 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Soooo I checked my blackfriday/Christmas fund after taking a look at the Funimation sale.I broke down and got darker than black s2, panty and stocking and sekirei complete seasons since they were the lowest historic price I could find.

Be ready for the aggravatingly unsymmetrical sets inside Sekirei LE box. :3

I hate to be that mainstream guy and ask this question but here goes...

You guys think Black Friday will have any good sales on the DBZ blurays? Amazon has some good prices right now for some of the newer sets but I'd like to buy it all in one sweep.

The Dragon Boxes are just a freaking ripoff now on EBay.

there is a good chance one of the holiday bundles that will appear on the funimation shop will be a dbz bundle in some sort, beyond that I wouldn't be surprised if they were included in some sort of anime sale either at right stuf or amazon in the next month.

Can you imagine spending $650 at once on something like that? fuck.
No need to imagine, I actually did it :D

And it was well worth the money. However, I had a really generous tax return, and TTGL is a precious series to me, and one of my favorites of all time, so I could justify spending the money on it. It's pretty much the only series i'd splurge on with that much money.

I'm super happy with my purchase and would easy do it again if given the choice.

What are the odds of Hellsing Ultimate 9-10 also including a slipcover. It's relatively new and I'm planning on making a large TRSI order within the next week?

The price for the blu ray on a normal studio sale with the got anime discount is actually $37.79.

Ooh ooh, ask me how I know >_>
Oh, I was thinking $35.99 in my head for some reason.

But ~$3 off even with a megadeal isn't that great >.> I have GA too.

hehe TRSI...just say RS and we'll know what you mean. ;)

But yeah probably high since it is newer. The longer you wait though the worst chance you have of not getting one. But since it just came out not to long ago (Oct.) you have a better chance.

I can't remember if I mentioned this earlier, but I was just being grumbly at the fact that (now) everything I bought in the last Sentai sale has been part of this sale. ;)

I knew the waves and 12 Days were coming, but I didn't expect some of the more recent releases to be included at a cheaper price (especially Watamote at $10 cheaper).

And some of the bundles are mixed and matched with different versions of the series.  Anime Classic for one season, regular for another.

Gross...

That Funimation sale is a joke. I'm guessing they will have a special on Friday with some hopefully better deals (hopefully on the Elite subs) but I guess we'll see. My CR sub is also gone the week after BF so I hope CR offers a good deal on a year sub too.

Does Amazon have anything Anime related on it's calendar?
Amazon seems to be very quiet about what they are offering this year for Black Friday. I'm hoping by at least tomorrow or Wednesday they at least preview on what they will be having. The timed gold box deals can at least show me what time I want on be on my PC, lol.

Hey, where else can you get all of Toriko for under $50?

...

You can do what now?
$2 cheaper......I guess that counts for something? Wasn't Toriko one of the shonens Funi abandoned? Speaking of abandoned titles, I wish Funi would have finished D.Gray-Man. Lackluster dub aside, it's last half was pretty good. Shame the manga is more or less dead.

Funimation Black Friday is a huge RIPPING OFF. Current Clearance deal is much better.
they are pretty much exactly in line with what I expected. I am pretty sure I said that they would be bundled at like 30% off retail price... and I did the math on the DBZ one and that one is a little over 28% off so not far off from my prediction. I know I said a few times to not expect much from them though.

Ugh, Wave 3 didn't start yet...I hope it starts in a few hours or another day instead then because I'll be far away from a safe place to make an order until 5 or so.

I think the hopes were that the clearance prices were an indicator of their BF sale, but that was a completely misleading indicator. ~_~
there is almost always at least a month in between any decent funimation sales on their site. As I mentioned before it drives me absolutely bonkers that they manage to have worse sales on their own site then amazon or right stuff all the time.

Last holiday in general everything they were selling was at least $5 more than their sale they were running on amazon at the same time ><:

Although, it does appear this year Amazon hasn't even started an anime sale yet, which usually starts well before the BF sales, so maybe this was Funimation's plan all along! THOSE DIRTY SCHEMERS!

there is some sort of anime sale going on, just not an official one... I mean stuff like attack on titan is just $25 per part which is a sale price. I am sure we will see more soon though, as normally there isn't much in the way of black friday sales but instead early decemeber sales.

That's actually been a match to the BB sales for awhile now.

It seems they're more in the market of matching other big retail prices this year so far instead of actually having their own sales. :*(

I just noticed that the Amazon exclusive edition of Cowboy Bebop has been changed to "Sign up to be notified when this becomes available."  Now I'm wondering if I should actually hang on to my $70 copy.  Was this set supposed to be a limited edition set?  I don't remember hearing anything about it being a small print run.

I shouldn't have hesitated - hope it comes back

I am assuming its for when it releases and peoples cards decline and the orders get canceled opening up stock.
