As tempting as it is to scour the 2 TRUs in my area, I'm content with waiting for my Gamestop, Amazon, and Bestbuy pre-orders. I'm confident GS and Amazon will come through for me. BBY is just a backup. I have a full set pre-ordered at Gamestop and a few random figures from Amazon.

Just be aware that some of the Amiibo's are store specific.

Lucario is TRU exclusive :)

Oh I know. I have one in-store Lucario and one online. I have Shulk pre-ordered from GS and one at Amazon JP. Meta Knight at BBY and Amazon JP. If I can't get Rosalina from Target, I have one on the way from Amazon FR and another from Amazon JP...

I'm absolutely batshit insane aren't I?

Post on reddit showed a picture from the bestbuy inventory system of the new amiibos. It looks like at store open each store is getting an average of

10 bowsers,

4 toon links

and 2 shieks.

Obviously will vary by location but that seemed the general proportions

Just got out of the Escondido, CA TRU and they had bowser and toon link only. I grabbed one of each and they only had 1 toon link left.
 
I am resisting the urge to buy the ones i don't want. Bowser is the only one i want and im sure he'll be common. with that said

Toys R Us in Hawthorne, CA next to Best Buy / Home Depot has Bowser, Toon Link, and Sheik. They have a lot of Bowser and Toon Link only a few Sheik. 

 
I had a torturous day yesterday here in Japan, resisting the urge to purchase Ike, Toon Link, Shiek, Bowser, Dedede, and Metaknight in lieu of waiting for my Best Buy order to come through.  I sure do hate waiting.  But at least my Rosalina and Lucario arrived, woo.

 
So Sheik is arriving in lower quantities. Im glad I preordered her and the one I forgot to preorder (Bowser) seems to be in relative abundance.

I seriously hope they won't be rare with the exception of Shulk.  I really hope nintendo doesn't go the skylanders path of forced rarity though.

Exactly. If they're not restocked ever they'll be every bit as rare as we expect. Also because the stock is only being spread across one chain each store could initially have significantly more of them than anything else and there still be less in the wild.
 
TRU said they would have them at opening tomorrow.

Fry's had nothing new. But atleast I found a copy of Danganrompa for Vita, so the trip wasnt a waste

 
Got last Toon Link at my TRU around San Jose, CA area, 4 Bowsers left and no Sheiks. No clue how all stock disappeared so early cause Silicon Valley should be a working professionals place, everyone should be at work!! Haha. Going to check some local Fry's.

My only concern with all that I saw was that the employee told me he literally just took the Amiibos off the truck and put them on the shelf, so I'm wondering how many of those were supposed to be held for preorders.
 
So there I was at Wal-Mart today, a 40+ year old man picking up a Pkemob game and Peach and Zelda amiibos. This is what my life has been reduced to. Damn you Nintendo.

Yup. I'm worried about this too.
I have a full set card ordered through tru and 2 more lucarios (1 card, 1 online)
I feel like they won't be honored.
Hope I'm wrong.
