Can confirm this for Target and BB but not WM. Also, Gamestop sent mine in large boxes with plenty of packaging. No damage ever from Target, BB, or GS.

 
Just got my Target orders of Jiggly, Marth, and WFT in (each ordered separately):

  • Jiggly has some packaging dents but looks okay, was not packed with anything other than the order slip
  • WFT had air bubbles and looks great
  • Marth came in a dented box, no packaging outside of the order slip and the box looks very dented.  I ordered one other as well so hopefully he comes in better shape.
 
Damn, foiled by GameStop's stupid password system (had to reset because I couldn't remember the convoluted password I had to make up for the account).
Had him in my cart. :/

Always gotta buy now and think later, man. You can always return them. From what I have heard you can also return individual pieces of a gamestop bundle most of the time. On other sites you can cancel if you change your mind.

FWIW Lucina is in stock across most of Amazon's EU sites. Shipping is brutal but if you buy enough amiibo the cost per unit goes down dramatically. I was able to land Lucina, Zero Suit Samus, and Bowser Jr. for just shy of 17 bucks a piece shipped. My collection is finally complete (for amiibos currently released in the US) .....until next week. If you need multiple "rares" , Ike, robin, little Mac, and capt falcon are all in stock.

Earlier today I wasn't able to get Robin from Amazon.de, but after your post I went back and was able to get Robin and Sinister Pit.

I mostly made this post so I could say Sinister Pit. Way cooler than Dark Pit.

I managed to snag Ness, but was too late for the others. :(

 
Just a heads up, i was at two different gamestops today and they both got wario, charizard, and nes for sale in store.  Wish I would've been home though because a shulk would've been nice.

Correct. Go on their website, you are able to locate which stores have Charizard and Wario right meow.

 
I just came back from Nintendo World. Only rares are Fox and King DeeDeeDee, and there's an abundance of them. Also checked out the Iwata tribute. There was a lot of Bananas and Ness drawings.

This guys telling the truth! My GameStop got the exact sams shipment. I got ness and Charizard. guy said 1 character per customer
 
Missed out on Charizard and Shulk. Had Charizard in cart too but decided to go to store and get it in person. Called and they said they just sold out, came back and it was sold out online. Damn...

I'm seeing some Amiibo on eBay at decent prices, but some at much higher prices claiming to be "first editions."  Is there any easy way to tell if an Amiibo is a first edition or not?

I have both an old and a "reprint" Dedede. The newer Dedede cardboard backing mentions compatibility with the New 3DS while the older one doesn't mention it. That's the difference I noticed.
