very clean. Yes! About $32 after tax so not much different than GS for the case and manual.

And then there's this:

[attachment=15943:20150724_223622.jpg][attachment=15944:20150724_223627.jpg][attachment=15945:20150724_223653.jpg]

$47 after tax and I am very happy since this is the cheapest I've seen it...well since I've started looking for it that is.

Oh and if any of you are looking for the YS LEs, I'm going to guess someone traded in all three at one shot:

Ys Chronicles I and II:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B003U3WRY6/ref=olp_prime_all?ie=UTF8&shipPromoFilter=1 LN $40.61

Ys: Oath in Felghana

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00429E6KU/ref=olp_prime_all?ie=UTF8&shipPromoFilter=1

G $43.66

In case you're wondering...no I don't want the Chronicles LE since it's basically $10 more for the box and music CD. For what it's worth, you're better off grabbing a brand new copy from Amazon for $30 and downloading the entire soundtrack off of Amazon MP3. Really, it's that worth it.

@ HelloNurse: Sorry to hear that about your AK LE...Amazon should give you a month of Prime for that debacle.

Same. Only problem I've ever had with tracking was where i dropped off about a dozen packages at once one day and the tracking on all of them just showed them randomly going all over the country. Freaked all the customers out and was all USPS's fault and at the end after they were all delivered the right tracking info showed up after the crazy stuff.

I put my labels in those shipping pouch things that have the sticky side to attach to the mailer or box. They're free at my UPS Store. Saves time, money, and tape.

Forgot to say Thanks, I actually thought I got the ghost order since It had a long ass estimated delivery. It's preparing to ship now so I guess other person canceled but I'm happy.
The black Polk - Striker ZX is $39.99 at BB if you missed it being posted.
Hey Kickz, I was at BBY earlier doing one last GS > BB flip and since I was a dingus and didn't figure it out until earlier today that I needed to add it to my cart online I was thinking, "Why not give the Striker a shot?"

You may want to give them a try yourself...from what I remember listening to the Melee (which is identical to the 4Shot) the Striker has the same bass and mids but the treble has been fixed. It's still relaxed and laid back but I'm pretty sure I'm hearing details better on the striker right now as I type this. First few hour impressions: I'm impressed especially for $40. For $90? Well, you need to know what you're getting. They're basically a pair of (possibly entry-level "audiophile") headphones with a retractable mic marketed as a gaming headset. These are clearly better than the old Philips Fidelio L1 which I thought sounded similar to the Melee/4Shot.

IT WASN'T A DINGER, YOU LIED TO ME DS2U!!!!!! WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME? :nottalking:

:) I kid, I'm still happy with it, no packaging but it did include the headset adapter and had the boom mic. So glad it had the boom mic. Everything looked good, had minimal wear. Pretty much got it for half off because I sent my Xbox stereo headset in for $15 tiv acceptable after seeing the condition.

Also if that headset pops up, do know that it doesn't have the headset adapter but the mic itself is new. I never used it.

Whenever i've had to return something the instructions always say not to put tape over the barcode because it won't scan

I've never seen such hostility towards someone in a position to know telling you how things work.  You're not all having problems because they're doing their jobs despite you making it a pain in the ass.  This is far from the only time I've heard from a postal employee that tape on the barcode can make it harder to deal with.
