So I got to my local Target around 7:15 and there were 3 people there already. After talking with them for a bit and waiting for time to pass, eventually more people arrived. When the store opened at 8:00, there were 11 of us waiting to get Rosalina. One thing to note was that there was this one guy asking why everyone was here and that he said he was only going to get superbowl stuff.

Now when we walk to the electronics department, everyone walked in a normal pace following each other. But then I notice that the older lady that was supposedly behind us is gone. At the electronics counter that guy who said he was getting superbowl stuff is talking to the cashier about amiibos and that lady that was behind us was there too. (Guess they both ran through different parts of the store to beat us?) The employee says that they only have 12 Rosalinas. Since there was 11 of us, we all say that it should be limited to one per person and the employee agrees. That old lady, who I guess is a ninja since she beat us here, gets mad. I guess she is a reseller.

We ask if they have Sheik or anyone else, so they look in the back. Some time later they bring out like 5 Sheiks, a couple Toon Links and a few Bowsers. That old lady is dying to get Sheik and pretty much want to grab it from the guy. The superbowl guy gets one too. The first 3 people in line then get the last 3 Sheiks. So I don't get one. I probably should have caused a commotion to those 2 cutters, but my main focus was Rosalina. Anyways, when we bought our Rosalinas the employee gave us a $3 off coupon for "waiting", which is a nice surprise I guess.

To sum it all up, we had limited Rosalina but managed to get one per person. Two jerks ruined my possibility of getting Sheik. And we got a nice coupon for waiting. I still can't believe that guy was lying to us about getting superbowl stuff, when I left he I saw him leaving too with just his bag of amiibos. What a liar.
 
Grabbed 3 from Target.com and canceled my Japanese order on Amazon. When I get them, I'll gladly trade with someone on Cag.

Nice! I used to live in Ann arbor. That was my old target. Nice to see some Ann arbor cag's. Anyways, my wife just walked into Target this morning. No lines no craziness. Walked out with 2 Rosalinas and a bowser. She didn't even go back to electronics first, lol.

I'm sorry but I laughed reading this post. I couldn't imagine someone getting there late and when stores open he rides his bike to where the rosalina is located and buys them all. I'm sorry man, but its kinda funny reading this. Glad you were able to snag one online tho.

I'm convinced no retailer around me will sell anything except standard amiibo. Best buy claimed they had toon link online but nothing besides the 10 standard They have had since Christmas.

Toys r us has a huge selection of the first wave.

Not trying to collect. Not trying to hoard. Just want toon link, and mega man when it comes out

I started only wanting 1....Pikachu.

Now I want Bowser, Toon Link, Fox, and TOAD (most wanted)

I also dont have a job since I'm doing a full time UNPAID internship. Stupid Nintendo...stupid low self control

Has Best Buy ever had any other Amiibo than the first wave and a half?  The few times I have checked its been empty hooks mostly.  Haven't read too many reports of good finds at Best Buy after the first wave either other than Luigi or Zelda.  Just wondering out of curiosity.

when me and a group of people where standing near the counter for rosalina. bowser came out first in a box and the employee said, does anyone want bowser? The girl next to me said out loud , "no one wants bowser" . LOL

When I first read this, for a minute I thought he meant motorcycle, when he said bike.

Then I thought of that scene from Weird Science where the gang is riding their motorcycles through the house... :rofl:

 
FYI, on target.com Rosalina lasted about between 8:16AM PT to 9:04AM PT give or take a few minutes.

That bike story is crazy. How many Rosalinas was this guy able to carry and still push the bike? Was he wearing a backpack?

Also, whoever posted from the East coast several pages back that walked up to find the people in the tent telling everyone else they were going to buy them all so no one else should bother...what happened with that? I hope someone at least kicked their tent over or pissed on it when they ran inside.

My wife went to a store at 4 a.m. and waited along with 8 other people for the store to open.  As soon as the doors open this crazy german guy rides in on a zeppelin and buys every single amiibo in stock before anyone could say a thing.

