 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

If you guys are looking for filler for the RightStuf $5 DVDs, might I suggest the Gad Guard Vol. 1 Starter Set? The artbox is nice for all those DVDs you are buying, but more importantly for those in cold weather, it includes a really nice and warm ski cap. Definitely worth the $4.

They don't have Volume 2, but Risky/Safety is a very cute old school slice of life anime from back in the day that's pretty inoffensive. It's been a while since I've seen all the episodes but I believe they're all child-friendly too.

Grenaider is also a pretty decent series for the price and all 3 volumes are in stock.

Phantom: Requiem for a Phantom Parts 1 and 2 are also instock if you don't wanna buy the S.A.V.E. editions.

The original release of Moribito is also on sale for $6.99, though even the new release is cheap to get.

And Otaku no Video is only $8. Everybody should have that title in their collection.

They also have Slayers Season 4, Chance Pop Session, He is My Master, Clannad Season 1 Parts 1 and 2, Panda-Z, Jinki: Extend, Moeyo Ken, Strike Witches Season 1, and a bunch of older Sentai collections for $12-$15.

Detroit Metal City was recommended during the Winter sale right? It's $16.19 with Got Anime membership and S23-2016 code is applied.
TOO GOOD

It's the poor man's Metalocalypse. Still pretty funny though.
They are different though. Hard to compare imo since they are two different styles of humor. I enjoyed DMC more.

Vertical Licenses NisiOisin's Bakemonogatari Novels - starts releasing in December

Vertical Licenses Blame!, Dissolving Classroom, Immortal Hounds Manga

Kinda shocked the Monogatari series hasn't been licensed until now. The blurays sell well(despite Aniplex price gauging) and we're are getting a theatre release.
It's a huge risk, considering their a bitch to translate along with being novels which makes them cost even more. I also wouldn't call the series huge here. It has a niche of fans for sure, but it's mostly just the really hardcore anime fans.

Pretty much the only Aniplex title that could be called "huge" (that weren't licensed by another company) is Madoka Magica. Everything else is priced too high (and not available in every store) to be available to the majority of fans.

Didnt see any at my store
It's part of the Anime Mystery promotion they have going on. There's a specific stand with the two manga mentioned plus various anime (mostly Naruto and DBZ) and anime video games (DBZ Xenoverse, Extreme Butoden, a couple Naruto games, Sword Art Online, Fire Emblem Awakening, and Shovel Knight for some reason). There was a promo where if you bought one anime and one video game, you got a Best Of Anime figure, but not every store got them. Mine gave away gift cards as a replacement.

Got a question. I was going to sell an anime to amazon but before i could they removed the option. Have they been known to bring that option back or should I resort to ebay?

You mean via Amazon Trade-in? I've seen items go in and out of availability there, yes. You could also check Decluttr, which sometimes offers better prices than Amazon (and they pay cash instead of store credit).

Was it for AKB0048? They probably removed it because there were way too many flooding in because of the clearance, so if they have too many they'd just close it off since they don't want anymore.

BTW, I saw the IGPX DVD set at FYE today. It includes both versions and is packaged in one of those new-fangled oval-cylinder cases like the old Star Trek sets, Nozomi's SuperGALS set, and the Cardcaptor Sakura Blu-ray set.

I'd be content with or without the dub. Just happy it finally got licensed. :D
dub will make it much easier for me to justify watching the series for the hmmm 4th time I believe it would be :p

I've only read the manga twice >.>

though i am a few chapters behind on the manga right now. I am planning on going back 10-15 chapters in a bit and reading it all in one go as the pacing is rather slow right now and hard to follow month to month (not that stuff isn't happening but you can easily forget or miss things)

super gals is such a trap if you watch dubs.... only half the series got dubbed even though it's the complete series collection >.<;

Pied Piper Licenses Skip Beat! Anime, Plans Crowdfunding for Release With English Dub

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-02-16/pied-piper-licenses-skip-beat-anime-plans-crowdfunding-for-release-with-english-dub/.98769

Thats pretty cool
This made my year....amazing and FINALLY! Now if they'd only have another season of the anime! Hopefully the manga wraps up this year, that might get them interested in finishing the anime. Definitely funding this, if just to get a local release on blu-ray with subs :) I'll try the dubs but....generally (with a handful of exceptions) the JP voice actors are great at expressing things.
