Animal Crossing: City Folk - Gen. Discussion and info

Eugaet - FYI, I sold 3 moons today at the flea market for 20k, 21k and 23k. :) Victoia bought two of them. I haven't seen yet if she managed to fit both in her house!
 
I'm not doing any buying or selling in the flea market anymore (takes too long to rearrange stuff), but I'll have my gate open if anyone wants to try to buy some summer fish/bugs from my animals. I know Dotty is selling her dorado. Camofrog is selling his giant beetle and I think orchid mantis.

Also, Robert, you have Katie in your town, so if you visit bring her with you! :)

Feel free to buy anything from my stores. I don't need any of the stuff Nook is selling. Joan is also here selling turnips at 98 Bells each. She'll be around for another hour and 20 minutes.

And, please don't water any wilted black roses with a golden can. I'm trying to grow blue roses, so I don't want my black ones turning gold yet.

EDIT: Gate is closed for now. Will open again later.

EDIT 2: Gracie is in her store in my city. She might be in everybody else's city too, so check it out and wear a complete outfit to see if she'll give you a discount. Don't forget your shopping card too!

We skipped a majority of the events this weekend. Barely caught the tail end of the fishing tourney and no selling during the flea market...I did jump in to buy one or two items real quick, though. Missed K.K. And I slept through the turnip sales (I can hear the collective sign of relief).

We had a lot of family stuff going on this weekend, so AC wasn't a priority...
 
My gate is open if anyone wants to buy stuff from my neighbors, but prepare to be ripped off by them. :p

Please don't pick up any of the presents on the ground. It's an ongoing test of mine.

Feel free to buy up whatever you want from Nook, Able's, and my villagers.

I'll be closing my gate at 8 PM Pacific.

My Nook's had a silver net today. I am putting it by my gate. First visitor over that wants it, can grab it. Also put a few more gyroids out too.

I don't know why, but I asked my brother if he got one and he said no. I know Connect24 is on because I keep getting messages to play MarioKart and buy World of Goo. XP I haven't played in a couple weeks now and probably won't pick it up for some time.
 
VioletArrows - do you also have WiiConnect24 enabled in Animal Crossing via the phone in your attic bedroom? Might want to check that.

Maybe you'll get it tomorrow. It says on that site that the distribution period is through the 24th.

If all else fails I'll send you one since they can be purchased once you have it.

Once I made a couple million bells on the stalk market, that kind of slowed down the challenge for me as I was able to pay off my mortgage and get all of the upgrades for my town. At the same time I was already in perfect town status, so that was another accomplishment met. It'd be nice if there were multiple layers of the perfect town, like you get something for 15 days, 30 days and 45 days or something.

My only goals on the game right now are breeding hybrids, which I have been tainting with TT, although I've had great success in getting hybrids. My other long term goal is to get all of the fish and bugs to get the gold fishing rod and net. I haven't TT'd for that part yet, and have no plans to, but if the game doesn't get revived someway for me I may start to TT for that purpose.

I really enjoyed this game for a solid 2-3 months, and I still enjoy the game overall, but it feels like the challenge is missing now.

There seems to be a hell of a lot more wrong with this game than I remember with Wild World. A lot of what happens in that game is luck, and I've always had terrible luck. No luck = no money = no buying things or paying off the exorbitant mortgages. I could and would spend hours at a time fishing and catching things and only getting garbage, while everyone else signs on for 20 minutes and YAY I FOUND A STRINGFISH/COELACANTH/TUNA/BLAH!

My siblings play the game too. My brothers have taken to cutting down all the trees and messing up the town status, along with running everywhere and making the ground bare. I don't feel like cleaning up after them anymore.

I got tired of feeling tied to the game, and logging on twice a day only to see that Nook and whatever the fox's name is screwed me over once again both in store inventory and turnip prices. Which leads to the last point, the animals are all gossipy, needy, backbiting dumbasses. I at least found myself liking *some* of my neighbors in WW and signing on to talk to them, now they can all jump off a cliff for all I care. Who's idea was it to make all the girls in this game shallow, snarky little brats?!

I'm kind of burnt out on the game. It's been the only disc in my Wii since late November basically. Animal Crossing can only last so long before it just becomes work.
 
Wow. I haven't played much in the past week for a few reasons, all temporary. I love the game.

FYI, buy.com has the Logitech Wii Wireless Keyboard on sale for $34.99 shipped. I have and really like this keyboard. Great for AC:CF. I'd provide a link, but I'm typing on my iPod... no cut/paste.
 
I'm a little burnt out as well. If I think of it, I'll pop in in the evenings to see what's at Nook's and to check how the hybrids are (or more accurately, aren't) doing. All 4 houses have every upgrade now. Currently voting on windmill or lighthouse.

I'm most interested in catching all the fish and bugs, but am not resorting to TT to do so.
 
I started playing in February even though I got the game in November.
I had other Wii, PS3, etc games to play. lol

Anyone have good turnip prices? I still have yet to get to the final debt. :(
 
I still turn it on for about 30 minutes or less every day. See who is online, water, etc. Never see anyone online though.
 
Just got the red Pikmin hat DLC from Nintendo. I already had it from when it was given out as DLC for the Japanese version, but at least we're finally getting it here.
 
well i finally got my wii back from nintendo :D and i didnt have as many weeds as i expectd, i was gone for 2 weeks.. no roaches either. my gardens are more than half gone tho and i'll never know if i did get a hybrid :( o well i missd a fishing tourny and a flea market. no big deal i finally got my fountain.. now 2 clean up my town -.- all my damned turnips are rotten! can a red turnip be revived? also my store is getting upgraded meanwhile i havent bought anything so i believe it jus changes according to time.. and dadelions, are they of any value or harm? i had a puff and a regular dandelion, i destroyed them assuming they were harmful since they come from weeds.. u cud carry the puff, thats pretty funny. if anybody has a zap outifit i'd like to buy plz :) or trade?

I remember you asking me for some pink hybrids when you came over before, I have a couple extra of each I can give you. Also some regular flowers. I'm done planting flowers. I think my town as enough for right now... Dandelions count as flowers, not weeds.

What color zap outfit you need?

My Mom told me about the pikmin hat today before I had a chance to play it. She said it was some weird red hat. lol

Regarding the system update and new SD/SDHC support... I'm hoping this could lead to patches! Anyone for a grass-problem patch? Now that there's a storage solution, it seems pretty obvious that patches could be delivered and stored on SD(HC) if needed, loaded when the game is loaded. I suppose I'm just dreaming, but I didn't think they were even going to come up with what they have.
 
Unfortunately, I don't think my turnip prices are going to spike out of this declining week. Eugaet, I received the bells today, hope you got the painting already.

I still play Animal Crossing everyday but not so much on wifi. I've been devoting my game time to Smash Bros practice and my new Xbox360 :cool: And now Madworld is on its way from gamefly #-o

The only way that I know of to patch the grass is to use the AC Toolkit, which requires you to add the Homebrew channel first.
