The old thread hadn't been updated in quite some time, so I decided to make a new one. If you happen to see a sale not listed in the OP, go ahead and post it and I will be sure it's added. The same goes for anything listed that has expired as most sales have no set time frame, let me know and I will remove expired sales. Thanks!

Pavilion (Shield TV compatible) - $3.99 down from $9.99

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.visiontrick.pavilion
Probably did this because it came out on iOS for that price. Kind of annoying that Shield owners pay a "exclusivity " tax for some of these games. Same thing happened with Riptide Renegade GP (from like $9.99 to $2.99).

Wondering if the same will happen with The Witness which is rumored to be coming out on iOS next week.

Oh well, guess that's life.

You guys are killing it with these android deals posts. Thank you!

I'm already loving 2-bit cowboy. Glad I bought 2x android android devices for gaming (6" and 8").
I've seen CAGs make fun of the Android thread in the past, but I think this thread has had the best deals of the week this week. And I'm not just talking about the free stuff.

Yeah and we should post deals for regular apps too if they are important like solid explorer, nova launcher, etc as they come up. Obviously there is a lot of crapware but the important or good apps are postworthy.

Don't know if this has been mentioned or not yet but I went to search for train to busan under movies and upon scrolling down saw a banner coupon for $5 off a $5 or more movie.

Edit:  Evidently there was a 50% off coupon at some point recently too.  If you have that don't forget to use it soon.  With the multi-film collections and Train to Busan I wound with 6 films for $17.50 (granted the Hangover Trilogy is in SD)

Here's a question for the Shield TV owners.  Siralim (The 1st one) claims to be compatible with the shield.  I can't find it when looking it up on the shield but whatever, installed from via computer browser.  However, unlike all the other ones I did this way, it doesn't show up under games or apps on the main screen.  It does show up in apps under settings, opens, and runs fine.

Is there anyway to have it show up on the main page?

It won't show up on the main page if it doesn't have an Android TV icon which I think has to be a programmed feature. So you'll have to launch it through settings if you want to start it or use Sideload Launcher, which is a separate app. Sorry.

What do you guys use to back up app files?  It's been so long I can't remember how to do it.  Presumably if I installed it that way it would show up much like other stuff I loaded would.

I didn't have those ones, but did have any rental for.99 and 50% off any season

I use App Backup to backup APKs on my Mad Catz MOJO device. I tried an app called Helium which is supposed to work over wi-fi but I was never able to figure it out. But App Backup is good. Then I use ES File Explorer to install APKs to my Shield TV from a USB thumb drive. With this method, I've been able to sideload several games from Google Play that aren't supposed to be Android TV compatible including several from the Ouya store. I only bought the MOJO because it's able to access both Google Play and the Ouya store.

Ok, sideloaded the app this time.  Still not showing on the main page.  Some other apps I've sideloaded in the past do though so I have no clue what makes the difference.  Oh well, still playable.

Again, if it doesn't have an Android TV icon programmed into the app, it won't show on the main page when played on a Shield TV device. It's very inconvenient, but it is what it is.

This had to have been a glitch. It's not showing as free now.

For those who got it "free" are you still able to access the content, or did Google wise up?
My Shield TV was on all morning, and the Game of Thrones content was queued up whenever I quit a game. Unfortunately many of the music and video freebies on Google Play are limited to one or a few days, so I would suggest "buying" them immediately. A few years back, they had Elvis and Michael Jackson albums for free for one day each. I'm glad I grabbed both of those.

Looks like it's still in my library. Note that only the SD version was free. The HD version still seemed to be full price.

On Roku there was an ad from Juicy Fruit. It gives you a code to get a select Google Play movie rental for $0.99.

You might have to cycle through the ads a few times to find it. I usually just go left on the remote and then switch back to the right to change the ads.

Despite what the Google Play store claims, Siralim 2 is not Android TV compatible.  You get an error message that states the build is for android.  The first one however is compatible.  As I purchased it, installed it, and then went to bed without playing it and am outside the two hour window I emailed the devs.  I figured if they got the first one to work on it, surely they can get the second game to work.

I'm sorry to hear that since I bought the game too without trying it out within the refund window. At the very least, I can run it on my Mad Catz MOJO if I can't get it to work on my Shield TV.

I bought Pavilion, Super Mega Baseball, and Caterzillar right before midnight and immediately refunded Super Mega Baseball because it froze my Shield TV each time it tried to do the license check. Pavilion is a beautiful game but it's very basic - a really great looking point and click which as anyone knows are a dime a dozen on Google Play. I refunded Pavilion too. Caterzillar, which was only $1.49, was the standout - sort of a 2D version of Super Mario Galaxy. The premise is that the caterpillar jumps from planet to planet collecting fruit. I thought it was really fun, and it has achievements. I'm a really cheap bastard, I guess.

Update: looks like this is part of the square enix sale from a few weeks ago. Most of their games are still on sale...don't know when the sale ends
