Whew, thank god I ordered Little Mac at the last second today from BB when I did. I feel like he's a pretty popular character in the online matches anyway, so I can see him selling out fast.
 
No wave 2 at any of the stores I stopped at today. I blame this thread for me chasing erroneous stock numbers in search of villager today.

I checked Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, 7-Eleven, TRU, my local grocery stores, and Radioshack and no Villager. Everyone on CAG needs to chip in a penny and pay me for gas!!!

I still feel based on the statements they release that they will re-release WFT, Villager, Marth at some point. But I doubt they will bother retail stores with their shelf space issues.

My guess is that if they do it at all it will be pre-order only through their website or another company. In that case they fill some demand but also keep stores from losing room.

 
I remember hearing a while back that 7-11 carried Skylanders for a short time. Has anyone actually seen amiibos there?

As a side note, I went to Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Target today and the pegs were literally empty, save for one or two lone Peaches.

I doubt they will stop producing something that can help turn a profit. Those amiibos will come back soon. Maybe not till after the holiday season, I intend to save that extra $60 mark up and buy another game or two for Christmas with that saved cash and still get the rare amiiibos at retail price in January.

 
So I pre-ordered 5/6 of the wave 2 amiibos from best buy for shipping.

The delayed ones say "Status - released 12/30/14" while Zelda/Lil mac say "Status Not available".

Should I be worried about Zelda and Lil mac?

Anyone want to go splits on some Euro Marth, WFT and Villager? Around $13.65 before shipping... Shipping is what kills it, to ship one it's 13 euros, to ship 6 its 16 euros.  But after shipping they are around $16.50 each.

Anyhow, like I said in a post above, after shipping from Amazon that comes to $16.50 each. Assuming I get these, I'm keeping one Marth and one Villager. If any Cags need one (assuming I get them that is), I'll have 2 marth and 2 villager. 

Edit: All spoken for. I PM'd the CAGs who wanted them. Looks like Amazon.Fr is the only place to order them right now, so if anyone else wants to help some CAGs out, a bigger order helps as shipping stays around the same price.

I ordered three Marth myself just the other day. They arrived in about three days. One box was slightly bent but otherwise in good shape.

Shipping from Amazon isn't a problem, just pricey unless you buy a lot to make it worth it. Their shipping rate barley moves when you buy multiples instead of one.

 
Grabbed a Little Mac from Target today. The put out Zelda, Diddy, and Mac. Checked the SKU's for Captain Falcon, Luigi, and Pit and they said not in stock. When I got to the checkout the register told the cashier they were street dates for tomorrow 12/12 and couldn't be sold. After asking for a supervisor I was told I'd be allowed to buy it but they had to pull the stock because they goofed. So check Target bright and early tomorrow if you want Mac.

Also a note on stocking/shelving. Marth and Villager both only had 1 peg each, this has been the case at 8+ Target's I've visited. So did Samus, Mac, Captain Falcon, and Pit. Every other figure, including WFT had 2. So, I'd bet that Pit, Mac, and Captain Falcon will be the ones to "drop out" in Wave 2. Grab them while you can.

Yeah I bought two to sell and one to open and use. I only bought two to justify the shipping and recoup a little money back from the Amiibo spree I went on when I realized I may miss out on some if I didn't jump in.

As you know many companies of this size operate at a loss for many, many years. As was widely publicized ealier this year they could potentially operate at this loss for almost 40 years because they are estimated to have 10 billiion dollars in reserves...

Well they are a tenth of the way there already... lost money 4 straight years. These figures will come back. Do not buy into this panic and pay more than you need to. Going to stay true to the cheapassgamer in me, and let this crazy phase go by and then buy when the price is right. Be patient. Heck just a few posts up you can see these figures being bought at about $17 each. Stay cheap my friends and grow that backlog.

 
This thread is making me awful paranoid.  Like I don't even want Little Mac, I think he's terribly stupid, but I'm feeling like I need to find him while I can now.  Diddy too since I actually want him (not that he should be hard to find).  Pre-ordering Pit and CF before they go OOS at BBY like the others.  Only one I'm not concerned about finding is Luigi (love Luigi but thing his figure just looks dopey).

Just watch Nintendo troll us again and Luigi be the Marth of this run.

Ugh, so much money being thrown at these figures.

I agree with staying cheap and have only bought a couple of these characters for my home office to put on shelves. When the fuck did I get so old?

Just remember with other items like this, there were characters that were not easy to come by from the start and remained that way for a long, long time. These items were being made by companies that operate in a different way than Nintendo. Nintendo is almost like Apple, they do what they do to please the hardcore and come up with something great from time to time to please the masses, because of that don't count on these characters anytime soon. It could be years or it could be never or it could be by spring.

 
Just putting it out there for the armchair financial analysts.  Nintendo most recently posted a profit and are expecting another large profit for this quarter.  Their times of posting a loss are gone, now they're back to filling up their Scrooge McDuck money bin.

I'm feeling the same way on these. I'm not even really sold on using or even collecting them but I've been buying them up and pre-ordering just to not miss out. At least I've not opened any and they're all returnable.

Yeah, I keep finding myself pre-ordering them in pairs just so that I can use them if I want. Like I don't even like WFT and I'm wanting to use her even though I would be silly to when she's selling for three times MSRP.

Long story short I just pre-ordered a pair of Ikes.

But why Villager and Marth though too....they HAD to know how popular Marth is among the fans. And Villager has a big fanbase as well.

 
went to a diffrent BestBuy than my regular one and saw that they had Zelda out today. Wondering if the one that had my online preorder will actually wait until sunday to allow me to pick them up or if they even have instock yet

Gonna take a shot with this one here.

I believe simply Nintendo is rushing out the SSB4 line of Amiibo's as fast as they can to make way for future titles that use Amiibo's. For instance, We'll likely see Marth again in the SMTxFE Wii-U game and for sure see Villager show up in the AC Wii-U game.

Quite honestly, Im also expecting other games' Amiibo lineups to be rushed/limited as well. This might not end folks. The good news is, That's more cool DLC and value for your figures.

 
Found a target with the new amiibos. Have a little Mac on hold but he said they only got 4 of them. They seem to have a lot of Luigis and Zeldas.
