Animal Crossing: City Folk - Gen. Discussion and info
They're at 37 in mine this evening.

prim, my son mentioned he would really like a Mario/Big Bro's Hat.
ok, I'll mail you one.

My PM turnip prices for today are 130

well my friend and i have been putting in like 300,000 bells every week into turnips.. its always a profit jus patience.. i only put 175,000 today.. and i woke up at 12:45 but daylight savings wasnt auto in my game so i got 2 get rid of the money i was carrying.. i wanted 2 buy another 300,000 but the clock turned 12 right as it was loading while leaving the townhall :(

Yeah, this week is my first BIG investment of 250,000 and that's 2/3rds of my savings. I'd probably stop playing altogether if I had to build that back up again.

Eugaet, I sent along the mummy casket this morning too.

It was raining this morning, but rain/snow doesn't mean valuable fish anymore. I didn't catch anything out of the ordinary after a little over an hour. :?

really? 250 doesnt seem too much to me.. i figure once the fruit appear on my trees and i sell em all i make over 200,000.. i mean im not going for perfect town yet so my grade is a "D+ or C- .." but it seems worth it.. its way easier/faster than fishing.. how come rain/snow doesnt get u rare fish ne more? i catch the ancient fish at least once everytime it rains/snows

Well fishing in my town's always been crap. Had the game since January and never once saw either the stringfish or whatever the ocean rare was, meanwhile everytime it snowed in other people's towns, they're catching 2-3 tunas, already have the stringfish, and Nook loves them.
Eugaet, I sent along the mummy casket this morning too.
Wow, that was quick. I just got it about 3 hours ago when I went to buy turnips. How much was it again? I'll send the bells today.

I showed it to my son. As soon as I placed it in my house, he said 'Oh, I want that'. I opened it up and he said 'I NEED THAT!'... Heh, boys. Don't think my daughter was too impressed.

I dropped 1,008,000 bells on turnips this week. What do I win?

EDIT: Violet, I found the post where you said it was 3800 bells. I sent 5000. ;)

I'll most likely be quitting this game since I can't take it anymore.
I got a silver axe if anyone wants it.
1st PM gets it, let me know when you'll be on. I'll edit when it's gone.

Also have 1 million bells, not sure if I'm going to be keeping it in the bank or giving it away.

edit: giving to jase1z

You have to be more specific. If it's exactly 140 this afternoon then the stalk market wizard is saying you are having a rollercoaster week and it's best guess is to sell now, but if it's not exactly 140 it could say something else. Plus there is the fact that you've got all of us. Somebody is bound to have a better price then that.

No spikes for me this time, my turnip prices are having another roller coaster week. According to that turnip thread on wiipals.net, any Monday morning price that was higher than Joan's selling price, especially if it's over 100, is a roller coaster pattern.

Joan was selling for 107 yesterday, Nook's price this morning was 112.

I don't quite remember. My morning price might be a bit off too. I'll just watch the forums.

I would love to help you all out this week... but with what I had last week, I wouldn't expect anything too high for me this week.

But, I didn't have a chance to buy any this week again. I usually get pretty good prices on weeks I don't buy, so I'll have to wait and see.

Lucy has lost her marbles and is asking for something purple. And apparently, a purple lava lamp is not considered purple! Knowing the villagers of Texas she probably wants me to go back in time and get her some harvest furniture. Just like the 3 other villagers who wanted me to time travel to get them specific shirts that are only available during the summer.

Despite a week full of unfulfilled promises, I still seem to be on their good side. Sahara was in town today and I got old carpets from all of my female villagers. A record 4! Combined with the old carpets I had in storage, I was able to get two special Sahara carpets; Sandlot and Lunar Surface. They're available for catalogging if anyone is interested (well if you really want one I might give it to you).

Looks like we're all on a rollercoaster turnip week. Maybe not as big a profit this time, but like jase1z said, with our combined efforts none of us should have to take a loss.

One of my animals asked me for something black. I ordered him a black bishop. He's probably going to hate it. They are so darn picky! :bomb:

Last time Sahara was in my town I got 5 old wallpapers from my residents. I win! On the other hand, I didn't think to save two of them, though. I don't have any room anyway.

Is there anything special you have to do to get them to give you old wallpapers? Last three times she visited, I asked everyone in town and got 0 all three times.

You have to talk to Sahara first, otherwise they won't talk about, nor give you any. Did you talk to Sahara? If your residents talked about old wallpapers and said they didn't have any, then I guess that's just bad luck. :(

Oh I talked to her. And then half of my neighbors accused me of calling their shit ugly or some nonsense, and the other half said OH WAIT I JUST THREW THEM AWAY ALREADY LOL.

I'm thinking I'm going to start kicking these retards out for a new batch of animals.

Maybe it depends on how much the residents like you? However, I think in the case of them saying they already threw it out, that is just luck. I really don't know for sure, though.

