What I think is really ridiculous is that figures that haven't even been released yet are already sold out and out of production. Marth, Trainer, and Vllager probably saw low numbers due to a perceived lack of interest, especially since the latter two are awful on Smash Brothers, but Rosalina is a popular character, wanted by both the casual and hardcore. Her lack of availability is going to tick more people off than make them more voracious.

She's not sold out, she's being saved for in store release.
 
Is there any third party seller from Japan on Amazon that you guys would recommend? I'm wanting to get Meta Knight but can't decide who would be the most reliable route to go with.

Mm I wouldn't trust any of them however amazon has a "A-z" rule so worst case you can just file one if you don't get what you want however if you do and it's damaged? not sure what you'd be able to do about that.

 
Weird. I preordered Rosalina and Lucario from Amazon.it. I ordered Wii Fit Trainer from Amazon.de, but Amazon.fr won't ship Meta Knight to the USA.

This is from Amazon directly, not 3rd party sellers.

There is a drop down list for area's it ships to and United states is not one of them ;P

Not anymore it isn't. Tese things sell out within minutes now. No one's taking any chances on missing out on the next Pit or Little Mac. I'm gonna laugh so hard if Rosalina and the other Wave 3s that resellers are pre-ordering by the dozens (or hundreds, in Rosalina's case) turn out to be quite plentiful after release.

 
I'd love it if the retail exclusives are everywhere just to stick it the scalpers that have ordered dozens of them. I've decided I'm going to take my chances on finding the exclusives and if not then order overseas. I'd kick myself if I ended up finding them here after paying the price for about two-three Amiibos.

I still think they will be, with the exception maybe of Shulk (because Gamestop sucks). I mean, both Meta Knight and Rosalina work with games coming in the next two months. That suggests to me Nintendo would produce a lot of stock assuming people might get them to go with their new purchases. Like how they said they're making more Marths for Codename STEAM.

Went to Gamestop today and was talking to the employee there.  Take this with a grain of salt but this is what he said.  Shulk amiibo will be for preorders only.  No extra figures at launch.  A couple of months down the road they will sell "used" Shulk figures.

Doesn't know when the next wave will be up for preorder.

This has been a rumor for some time and like you said, take that info it with a grain of salt. He is probably just repeating what he read online. In my experience, GS employees really don't know much more than us about future releases and anything they say is probably just a guess or rumor.

I think this will be Pit all over again where Shulk will be only for pre-orders but receive 1 extra in the box for the floor until the next shipment arrives....But Gamestop knows how to play the amiibo game now (think there was some article on this) so they will always make sure to come out on top

Good lord he said TWO. Not that he bought out the whole stock. I bought two Ike's because I wanted to pick out the one with the "best face", as I know some Marth's look better than others. Maybe he wants one to keep in the box and one to open.

I have a full set of wave 1 and 2, but don't post it. It is great hearing people find what they need through this thread, but the "Coke Zero" thing gets old. Does everyone really care what some anonymous person gets? If you do, disregard my comment, but I still don't get it.
 
I opened my link today to play with hyrule warriors. The figure is a lot smaller than I expected.

I couldn't get the Disney infinity figure trick to work though

Recieved my two pits a few days ago from amazon.de imported they where perfect. Recieved in one box 2 villager and 2 marth and 3 out of 4 are extremly damaged box wise. One villager was bent on the side of the box all the way down. Then both marth came completly folded cause they didnt fit in the box. There was no padding and the box should not have fit 4 amiibos. Hope others dont recieve the crap that I did. I am contacting amazon. Thats ridiculous to import something like that, and pay all those fees. To get this crap.

Bought one to keep sealed and one to play. They actually had more, but I made sure someone else was able to get some. Geez man, you act like i bought 20 lol smh.

Would also like to add that I was just at Nintendoworld and they had TONS of Foxs, I think we'll be seeing a solid restock in other stores. Still, couldn't resist, bought one 😛

If you use some travel international cards they have no foreign transaction fees. When I go abroad or shop for thing internationally I do not use my AMEX. Paying an added 3-5% is annoying and wasteful. If you do either you may want to look into these travel cards without foreign transaction fees (I have one from my bank that I pretty much only use for this purpose)

 
I'm curious, has anyone found other nfc devices to mimic amiibos or vice-versa where these nfc figures can be used in other games or places?

Which trick is that? If it's the rumor that placing Amiibos on an infinity base will allow that character to be played on the Wii U version of Infinity, well, I haven't got that to work yet either.

A couple people reported that they were able to place an Amiibo on the gamepad and quickly swap it with an infinity figure. This reportedly registered as a random amiibo with the gamepad, allowing the user to unlock all in-game amiibo content with Mario Kart 8 after enough attempts.
 
Super Mario Bros. series amiibo listings are up (as unavailable) at Amazon for Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, and Toad...but not Mario.  This is similar to how Newegg listed everyone but Mario, and on the product listing for the MP10 + Mario amiibo bundle at Newegg, it states that the SMB Mario amiibo will only be available through the bundle.  Wonder if that's really going to be the case?

Anyway, you can sign up for notifications for all of them.  I don't see the MP10 bundle up yet.

There has already been a huge restock at stores, just people are buying them up because people think they are still rare

I tried it a dozen times I think whoever said that was lying. It is impossible the wii u registers the Amiibo instantly

I trust it. amazon does not always put them in the same listing, just look at disney infinity or skylanders. Especially when they are first put up they're not always together. This is the same thing that happened on amazon.fr and amazon.de and amazon.it when they put up metaknight and shulk

you can't sign up for an alert if someone just makes a page.

I haven't checked ebay for or a little while, but didn't the "holy trinity" used to cost about $400 just a week or two ago? I noticed now you can get it for about $200-250.

Think it will continue it's downward trajectory?  Or am I wrong? Has it always been $200 for the set?

I bought that set at bhphotovideo for backorder. Hopefully they pull though.. not setting my expectations that they will though of course.

Hmm...maybe.

I am glad that he got 2 for his collection, but what he said initially was ambiguous. One user may see him as a collector who succeeded, while another sees him as a troll. With a little context, we all know the difference.

Maybe I am being too technical, but I have seen a ton of trolling. It really gets old. This isn't my community, as I rarely post. I like trying to help people who are collectors or simply just want to play a game, and I see many people on this thread do that. It is awesome and what makes CAG great.

I have no desire to belabor my point...back to lurking.

Pay with a better card, I guess? Not trying to be a jerk. Neither of my banks charges foreign transaction fees, nor any of my 3 credit cards. And I don't have any fancy travel cards or anything.