Went out with the girlfriend to get Rosalina and Shiek at 8 AM this morning and couldn't get either. Went to separate targets even, just to make sure I could get one of each. One Target had 40 Rosalina and still sold out. fuck amiibo, not doing this again.

Best Buy does NOT have Meta Knight right now. The location I went to didn't get anything, only Bowser and a few Toon Links and Shieks that were filling in pre orders. GameStop is pretty much a joke, didn't even have ANY new ones, said shipment was next Friday, called other locations, same deal. TRU was Bowser only as well.

my Rosalina from amazon Germany that wasnt due till the 8th was in my mailbox. I am happy for everyone who got one at target today. I just didnt want to go thru the hassle of waiting at a store, and all the drama that can unfold. Spending $32 was worth it to me.

I collect certain Disney pins, one time at downtown Disney for a pin release they held everyone back until 6am to line up. Once 6am rolled around I saw people running from bushes and a whole flock of people in wheelchairs try and roll out from out of thin air.

They escorted us to the waiting area for wrist band distribution and made all those people go to the end of the line.

This was me too. I told myself I was only going to get Kirby. Then I saw Pit and I said maybe one more. Then I saw Bowser and I said maybe one more....I think you know where I am going with this.

 
Walked in Target, bought all 3 Rosalina's, no line no waiting, no one else. When I asked them where the new Amiibo's were, they were clueless, they had to ask 3 other store associates if they knew what I was talking about. Finally one said, oh yeah I think we have those in a box in the back. Also picked up 2 shiek's and 1 toon link.

I grabbed one Rosalina at Target this morning with some of the best people I could hope for. There was 7 of us and we all stayed warm in our cars until the doors opened at 8:00. We all went back to electronics with no one running or rushing. Instead we all walked together and made conversation on the way back. When we got to electronics the lady working stated that they only had 4 Rosalinas and there were 7 of us.

At this point I'm thinking things are about to get ugly but instead we all had a pretty rational discussion about what would be fair and who should get their copy.  Just as we finished sorting out who gets what another employee walks in with 3 giant boxes filled with more Rosalinas. Almost all of us wanted 2 copies but we were told its strictly limited to 1 per guest. 

Coolest people I've ever met while Amiibo hunting. I only wish the people at TRU were as great as this bunch was.

Ended up with two Rosalina's and one Sheik.

Figured that one or the other would be good trade bait for the elusive Lucario I'm missing.

I just grabbed a Toon Link from my local one. The site said they were in stock and when I got there the shelves were a mess of Wave 1 and 2's. I asked at the desk and they thought it was sold out at first and then they checked and boom, sure enough the system had em. They checked the backroom and double checked to make sure it wasn't a pre-order. Considering today's Amiibo madness, I'm surprised it was still there (this was at about noon) so it's worth checking the site and asking customer service.

Managed to get a Rosalina from Target.com this morning thanks to Reddit. I was randomly browsing this morning.

Question, did anyone order Toon Link or Megaman from Amazon.com? I had my order placed with them since December but I haven't gotten anything shipped yet. I kept seeing pictures of Toon Link showing up everywhere and I'm a bit worried now.

Downtown LA was chill as hell. Everyone was polite and orderly. Target had all 40 Rosalinas behind the counter and were selling one per customer. I was first in line and I showed up at 7:15. Maybe 20+ people behind me once the doors opened.
 
The problem with doing store exclusives at Target, TRU, and Best Buy is that employees have to much more on their plate than $13 figures.

Look at Amazon. Have they even shipped a single Wave 3 order yet?

For all the crap Gamestop takes, I give them credit for having employees that someone know whats going on. I have more faith in Gamestop that I do for the other places when it comes to filling preorders.

I was able to preorder a MM New 3DS XL, a LE MM with figure, and did in store to home orders for Little Mac and Pit and didn't have any issues. There was no "let me look in the back." No, "Hey Jim, what's an Amiibo?"
