I'm really trying not to be rude but judging how quickly things are going this wave unless Ninty is producing these in big numbers I don't think we'll have any "commons." I to this day within the city of NY have never seen a Megaman or Sonic amiibo outside of the NWS in Manhattan.

And yet those are considered "semi-common."

1) Your small sample size isn't inductive of the whole country.

2) All of wave 3 sold out before release. Yet, Bowser, Toon Link Sheik and yes, Mega man and Sonic have been pretty easy to find. Only Ike, King Dedede and exclusives were hard to find.

I'm not sure if Wave 4 will be like past waves, since this is the craziest it's been yet. But...

If we're only judging by preorder data, Pac-Man should be the most common of them all. I've had multiple opportunities to preorder Pac across BB, WM, and TRU after initial preorders sold. But Charizard (especially) and Wario have been harder to catch.

Analyzing the situation is harder because there's no way to tell how popularity comes into play. For instance, are Charizard and Wario much more loved by fans in general than Pac-Man, and that's why the first 2 sell out more quickly?

Or is it simply that preorder stock for Pac-Man is more plentiful?

Maybe Nintendo is pulling another Toad and will restore the balance (a bit) between the 3 just a few weeks after release?

Though we don't have anything substantial to work with, FE characters will most likely be a pain. Everyone's "waifu" especially. Man, I hate what that does to her character.

Here in the south I see Megaman and Sonic all the time. Every single store I go in has it in stock. The first month of release that wasn't the case but it slowly became that way.

Each new wave pre-orders goes "more quickly". The popularity continues to grow. I've had several chances to get all 3 supposed commons though so can't really say much about that.

 
i went to TRU today and tried to put in greninja sku and it came up 9999. lol 

the worker wanted to try it for me as he wanted to get one himself. i left with donkey kong and smash yoshi amiibos.

Not mine, though Super Metroid would be on the list. Definitely not the majority though.

I will say that I hate mascot platformers, so that does eliminate a lot of Nintendo's more critically acclaimed games from my own best of all time list.
 
I think it may have been mentioned a few pages back but just in case here's a
PSA for anyone that pre-ordered Wave 4 from FYE:

FYE is no longer going to be carrying video games in-store and this unfortunately extends to amiibo figures as well.
If you already pre-ordered any Wave 4 amiibo from FYE, you can get your deposit back by bringing in your receipt.

It's definitely frustrating that I'll have to track down the new amiibo elsewhere but I was able to get my full deposit back without any issues.

 

 
Pac Man will be common as fuck.  Can you name a character more synonymous with videogaming then Mario?  YEAH, PAC MAN.

He'll be right there on the shelves alongside Sonic and Mario, don't worry.

For some reason I ignored the yoshi and Dk part and assumed you were talking about two greninja at 9999 with one as 40% off. I can't stop laughing picturing that scenario in my head.
 
Anyone else notice that (other than Diddy for some reason), ALL of the amiibos are sold out? SSB Mario, SMB Peach, etc., all "Sold Out Online". Someone sweeping through with GCU hoping to sell them for $15-20?

Very strange. Added diddy to cart and he seems fine. Might be some maintenence or something.

Free shipping if you add 1 common to a Wave 4 preorder. (But surely that can't be the only reason...)

 
Based on licensing agreements, I would expect a high number of Pac-Man figures and no chance of ever having a reprint.

So I think he will be common enough that you don't have to panic, but "rare" enough that you should grab one when you see it and don't just expect it to linger.
 
Got the alerts for the figures on amazon.de ... tough to justify 28 bucks shipped to nj on a backup figure that hasn't been released on our Amazon or target yet, but hopefully others can grab it!

If you're into Codename STEAM I'd say they are a "Must have" as they add playable characters to your story, but other than that... nah, its all most cosmetic (except for Smash Bros. of course).

I have ordered movies from them for years, but have never ordered anything game-related. I searched amiibo on a whim to see if there was anything I could add to my cart to go above $25 on a Blu-ray that I wanted and ended up ordering Wario and Pac-Man.
 
ordered movies from them many times without issues but not so high hopes of this panning out.  Oh well ordered anyways since i've missed out on every other opportunity

Hope it's a nice way of saying it's preordered lol. I placed an order on Lucina, Robin, and the 3 pack. Hope it goes through man because this looks like my last resort unless some miracle happens later down the road. The prices were pretty good, kinda like GCU except like 10 percent off everything.

Yeah its almost incredible when you look at how many stores are in a 10 mile radius of where I live and nothing is EVER on shelves other than commons. Literally 9 walmarts and i was unable to find ONE Gold Mario in stores and had to purchase it 2nd hand from a fellow amiibro here locally.

BTW, I forgot to thank you man. You pretty much made up my day mainly because I'm having family health issues at this moment. Hope preorders go through and I doubt a lot of people know about this place for amiibos.

I always use PayPal, that way my purchase is covered if anything happens.

One time they showed an extremely-limited edition of a movie in stock by mistake and cancelled my order without any fuss.
