Well, 10 is less than 12 and more than 5. Most likely, since the last time you talked to him/her, the employee was just asked by a manager not to give out specific numbers anymore.

camping out for the pre-order and then having to camp out on the day of the actual release is just plain stupid. 10+ hours waiting in line to save 30-40 dollar isn't worth it to most people.

Who said you'll have to camp out for the release in addition to waiting for the pre-orders? I'm just saying that either you camp out for the pre-order now or you don't get one. These people thinking you're going to walk in on release day and get one are in for disappointment.

If your assuming they aren't going to have any available I would say you are wrong, TRU as shitty as they may be (few hicups) always has the item on hand the day it's released.

I'm sure it will be in the ad and available for that. I still wouldn't line up for it overnight, that's just batshit crazy. My time is worth wayyyyy more than any of these things, it's not a PS4 or XBOnE.

I think they are handling this release more conservative, this doesn't help out most of the OCD crowd around here but I guess the whole amiibocraze is thanks to that.

lol yes, yes 12>10>5. I'm just hoping that it's semantics too. Rather than the PLU preorder mishaps creating lower number of available preorders. Or worse, employees potentially claiming preorders before the event goes live. 

Fewer preorders means more trouble for me. Since the other 6 waiting in line at the TRU (the morning after Greninja went up at 3am) were all scalpers. Shameless scalpers at that. Interesting note:  during the bragging session, the scalpers extensively complained about "unemployed neckbeards stealing all the preorders in the middle of the night." Two of them even had neckbeards themselves, and they were all standing in front of a TRU mid-morning lol.

Even so, I'm not camping out in the cold showers, especially not in an shady area like that. But I probably won't have a chance at all if I'm not in position by 6 am. There's bound to be 5x more people than preorders this time around. Maybe 6 am isn't early enough...

Same here. Figure it means that some employees snagged a few. I'm planning on swinging by for 7am or so if I can. When I called them about this (1st time) they said 3 others had called before me (mid-day) so I know there's at least 3 other people who are probably planning the same thing...

 
Imagine if Nintendo released a wave of Amiibos where they only made 100 total in the world per character.

Half the people would tear each other apart over them because they'd be so rare, and the other half would be devastated knowing they'll never have their collection truly complete. Just sit back and watch the drama unfold!

Would line up early but have exams and projects today so not worth staying up all night. That and people in my area lined up at least 3 hours before hand for the last wave so I expect 2 - 3 for the pre-orders.

I usually don't care if people camp (I've done so myself) but to camp 12+ hours for something is insane especially when you can just buy it from some seller for $50. Going by just minimum wage you could either sleep or make about $87 instead of waiting for a toy. Crazy.

Losing the sleep / productivity is still better than giving an asshole the $50. Some people that camp out work too and they wouldn't necessarily be working if they weren't camping out so it isn't like they could all have made $87 instead of camping out...

 
glad im not fully invested with amiibos at this point in time.... seeing all this posts... camping outs, scalping, and what not for $12 figures are really ridiculous. good luck with all you collectors out there.

I make a decent amount an hour, big differance. I know I'm the minority in this dept. I do it for the hunt because I enjoy it, but the craze is getting ridicoulous, I would rather take my chances. I have a ton to trade right now though, so I'm counting on those.

I'm in Ohio at TRU right now. Got here at 530 am, no one is here but another car that's on. I go out of my car and am sitting in a chair next to the door. It's a nice day out at leaset and I don't mind being out here till 10 am. I have stood outside for Target and Best Buy already so far. I going to take short lunches at work this week to make up my time as I have an hour lunch everyday/
 
would love to be able to go to toys r us this morning but damn school always in the way, good luck to those going, the greninja figure looks pretty badass

I wish the weather was shittier. There was already a line at TRU in aurora IL at 4am, figure 6 hours wait time to get one, ebay price $60-$14 retail, 46$ profit for seller, or $7.67 an hour, yup ebay here I come.

Beavercreek Ohio. I'm the only one. I was sitting outside from 530 am till now but honestly I just went back to my car and left my chair there. I will go back once I see someone come but it's just been employees so far.

It's kinda heartbreaking to hear you are up at toys R us at 5:30 (they open at 10 right?) for only pac man and greninja.... Like the guy said if it was all wave 4 or at lease 2 per customer I'll be so down. Good luck to you thou, congratulations on being first

I'm dumb, I should have honestly come around 8ish am instead. Could have slept in as it was almost pointless to get here this early as no one is here. I have my 3ds and my phone. I'm also sitting in my car as its only I think 35 degrees outside. I stood outside for meta knight in -12 degree weather but I didn't get there till 730 that time.

Better to be safe than sorry! You're guaranteed a preorder, so that's all you should really focus on.
 
I'm about to head out to mine, I'm going to be pissed if there's already a line. This is the last one I need for this wave.

How many people are in line already? I cant get to that location until after I drop my daughter off at 9 AM for preschool. =/

I dont count a line if they are in their cars, thats just dumb, i understand in the winter since its freezing but in the spring x summer x fall you can stay outside