I have been trying to do jobs for my residents whenever possible and recently I started sending them stuff in the mail, which has the added bonus of them sending stuff back to me - I send them stuff I don't want and sometimes they send better stuff back. Sometimes not better, but they always seem to send something, and they always like that you sent something so it's a win either way as far as getting them to like you. Plus I write goofy letters in the hopes they'll read them to visitors some day. :)
Sometimes carpets, sometimes wallpapers!
Huh, guess we've only ever gotten the carpet option thus far.

I'm also having the Wallpaper/Carpet problem. The first time Sahara came to my town I was able to a good amount of carpets, but ever since then I never recived any from my neigbhors.

I also think it might be how much your neigbhors like you. Cause I rarely talk to them.

It was wallpapers for me today. First time I've been able to get 3 in one day. Still can't find a couple of my neighbors. Probably hiding somewhere in my mini forests. Too lazy to go looking for them.

If you think you have trouble finding people.
Whenever i play hide and seek, they tend to like to hide out in the huge fruit forrest by my brothers house. Now thats hard to see anyone :(
it takes me like five minutes to find one person in there cuz I eventually run into them.

Are you pressing up on the d-pad? It zooms into your character and any nearby trees and buildings (but not villagers) become invisible. Makes it easier to see behind things.

Arrgh. Charleigh is back in the hospital again for about 24-48 hours to make sure her central line infection is gone. I was in the ER with her for 12 hours yesterday because her central line stopped working altogether. During that time, her sugar levels crashed and she was almost catatonic. So doctors decided to admit her and observe her and make sure everything is ok. More good vibes our way please!

I promise I'll be back online asap. I miss playing with my friends!

My turnips are currently at 146 bells. The price will hold until 3 pm (I'm in EST, but I set the clock 3 hours back since I typically don't play until the evenings) - there may be a spike after 3 pm, but of course, I'm not sure. I'm back at work, but I left my gates open for anyone who may want to stop by, sell some turnips, etc. Feel free to take whatever fruit you may want, just please don't run or dig up my red turnip.

If you visit, please leave a note on the notice board so I know you stopped by :)

my wii stopped reading all discs.. so i've lost my turnips and ill get roaches :( i have to send it to nintendo via fedex and its like a 14 day wait for repair and return.. and they said they'll try their best not to erase my memory.. there is definitely no transferring of the data on ac to something else is there? the wii still works just doesnt read discs.. BAH

Jase1z - did you try the Wii lens cleaning kit? I'd recommend giving that a try before sending it in. That could be the issue. It's only $10 and available at Gamestop and perhaps elsewhere. It is a Nintendo product. Note that I found that GS employees don't neccessarily know about it, but they should have it. You can check availability on their web site.

So how's the Stalk Market looking for everyone today? I won't be able to check mine for another 4-5 hours.
More good vibes our way please!
Sending!

My turnips are going for 144 right now. I'm still hoping for a better price. On a brighter note... I got a silver axe! I was so shocked. She made me use the lever thing to tell her how badly I wanted one and she just gave it to me. I didn't think she would give it to me. She always lies and takes my axe. She asked if I wanted silver or gold and I said silver. Is there really a gold axe? How is it different from the silver?

Who was it that was looking for a Starman, was it you Becky? If so, I've got a spare one I can send you.

I got my second silver axe today too. Anyone willing to trade anything good for it? Accepting offers.

I've been doing a lot of time traveling because I've caught all of the fish and bugs for the month and don't really have much else to do but try for hybrids. I'm still on modern date, I just TT forward and then back again. I've got most of the hybrids in multiples now, so that's pretty cool.

I thought this game would have more hours in it than it looks like it will end up with. I still enjoy the game, but I think I played too many hours for the first month and now I've got very little to do. Cashing in on the big turnip spike a month ago didn't help things either, because now I am not worried about money. It's times like this it'd be nice if there were more often events like the flea market and fishing tourney.

Yes, I need the starman! Do you want anything for it?

My turnips only go for 120 or something like that. I'd have to sell them ALL back for a profit, but it'd be like a 2% and I want at least a 50% profit.
Yes, I need the starman! Do you want anything for it?
No, that's cool, you gave me the Triforce, so I think I still owe you! I'll send it out tonight, or drop it by if I see you out and about.
174 for turnips tonight. Still looking for that spike...
That might be the highest we get. It's 96 in my town right now.

Aww, that must've been scary :grouphug:

Turnips are only 118 in my town and tomorrow Nooks will be closed for remodeling, so that's one option out for tomorrow. I think I might want to sell at least some of my turnips at your 174 eugaet if you're willing and able to open your gate.

On the other hand I'm getting rain in my town. I'll be playing a bit later and will open the gate for anyone wanting to stop in for some fishing or otherwise.

Gate is open if you want to sell at 174. Nookington's is open for one more hour (since I have yet to update the clock)...directly to the right of the gate.

Please no running and be courteous. :)

Sorry for not opening sooner, was working in the garage...

I hope she gets better soon. You are in my thoughts.

This afternoon is 186. I don't know if it's going to spike tomorrow, but I don't think it is. It'd been steadily going up since Wednesday morning, but I think tomorrow will be a dropoff back to under 100. I think I'll half and half it, as 186 doubles my initial investment.

That's a good price.
